I really have to stress a fact, I feel a lot of people don't seem to understand. If you drive fast, the slower driver has next to no time to even see you coming. In one second you aren't even in his mirror, in the next you are beside him.
If you want to drive fast on the Autobahn, you need to know that and you need to expect people to just not notice you coming.
When I drive on the Autobahn I like to go a bit faster than most people. Not super fast, like in these videos, but about 180-200 km/h. But whenever I am passing slower drivers, I am super careful and expect them to not noticing me and just pulling over.
It's my responsibility, to prevent accidents from happening, even if the other driver makes mistakes. Only if I can do that, I am fit to go fast.
If I would just speed like crazy and expect everyone to notice me in time and to not make mistakes, I wouldn't be fit to drive fast.
With great speed comes great responsibility. When I go fast I am not responsible only for my mistakes anymore, I also become responsible for the mistakes of others.
I agree. At the same time, if you plan on overtaking a semi with 100kmh (technically illegal), look in the mirror for more than one second and consider their speed.
@@lyaneris yes I agree. Of course every driver should be careful when switching lanes and should check for faster vehicles, overtaking them.
I just wanted to point out, that the faster driver can go from not there at all to right beside the slower driver within seconds, from the slower drivers POV. Because I wasn't thinking about this for a long time, until a friend of mine told me and now I think it's a super important thing to keep in mind.
Agreed, I think people going over 210 are just nutjobs.
So many times on these crash videos, the slower person was so easy to predict. And they still keep going with 300. Could just be simple things like the 130km/h getting close to a truck and going into middle (or left lane on 2 lanes), like obviously that was gonna happen especially when I was still so far away when the slow person decided it was time to swap lanes. Imo this is also why driving fast is exhausting to the mind, if u don't think about what others will probably do, u are doing it wrong and u should probably go back to driving the recommended speed
Exactly, in most cases you can predict there movement, you can see them come closer together so the following car will likely try to overtake. And especially the example from the guy above me, car going 130 truck (lkw) goin 90, you just know that if I’m driving 200 (+), the chances are high that he doesn’t see me
Once, we drove in a Porsche with 240 km/h. And then a Motorbike passed us, like we were standing still.
Porsche and only 240km/h?
Geringverdiener
I had the same but it was really really dangerous. I was on the very left lane and drove about 210. 2 Bikes decided to pass me left and right at the same time, the left one was so close to the Leitplanke, that I already saw him crashing

As a German I have no clue about mph. This moment Ryan telling 90mph is insanely fast, then saying it‘s 144kmph is hilarious to me😂 I would consider 144kmph as pretty casual (in Germany) to be honest

Stimmt nicht. Du hälst die anderen nur auf.
Limits around EU are around 120-140km/h. But yeah, in poland it's casual ride going 150 on a trip on autobahn. As m,any poles say, it's only recommend limited speed

Wir bezahlen ja auch den ganzen Tacho...dann nutzen wir es auch😂

More than half of these guys break at least one of the laws here in Germany, so it's not as wild here as it sounds:
- You must have at least 100m(~100yards) distance to the car in front of you if you go 200+
- You can't race, be that other drivers or the clock (if you time your 0-200, you break the law)
- You are not allowed to overtake on the right
- You have to use the right line except for overtaking (meaning usually no slow cars in the left lane)
- You can't endanger anyone and have to be considerate to other drivers, which makes it pretty difficult to actually legally drive 300 if the Autobahn is not (almost) completely empty, however this is difficult to prove and not much enforced, but if an accident happens, it's getting expensive.
Normal people drive around 120-160, not 200+
Also, if you crash when driving above 130 km/h, you are partially (Upwards of 20%) at fault for it. 130 km/h is the suggested speed, even when the road is dry and it's beautiful weather. I normally drive around 140-150 but anything above that is, at least for the time at which I use the Autobahn, way too fast.
As a normal Person driving a 8 seater mercedes I must say....I do drive 200+. If possible of course and my cruising speed is around 180 kph

Thats true, and added to your information, fuel in Germany is very high taxed and very expensive - you couldn't afford racing on the Autobahn all time 😜

There was something there with a 48-volt battery, which is why he thinks it was the S8

In fact, Audi invented an on-board electrical system for the S8 with the rare voltage value of 48 volts.

