- For the latest series of The X Factor UK. Simon Cowell challenged himself to find the next biggest UK pop band. He took a chance on these boys to see if they could follow in the footsteps of One Direction.
The group known as Unwritten Rule' is made up of:

This video makes me mad. I can tell these boys got one hour to practise each performance and had no time to bond or get to know each other. I don't know their names for goodness sakes! Yeah, they are definitely missing some kind of energy that just doesn’t pull me in. It could be that they were all pulled together separately and haven’t gotten to know each other. But obviously it’s possible for that too happen and still works, take for example a boy band like BTS, none of them knew each other before the band, but they have the energy this group is missing.
That’s because they are playing songs that aren’t even theirs, imagine having to show a judge your abilities with only one song and having to stay with that song. once the group joins each other, then the creativity can explode and they can switch things up and make their own sounds and music.
Vilexa I agree, but I feel like it’s more than that. Their songs sound great, but looking at them together, that’s were that energy we’re looking for is missing. It’s not their music but their interactions with each other.

Hoshi's Vocals Most kpop idols train for about 3-4 years give or take. But there’s exceptions like Jihyo from Twice who trained for 10 years (explains her amazing vocals💕)

Forming a group especially a pop group really takes years to bw formed. Not only their talents and skills as a group are developed but also their individual talents and teamwork, as well as variety skills. Then the whole chemistry of each member. And the dancing or performance also. They must practice singing while dancing too.

Agreed literally half the time they sound like a church singing group and it's not good
i've been supporting them since the beginning, but now they already disbanded and all i have are these group performances. we didn't get to see them as a band, making their own sounds, and doing their own concerts with their beloved fans. it would've been wonderful. but they disbanded. and i keep coming back to these videos just because i wanna see them together performing, as a band. 😢😭
i mean just imagine. one day, when unwritten rule gets to the top of the charts and gets the recognition that they deserve. it would be awesome.

Honestly I feel like Simon just ruined it with his "I'm gonna form a group that will outshine BTS and all of K-Pop and it's gonna be named UK-pop". That's just not realistic. These boys have potential and it is not their fault at all but the next BTS? Naw,.. that's just not it.
And even if his intentions weren't outshining BTS (eventhough he said that), I still feel like he's trying to redo 1D.

There's a little band called Westlife that he helped managed in the late 90's-00's. They're huge worldwide, maybe except in America and probably only second to Backstreet Boys in that era.

I like them too its just obnoxius BTS fans who try to compare them with BTS. What the hell ppl they are just starter and i hope they improve in near future. Don't compare them they are not there to hate or doing anything bad to your precious band they are just another band which is put together by simon like 1D hope they survive and does not end up like them. And yes i am not k pop fan but i don't hate them either. They really are good but everyone in the world do not have to like them and everyone has choices so i like 1D like hell and now i have high hopes for uk pop too. K pop has its own place and struggle and others have their own.

@@leely444 i know they are popular and ppl are insane for them but unwritten rule done nothing yet. They just compete on a show and that's it. Maybe they are gonna famous like hell who knows. But these k pop fans are just so mean they think its just k pop stars who are talented and others are nothing even before they started their journey. I just wanted to tell everyone that it depend upon who you like. If you like k pop than its not like everyone has to like them. Clarissa Herondale I’m a big k pop fan but every other big fan is always so mean and thinks it’s only k pop that gots talent and they’re always comparing them to others and it’s honestly so annoying bc there are so much other ppl with so much talent and they have to bring others down but get mad when someone brings down a idol theses boys just started and have no idea what they are doing yet it’s sad to see ppl bring them down so fast

Here’s the very simple equation. Kpop makes a lot of money. He’s succeeded in making a boy band once, so he thinks he can do it again. The challenge is exciting, and he probably wants to bring the boy band craze back to the uk.
He's actually succeeded at least three times lol. Westlife was very successful for a long time in the UK, much like a European Backstreet Boys/Nsync back in their prime at exactly the same time. Then there is Il Divo which is outside the pop arena since they're more an international pop-opera man-band but very much caters to a female audience, and Then came One Direction which was quite popular. Now that Kpop has finally hit an all time high in popularity worldwide, Simon wants to do what he does best: put together another boyband. But if be wants to call it kpop he has to find guys who can dance too lol and ideally rap also. That's what typical kpop is: a combination of pretty faces, charisma, singing and dancing, rapping, and a lot of fashion - everything popular all at once. So if he really wants to compete with kpop and call his group UK-pop, then he has to at least have all those aspects in a group or more. Or do something completely different and equally eye catching. But considering he has followed the same boyband formula for so long, that's a bit doubtful that he would stray from what has worked for him for so long.
Jade Chew Although, the particular band he formed doesn’t seem to reach One Direction’s standards. The boy band, Why Don’t We, is already a highly competitive boy band to the new one. In addition to that, their voices doesn’t blend well together when they sing. I believe this new band is not going to work well.
If he try’s to make them like a kpop group, they gotta be hella good at dancing, rapping and singing and tbh the one in the red sweater is the only one that gives the aura of a kpop idol, that’s just my opinion though
He also created the boy band prettymuch which are currently gaining a lot of commercial success

Floyd as a kpop fan, I agree. These guys are literally not bad. They just need coaching and practice and that’s it. They all say this as if their kpop idols didn’t go through the same thing.

i can see a lot of comments like “they won’t ever be like one direction” that’s the point ‘cause they gonna be UNWRITTEN RULE and they are going to be successful because they have great personalities and definitely amazing voices and I’m going to support them with all my heart ❤️ so let’s not compare them to 1D okay :))
