12 yrs as an RN in Chicago, IL but we've relocated. You're right sa experience, Chicago employers will not count experience sa Pinas but sa West Coast esp Washington State, they will count your experience sa Pinas, not just hospital experience, kahit pa Company Nurse, School Nurse they'll still count it. Also, IL has a state tax but other states like here sa WA walang state/income tax. Field/areas can also be a factor sa salary like specialty areas, Dialysis, ICU, ER, and even Home Health usually got higher pay than Nursing Homes.
That’s good to know po. Buti pa po sa west coast very considerate sila sa experience unlike here in Chicago. Thank you for sharing po. Very true din po mas malaki po talaga sahod pag may special field po kau sa nursing

Wife and I are located N. Va. They accepted her experience of 12 yrs at the current hospital. With a 2 year contract of 20k. They started her at $48. It’s been a year now and she just accepted the night and weekender premium w/ additional $16 per hr on top of the night and weekend. The benefits are good. They do match 401k and 401k Roth. Health insurance is average unless you pay extra to upgrade. Only problem the living expense is a bit high. Our 1 bed room apartment is close to 2k. If you’re buying town home start at 400k-650k. A single home start at 600k-1.2 million. We got an apartment close to the hospital because the traffic here is horrendous 😂. They do have homes that are 45 mins away around 400k-600k it’s really the traffic that will get you. Your 45 mins will take 1.5 hours.