You might be shocked to hear that the Autobahn is considered to be the relaxed part of the journey here in Germany.
Well yes me too. Everyone drives in the same direction, no oncoming traffic, no intersections, no traffic lights, no scooter, bicyclists, pedestrians,... 😊 And overtaking is only on the left allowed.

And as a Swede that has been there a lot on my motorcykle holidays i will say that German drivers ar the best... using the mirrors and indicators and their brains correctly! I love it - and i´ve read somewhere that it´s the safest road network if you count on km travelled/capita...
German proverb: No matter how fast you are, there is always someone who is even faster... 😉
that is what i tell my american friends keen on going on the autobahn. in the US there is always someone in front of you, in germany there is always someone behind you.
😂👍 well sometimes 😁
I’m from France and I used to drive to Germany regularly to visit some family there. I remember the first time I did, I was 19 driving a tiny Citroen, getting on the Autobahn, hitting the gas, reaching 175km/h (my car’s top speed 😂) and still on the right lane passing nobody 😂
Even as a german to my mind going 300km/h on a motorcycle is insane, you are Schroedingers driver: dead and alive at the same time. It is nuts going this fast in a car, but on a motorcycle you have to be crazy.
from my own experience i can say, 250km/h is already a ride on a cannonball, especially when the autobahn is not empty.
yeah actually i hit 280km/h on my bike by myself and i just do that when i know the road and how the traffic is normally around that time. it's not just that i can harm myself with that speed... i also can harm other people so always be careful with that but its fun for me and i enjoy it when the road is almost empty :D
Well who drives with max all the time?! Love your bike 😊
And not right looking people are everywhere, you know it in usa too 😉 so take care, have fun and always in anti car karen mode 😂
It is a good comparison Schroedingers cat.
actually its not that dangerous if the autobahn is empty.. did this a couple times but to be honest. its nothing to enjoy :D my helmet fit was tight, and at these speeds my nose touched the visor in front of me just by wind pressure. you might be able to hold this speed for a minute or two, after this time its just loud, uncomfortable and damn fast.. once you come up behind the wind shield, the wind brakes you from 300+ to maybe 250 in a second.. motorcycle driving is much more dangerous on normal country roads, where you need to consider other vehicles from each side.. especially slow moving agriculture vehicle are always a problem.
99 % of drivers in Germany do NOT drive that fast or only occasionally. It's tiring as you have to take into account the other drivers constantly.
Anyway, have a Happy Holiday and an even happier New Year !
Plus it’s emptying your wallet
Plus Stau (traffic jams) is a thing around most cities. Plus most of the Autobahn does actually have speed limits.
Yeah but at least people pay attention because they know someone really fast could pass by. Plus germans usually have good cars with plenty acceleration and breaking power.
Everywhere else, People are just lazy drivers that sleep in the middle lane
Yeah, I am trying to stay at 130 km/h and in the middle or right lane. And I prefer driving at night when there is less traffic. Very chill. Being stuck in a traffic jam is hell, though. It's kinda stressful although you only drive like 5 km/h every 10 minutes. It just wears you out.
@@WimiBussard that's why i prefer driving automatic... manual shifting can become agonizing in very slow traffic situations
The actual name of the sign is "Ende von (allen) Verboten und Beschränkungen" - "End of (all) bans and restrictions."
I always felt this had a spiritual, liberating sound to it and considered to wear this sign as an amulet ; )
The national speed limit applies.
80km/h for trucks and vehicles with trailers.
100km/h for cars on country roads and vehicles with trailers and permit.
50 km/h in towns.
There are no general regulations for cars on the Autobahn.
Above all, consideration for other participants.
You could say that this sign on the autobahn is the holy grail of freedom for german drivers as the 2nd Amendment is the holy grail for american gun owners.
The difference is that the number of deadly accidents due to too high speed alone (70kph can be too much ("unangepaßte Geschwindigkeit") on a country road) is very small,, while in the US 20,000 people die by guns each year (not counting suicides).
"End of all restrictions" directly translates to the End of Germany.
@@Tortuosit I don't care, I'm Austrian 😉
I call it "reset to defaults". IMHO, that's what it is. It resets the rules to the defaults written in the law and not what any earlier signs commanded.
Between 130 - 140 km/h (approx. 80 - 85 mp/h) is a good travel speed on the autobahn (when it is allowed).
At this speed you can easily cover distances without much stress. I only like to drive >200 km/h (>120 mp/h)for short periods of time if the road is clear and the weather conditions allow it 😁.
But only in the right lane, otherwise it's practically obstructing traffic ;)

