of all the teams in this show, nekoma's philosophy is my favorite one still.. because it's based on one of the fundamental rules of the game: "The team that drops the ball loses". it's simple but that's just it.. they're a defense heavy team with no spectacular offense power, but as long as they keep the ball in the air.. tiring out the opposing team with long rallies where they can't find holes to score, they will eventually get the points. i love their lowkey aura and their diligent way of playing.
every team in this show has a philosophy, a unique way of playing and incredible characters.. i think the true strength of this series is the writing.. the games alone wouldntve kept me reading the manga for years.. the way you experience character development is where the beauty is.. at the very core..
i'm loving these reactions, you seem to enjoy them so much, this show is such a breath of fresh air, hyping you up like that and you haven't even seen anything yet lol

I agree, this is a really solid anime for people just getting into it. There are still tropes and oddities, but the characters, the emotions are still great! It's lighthearted, but also has a fair bit of depth.

Japanese puns in the episode: a part from the obvious karasu (crow) vs neko (cat), Tanaka's name has Ryu (dragon) in it, whereas the "city boy" 's name has Tora (tiger) in it. They are two fire tempered beasts, thus their similarities

yeah one thing i love about haikyuu is that you start to love the other teams for their dynamic and their relationship with karasuno, this is just a really wholesome anime :)

this match is one of my favorites despite being pretty short and obviously a practice match, but it's really cool because you'll see how it impacts karasuno in the future and hiw they incorporate what they learned from this match

The biggest mistake I ever made in my life: getting my friend into anime with Haikyuu. Set the bar too high, now she couldn’t find an anime to get into
Tell them to watch Kuroko no basket
Bungou Stray Dogs, Hibike Euphonium and Full Metal Alchemist will probably be great for your friend - strong cast, goal driven MC and plot heavy on characterization.

@@biazacha its just different, the character driven story of Haikyuu is like ones you find in slice of life animes although it not entirely is. It’s hard to find an anime that makes you feel as good as Haikyuu did

Looking back now that I'm caught up with the anime, I gotta say that I love Nekoma even more now. They're the perfect counter to Karasuno and the best friendly rivals.
There's a difference between rivalry and poor sportsmanship. Nekoma and Karasuno respect eachother, but that doesn't stop them from doing everything they can to win.
I'm just excited for the future reactions to come. It's definitely going to be insane I'm sure.

17:28 Nature of my work included having my name on the credits, these shows, especially aired on tv, have after-credits scene just to expose the name on the credits. I mean, no one really reads them, but since you have to wait on real time (tv, movie) your name on credits is now exposed.

@@addollz6192 was a mix of Production IG downsizing a few eps to smaller studios and they taking a few eps to get the handle of conveing the same level of sharpness with the new chara design... but imo people overreact about the animation, most eps are pretty solid.
