Great video and crossing! Glad to see those classic cantilevers are still there! Also neat seeing a set of fully incandescent gate lights on a UP line!

I descovered on monday that at the 39th ave crossing in kenosha has RECO LEDs on one gate, and RECO incandescents on the other.

Where's the train headed to Kenosha or Milwaukee Subdivision all the way to Butler Yard?

The Griswolds in kenosha are maintained way better. These ones have a bit of rust, the ones in kenosha are repainted every couple of years. Its also nice that UP still has 8 inch lights in kenosha. Sucks that they replaced the griswold type B light frames, not sure why they couldn't put LEDs in those.

These could use a coat of paint, for sure. Most of these are L&W, so they likely replaced the original 8" lights sometime in the early 80's. A lot of the 8" lights on the Kenosha Sub in Racine were replaced with 12" L&W's in the early 80's as well, as ordered by the OCR. Pershing Boulevard isn't too terribly busy so the 8" lights there are adequate.

The farm sub crossings seem to be very well maintained. They repainted all of the lights and gate mechanisms in the last few years, as well as installing a GS type 3 at 39th, also the new lights at pershing. I still wonder why they replaced the griswold lights with more 8 inchers, if there even gonna bother replacing lights, why not 12 inchers?(not saying I want 12 inchers, i prefer 8 inch). Maybe UP wanted to use up the spare 8 inch lights from Highway A and one of the sets of EMs in kenosha.

@@natestrains1166 Most likely replaced the original Griswold lights with the other 8" assemblies because they already had LED heads in them. Just had to swap them out, aim them and they were done. Quicker than removing all the LEDs and reinstalling them.

That would be a lot easier. They could remove the old lights, install and wire the new ones, and take the old ones to the dumpster at Bain.