@08:29 We call these guys "Organ Donors on Wheels" - if there are any organs left, in the end
That motorcycle was going a good bit over 300 kph, but the speedo won't show more than 299, because the manufacturers agreed to program all their speedos to not show more. This is to avoid races for top speed...
The Audi S8 is usually non electric but there is a hybrid version
It’s non electric. It’s a mild hybrid

The blank circle with the grey lines actually means "end of all limits".
There are also variants of this sign with individual limit icons on them. And those mean that only the specific limit shown ends there.

That kind of sign is also placed on normal roads outside of towns. In that case it would mean something like "all previous signs voided and speed limit 100kp/h, standard rules apply".
Just a little fun fact here:
The OFFICIAL speed record on the german Autobahn and not beaten until today (regarding the german Autobahn) is from 1938, where Rudolf Caracciola reached a top speed of 432,7 km/h, which equals to 268,8 mp/h in a Mercedes-Benz W125 on a route between Frankfurt am Main and Darmstadt. It also was for 79 years the fastes speed that had ever been driven on a public road. And it still is the fastes speed that has ever been reached on the german Autobahn.
The speed record itself has only be beaten in more recent times, to be precise in 2017 by a Koenigsegg Agera RS which reached 444,7 km/h which equals to 276,3 mp/h on a public road in Nevada.
not sure if he could do that again these days, seen the traffic between F and DA
true i know but what if someone decides to go faster?..... koenigsagg jesko absolute...
@@cutecatgamer_ytI actually thought about that since i own a Koenigsegg Agera RS and I have already ordered a Jesko. But the problem is, that its very difficult to find a part which is long enough, no body drives there, the street is in good shape, no wind, .... My max was 370 and that was way to scary. Above 440? Forget it.
It's a rather pointless record because it wasn't a street legal car. Just a racing car optimized for this run. -fast, but boring,
@@manuelh.4147 "Just a racing car ompimized for..." do you even know what you are talking about? That car is absolutely awesom, espacily if you consider the time (1938) and compare it to other cars from that time. I probably woudent want to drive it over 100 but they drove it at 432.
It's fun to stand on a bridge and see something pass under it as high speed. In 2007 I went to the north of France to see a TGV high-speed train passing at about 550 km/h in a record speed run. The record speed it reached somewhere further down the line was 574 km/h (357 mph). Impressive to see a train pass by that fast.
In fact the sign at 4:00 means literally "Ende aller Streckenverbote" - "end of all track restrictions", which includes speed limits as well as overtaking bans.
"Adidas" Sign, now the Sport Section beginns🤣
That rarely happens cause the Autobahn usually isnt that empty..
and if you drive like that on a crowded Autobahn the police will still take your license for reckless and dangerous driving
And going this close to the other cars bumper (as seen in these videos) will also cost you your license..
You can driving reckless and dangerous without running a rule? 😅
@@ridgeraiser driving reckless and dagerous is illegal in itself in germany
I once saw a clip of a motorcycle holding 300 km/h on the autobahn, camera on the speedometer, and suddenly, an Audi RS8, which is a "regular" family station wagon, apart from the fact that it comes from the factory with a twin turbo V8 producing over 500 horsepower, just came swooshing by and in the blink of an eye it was out of sight
Ain't no RS8, it was a RS6.
@@TheKarlShow you're right, I got confused for a moment
To add to this, the newest mod of the rs6 makes 600 hp and is governed to 250 or 280 kmph depending on your configuration as well as a 305 kmph version with some more features like ceramic disk brakes.
With the restrictions removed they can actually go quite a bit faster
@@user-eh4ug8md6f I know that, but the one in the video I'm talking about was the previous gen
@@AHVENAN the one in the video is the newest generation S8 making 571 hp but it's not a station wagon, so you probably mean the older rs6 which came in two variants with the same engine, making 560 or 605 hp. They also have the same rules regarding restriction of the topspeed
I am a truck driver by profession, 85 km/h (53 m/h) is my top speed. When I'm sitting in the car (which actually has a top speed of over 200 km/h), I still don't drive faster than 120 km/h. I then flow with the traffic because hardly anyone drives faster. And when I take the next exit I caught up with the speeding drivers at a traffic light. It's not worth it, it costs a lot of money and nerves and increases the risk of accidents. I don't need that.
Yep, traffic lights are the equaliser.
Exactly! There's even studies on traffic flows on German motorways and people that speed on the left lane hardly have any time advantage to someone who cruises along on the right lane or occasionally the middle lane (if there is one) and it just makes for a worse millage.
When I was speeding, it was more about the adrenaline than the expected time to arrive, if you don't enjoy the nerves you wouldn't be speeding in the first place, you'd prepare in advance or take care of the failure to arrive on time.
Edit: Arriving fast or being late was just an excuse for me back then now that I think about it. If those speeders were serious about arriving early, they'd have passed the red light as well, anyway, sometimes it's even less risky than being speedy.
Well, on shorter distance you are totaly right. And if you try to force a high speed you dont have any benefit from it. But if you flow relative fast to get a high average speed without stressing you and others on longer distance you can have a benefit in time and some fun.
That also means that traffic density must allow driving faster.
I usually save about 2 Hours on my yearly west-east trip. 5 instead of 7 hours.
I once made it from the eastern border to dortmund in 3 hours, with an average of 150kph and 9.9l/100km Diesel. No Stress, just coasting with 200-210kph
What 120 with the flow? Thats below "Richtgeschwindigkeit". Busy roads where you live? Here with 120 i would get overtaken by nearly everyone.

