How To Make The Perfect Crab Fly Body: BACKWATER VLOG #84

In this video we slow it down a bit to show beginner and intermediate fly tyers a great way to create the perfect crab bodies using EP Crustaceous brush. The thing about tithe material is that the steps needed to use it are not complicated so you won't need to spend time making a Kwan style head or cluing clumps of mcfly foam onto the hook like you do with raghead style flies. I hope this helps some of you in your fly tying endeavors.

One thing I do to round out the body is use a chip bag clip since it’s round at the end. Might help keep things neat if you’re not in a hurry.

Great looking fly. Do you ever just tie the brush flat without palmering? Seems like it would save material and reduce the amount of trimming required.

So, I just tied this pattern and it doesn't seem to sink proper. It doesn't sink hook up all the time. What could I be doing wrong ? what size lead eyes are you using (I'm using smalls but the fly feels plenty heavy for 1/0)