Germans call ICE trains under 300km/h slow, now you know why.
No, no, actually, we're glad when the train drives AT ALL.
there are just few places where trains may drive 300 and the older ice are limited to 280 anyway and some new ice are just meant for max 250
8:30 is especially funny to me because me and most of my friends consider 150 km/h (93 mph) the ideal travelling speed here in Germany.
It IS a very nice, relaxed cruising speed. Maybe too slow and tiresome for very long trips but pretty good for medium distances.
7:38 you can see the rpm gauge is at 13K rpm and the speed is at 299kmh, he then raises rpm to nearly 14K, he is going well above 300kmh. He must be hitting almost 320kmh (200mph). The speedometer is intentionally limited to 299, to not incentivize max speed challenges.
Above 130km/h you‘re automatically in part responsible when it comes to an accident. When you pass cars on a two lane Autobahn with more than 100km/h difference, than you‘re probably acting irresponsibly. Tha faster you go, the further you have to look out in front of you for possible obstacles or potential „problems“ like a car changing lanes to pass a truck. You have to anticipate what other drivers are doing. There is also a rule that iirc says when all cars are have to go slow due to traffic, you can‘t pass with more than 20 km/h difference because of safety concerns. And there are many people getting mad behind you, when you go slow on the left lane because of traffic.
except if you're jewish then u can use the holocaust card and get out trouble free

BTW: even so there in no speed limit there is a recommended speed of 130km/h - if you drive faster than that and have an accident you will most likely being guilty because you „misbehaved“ and added risk
Saying that while owing a car that is limited to „only“ 250km/h by software (there used to be an official agreement to do so but recently more and more vendors remove it) and driving 180km/h is a normal speed to me and going beyond 200km/h is not uncommon - but based on surroundings!
not guilty alone but part guilty. not that someone misunderstoods
In the company of my friend I helped him out as a limousine driver in an Audi A8. The best cruising speed is at about 160-180 km/h but sometimes I went up to 220 km/h , and yes... occasionally I went faster as well but without passengers. About 260 km/h is the maximum speed of that car with the strongest diesel engine.
Driving fast is not as easy as you think it is.... you have to think two steps ahead for the safety of your passengers and for other drivers! In particular passengers of a limousine service should not feel any stress due to deceleration aka emergency braking. Sometimes they do have laptops or want to drink something. And you don't want to see laptops or beverages flying around in the car! 😉
The best question to the customer at the beginning of any trip: "What is your preferred cruising speed?"
Nevertheless, the rate of traffic-related deaths per capita in the USA is three times as high as in Germany.
And the autobahn is actually the safest kind of road in Germany. No crossings, no traffic lights, no tractors or other slow moving vehicles (usually), the lanes are wide, the curves are wide and have a profile that leads the car almost automatically and the pavement is usually in very good condition. All of this is the reason for very few accidents despite the high speed.
You have look at the quality of our rescue services in Germany. Also, we have a dense and relatively short Autobahn-Netz if you compare with the long long highways of US. There you die waiting for the ambulance to arrive... Also they don't really do Rettungsgasse in US.
I'm a nurse, so here is a fun fact: these traffic deaths of course mean DEATHS, not people spending the next 6 months in hospital and never recovering, being horribly disabled for the rest of their lives. Before people drive reckless, they should really consider what it means barely surviving horrible accidents on the Autobahn.
2:40 Isn't the Emergency Brake at the very end of that video clip? There is still a fifth to go. 🤔
The ' Autobahn ' is there to make progress relatively quickly if possible. This is not for racing blindly! If someone just wants to race, then they are in the wrong place and should live out their hobby on the race track! On the Autobahn you have to adapt your speed to the conditions and not endanger others. Everyone should internalize these basic rules.
Ryan before he knew the conversion rate between miles and kilometres: "I wanna see someone hit 300 (km/h) on a motorcycle."
Then Ryan watches someone going 299 km/h or faster (display did not go higher but speed might have been).
Also Ryan after he checked the conversion rate between miles and kilometres: "So there were people going 180 mile an hour. That motorcycle guy was going 180 mile an hour. I am afraid to watch anymore, folks... at least today."
😅
8:02 You can calculate the actual speed. The white lines on the Autobahn are exactly 6m, the spaces 12. If you go through the video frame by frame (30 frames equal one second) you can count to 1/30 of a second, how long it takes for a known distance. When it showed 299 it took him 7 frames for 18m - thats close to 278km/h / 173mph.
Small inaccuracy by vid in vid possible.
Thanks for dooing the math so I don't have to.
Speedometers in Germany may measure quite a bit high (they are not allowed to measure low though, so they err on the high side)
So it checks out within tolerances

Had an american friend visiting me in germany. He thought it would be a good idea to arrive in Frankfurt, grab a rental car and drive it to hamburg (~500km) to get the "Autobahn Experience".
First of all; in germany manual transmissions are widespread. But after 30minutes on the Autobahn he called me...."They are insane, they are about to kill everyone".

White round sign with gray line doesn't inherently mean no speed limit. It means all previous round shields (including things like no-overtaking) are no longer in effect and everything goes back to default rules. So if you see that sign in a city, that means you are still limited to 50 km/h for example.

Being overtaken at my maximum speed on Autobahn A20 heading Schwerin by a Hayabusa Motorcycle. Heard it for minutes before it showed, overtook me in a millisecond. Must have over 300 kph fast. 3.) Same Autobahn, same direction, again driving my maximum of 237 kph, when I was overtaken by a Porsche out of a sudden with enormous speed. Dont know how fast it went. I had to stop next possible to take a deep breath and two cigarettes. Since then I call it the Negative Wush Effect, when I go my Maximum and someone gives me the feeling of standing still when overtaking. The Positive Wush Effect is when I can give that feeling to another driver. 😅
Funny thing about the last clip is not only that he‘s driving 300 km/h, but also that the guy behind him signals that he means to overtake him😅
The fast gray car passing the Mercedes c class cabriolet is an e 63 s amg 4 magic plus .
It is such a great car 😊
Me once drove with my old BMW on the right lane with absolut 230km/h. Than I nearly git blown away from the pressure wave of an RS6 passing by with at least 300km/h. Well Germany is a country where a view over the shoulder for switch lane even at 300km/ makes sense 😂
You have to traffic observation all the time with mirrors, not a second before changing lanes 😅
Merry Christmas for you and your Family.🎄🎄🎄
That police officer at the end 😂. My usual cruising speed on a non congested Autobahn is 160 kph
My parents rented a VW Jetta while in Germany to travel and even though it had a rear spoiler my dad stated it was difficult to handle at speeds greater than 100MPH (160km?) so they never travelled in the fast lane. But all the heavy trucks stay in the right lane at slower speed and had to be passed. At the time most trucks exhaust exited on the left side and they were exposed to the fumes everytime making it unpleasant. My sister had been an exchange student there and her host father had taken my father out on the autobahn before renting the car to make sure he was capable of high speed driving.😊
7:56 the bikes in Europe don't show you more then 299kmh but they driving faster. My Honda 1000RR don't stop by 299kmh, they goes up to 311kmh but don't show it on the display 😂 it's funny and it could be a law here.
It is indeed legal to drive 300+ with every vehicle which has TÜV. You can even drive 400 when your car can hit that mark. But you have to consider that every km/h you are over 130 you can get in trouble when something goes wrong. We have rules which counts now matter what the speed limit sign shows. Number 1 is the Sichtfahrgebot which means you are only allowed the drive as fast as you can stop the car. That means when you drive at night and you only can see 200m you have to be able to stop the car in 200m, if you can stop the car in 250m you are to fast.
The second is angepasste Geschwindigkeit. Angepasste Geschwindigkeit means that you are only allowed to drive as fast as it is secure for you and every other person around you. For example, it is a beautiful sunny day and you drive on the Autobahn but it is quit a lot of traffic, than you are not allowed to drive 250 when the other cars only drive 130 or so. You can drive faster than the others around you but the differential speed should not be significantly faster than the other cars. It is hard to explain :D
When you don't follow those rule you can get in trouble when something goes wrong. Even your car insurance can refuse to pay and can terminate your contract. The police is also allowed to take your car and driver license.
Here in Finland it's always illegal to drive so fast that you cannot stop the car on visible part of the road. Naturally many drivers break that rule in snowfall and during night time but if you get into accident, you'll be fined for driving too fast.
@ryan Wass: 324km/h
timeframe 7:40 to 7:44 (4 seconds) - he passes 20 white lines
each line 12meters, then a 6m gap = 20*18 meters = 320 meter in 4 seconds = 324km/h
i'm happy that i found your contents, i like the way you react and the way you're open about things, regardless you're in the target or not and build a constructive point out of them :)
Also, for thespeed limit, 144 km/h is not that fast! and if you want a little tip to switch from miles to km, it's not meant to be precise but give you an overall idea: 100miles = 160 km so to have some overall idea, i make and addition between the miles and its half, you'll have an approximation, a little below tho
Sorry for my bad english, and thanks for teh content. hi from Belgium 😊😊(France's nothern neighbor)
8:36 Wow, that's the autobahn. 304km/h and someone flashing lights at you from behind.
W.O.W.
You missed the joke of the last clip. On the autobahn there may be someone flashing their lights, because they want to pass. Even at 190mph.
A driver was stopped by the Police. 'Officer, why did you stop me? Did I drive too fast?' Officer: 'No Sir, you were flying too low'.
Ah, that explains why there's a speed limit on the Autobahn north-east of Nuremberg. They don't want people to race airliners on approach to Nuremberg Airport... ;-)
Ryan, you actually skipped the emergency brake at the end of the "Autobahn emergency brake BMW M4" video xD
Never do that again, that was really unsatisfying :D
The "No speed limit" sign is actually a sign that tells you that all prior restrictions are void. If you see it on any other street other than the Autobahn, dont go 200 mph. Since there are no general speed restrictions on the Autobahn you can go as fast as is safe, but dont go blasting through a village because this sign was there, the speed limit in towns is still 50 kph
Once i drove a BMW S1000RR at around 270km/h on the Autobahn, when a heavily modified Brabus Rocket overtook me and i've felt i was driving city limit speed... Welcome to Germany! 😂
That's the time when you feel the urge to exit your car to check if your tires are still turning...
3:40 This sign ends alle previous limitations. On Bundesstraßen (federal roads) you have a general speedlimit of 100km/h. If there are other speedlimits - usually 70/50/30 in areas around crossroads, bus stops, sharp bends etc. - but as well no passing zones or other limitations, als those are ended with this sign - but the general limit of 100km/h stays.
On the Autobahn indeed it means, there is no more speedlimit - but it also ends no passing zones - just all previous limitations.
Nevertheless you are not allowed, just to go as fast as you want. The speed on the Autobahn has do be appropriate to the weather and traffic condition. If you recklessly rush through dense traffic with much higher speed than all the others, you will definitely get a ticket, if a cop comes around.
Technically the limitation for unlimited speed is two lanes each direction and a built up divider
@@lyaneris Well, if you want ro be precise, read again STVO §3 (3) 2.c - two lanes per direction divided by simple painted lines (sign 295 or 340) or! one lane per direction with a median or! built up divider.
I haven't seen such a road without an explicit placed speedlimit in germany - but you are right, there might exist some.
@@bscorax Of the top of my head, I can't remember a Bundesstraße without speed limit, I do know a few Kraftfahrstraßen that don't have one :)
It's really just two lanes with lines? That does seem unsafe imo
@@lyaneris Jepp, thrilling.
STVO §3 (3) 2.c
Depending on the circumstances you can still get fined for reckless driving. There was a very famous instance of a Bugatti Chiron owner doing a top speed run on a derestriced section of the autobahn going all the way up to 417km/h or about 260mph, he was later taken to court however ended up not being fined because he took all necessary precautions to do it in a safe manner, that mainly being doing it at a time when the road is almost empty so he wouldn't have any issues with traffic
I don't think the case ever arrived in court. AFAIK, they investigated and declined to go to court because they couldn't find any law that was fully broken. (They tried to get him with the street racing law but not all of the requirements were met)
@@realulli it seems you are correct, been a while since I read those articles but I remember them trying to get him for it hence why I thought the court case
My record on a friends bike was 299+ km/h. I don't know how fast it exactly was, because the speedmeter only goes that far, but I still could feel her pushing. Was the most awesome feeling ever, but it is super exhausting and dangerous (braking distance to standstill ~1.2km or just under a mile). I did this on a nearly empty part of the Autobahn and only for maybe 10 seconds or so, then reduced the speed to ~200).
I drive with normal speeds on the Autobahn. 140 is my preferred speed. sometimes 220 kmh if i want to have some fun. But driving that fast is also very risky in Germany. For a short period its ok, but longer distances are no fun at this speed.
2:35 Moin Ryan, hier hast du das Video zu schnell beendet, die Notfallbremsung kommt erst noch. Hab wunderschöne Weihnachten 🌲🍀🎁👍
There is a video of a Bugatti out there going 417 kmh, vmax in this car, on the Autobahn 😋.
The fastest i ever went was 290 in a Lambo, the scariest i ever did was 230 in a G-Wagon 4x4high2. Like sitting in a fällig fridge 😅.
your reacts are the best, enjoying every day since a long time 😎
kind a guy from south bavaria
I am still amazed he hasnt discovered the rs6 vs Kawasaki video where the bike lost as it's limited to 300 XD
5:45
I am surprised that, you are not more surprised by the Station Wagon going at Mach 5.
I just love how very differently germans and americans look at a Station Wagon/Kombi.
😂 The grandmas on the Autobahn go like 90 mph
You should search for ghost rider - a dutch guy that goes 300 on German and dutch Autobahn :D
But honestly, some of the cars that got passed by drove like an obstacle, just 100km/h - majority is driving only 120-130 km/h.
Merry Christmas and a good and healthy 2024
In Germany, you are only allowed to drive as fast as the traffic situation allows, regardless of the traffic sign. If there are several vehicles on the right, so that overtaking maneuvers are to be expected, you are definitely not allowed to overtake them at a massively higher speed.
Well, Merry Christmas from Germany^^
Scariest part at 8.40 is that while he is going 300+ there is a guy behind yelling at him to move right. ...
As my driving teacher used to say: For motorcyclists organ donorship should be mandatory 😅
The first hyperbike that was 300 kph / 180 mph-capable was the Suzuki Hayabusa from 1999.
That what impresses me more than the absolute speed is the acceleration at high speeds. It simply goes on at (almost) the same speed as 0-100 kph.
The funny thing about the last clip is that he is already driving 300km/h but the one behind him gives him a light signal to drive to the right bc he wants to go faster
The white sign with many gray lines through (Which looks like someone drove over it and left skidmarks) is actually "All previous rules dismissed". That includes the speed limit but also rules about overtaking.
A speed limit removal sign would have a number in it and an overtaking rule removal sign would have two grey cars struck through.
A bunch of sections on the autobahn forbid trucks from overtaking. And I wish that was just common law everywhere. I don't want to slow from my ~160kmh (~100mph) cruising speed to their crawling 80kmh (half)
hahahahaha, the sign for no speed limit looks indeed a bit like the MVP "neutron" disc from Simon, I can't unsee it now
He even did a Video on that, why his Simon line disc Logo is inspired by the "end of all restrictions" sign.
thx mate, nice to know @@RZ-ey9jk
"No Speed limit" Sign actually is called "Ende aller Streckenverbote" or "End of all route bans"
What does this mean?
All route bans that were previously set up will be lifted here.
Speed limits or minimum speeds no longer apply.
Except general speed limits, which are in effect on country road, state road, (both at 100 km/h) within city limits (at 50 km/h).
What does it mean?
For example, if there was previously a speed limit of 70km/h, you can now drive faster again. Overtaking bans no longer apply either. If an additional sign is attached to a route ban, which indicates that, for example, the overtaking ban applies to the next 800m, a resolution sign is not necessary.
There are also signs that lift a special route ban. In this case, the meant symbol is deposited in gray color.
Motorcycles go faster than 300 but because there were many accidents because drivers were looking at their speedometer when they reached 300, we introduced a law that speedometers can only go up to 299. This was an attempt to stop drivers from looking at their speedometer all the time. In the video, the driver is driving at 320-330 km/h
some of the most iconic autobahn clips are
1) was isn das fürn kombi?
a video filmed by two porsche drivers, the video starts on the onramp to the autobahn when they noticed a 2004ish audi rs4 wagon had spitted some flames and stuff. then theyre trash talking him and on the autobahn flash him and pass him and i wont give away the rest but its absolutely funny how the two porsche guys react with their super funny dialect…
2) idk the exact name of the clip but i guess like “bike being passed at 300+” or something like that,
cause theres literally a biker going 299 (so above 300 cause the speedo doesnt show, explained that in another comment) and then an audi rs6 passes him
3) street race between porsche and golf
theres a golf 1 smoking a porsche
and then there are some videos from gercollector, a guy with a massive garage who also did some 360+ kph runs in different cars.
aside from the autobahn i watch a lot of american street racing and one clip i have to watch once a year is a video of a few seconds named gtr acceleration. very low quality but theres a nissan gtr next to the cam car, as it turns out massively modified, he seems to be ready to floor it and the engine is already kinda high in rpms and then he fkin drops down 3 gears, hits fkin nitrous and blasts off in a way as i have never seen a car in another street racing video take off
Look the last video again, he drives 300 km/h and behind him some one wants surpass him 😂
There is always some how wants go faster 😅
That biker at 299, leaning like that to the right, but the road goes straight.
He does that because there is a slight breeze from the right he has to lean against in order not to fly off the road.
I have been in a car with a friend that drove with 220km/h. It was fun af. 😂
3:40 Just to be precise, that sign says "all restrictions are lifted". Means it addresses nnot only speed limits but also "No passing" signs. So from there on you only have to exercise caution and stay on the right lane if possible. So constantly driving on the left lane is, even at high speeds, illegal.
I imagine having access to the autobahns no speed limit also reduces the amount of people speeding where they shouldn`t.
3:55 that sign means "end of restrictions", usually refering to the last one, and even more commonly used after the "no overtaking" sign.
03:40 isnt really a "no speed limit" sign, its a sign that lifts the sign before that (also used for no overtaking ans so) . normaly when you drive on an autobahn and you dont see any speed signs its unlimited.
EDIT: if you are not on the autobahn and drive outside citys and see this sign it means 100km/h
8:38 btw headlights flashing is a sign for "move your slow ass to the side, and let me pass"
Love how he just skipped the emergency braking of the BMW M4, which was like 3 seconds after he stopped the video
90 mph is (almost) legal speed limit on highway in Poland (140 kph). But every one is doing like 150-160 kph.
seems fair
Italy recently raised their limit to 150... ;-)
Merry Christmas from Germany @ll
Going right up to his bumper at that speed will cost you your drivers license for about 3 months.
