Brings back fond memories! My Dad bought a 1939 Farmall H with Little Genius 2-14 bottom plows along with a set of cultivators back in the early 50's from the local IH dealership. My older brother still has this equipment along with a International 45 baler.
Would love to see how you set up and adjusted the plow. Also, how well the trip mechanism worked for lowering / raising the plow and the end of furrows.
The plow is poorly adjusted to be very honest. I need to center the line of draft to the center of the tractor for the best job. My draw bar is slide way too far to the land side and needs to be adjusted. My Dad used to pull 2-14's behind his M so I can't say I didn't come by it honestly 😂. As for the raising and lowering, it was very poor when I first started using it. I didn't know the springs needed tightening. Now that I purchased an owners manual and tightened the lift springs to spec, I don't skid the tire and it trips more consistently. Hope this helps!
The only tractor I have switched to an alternator is the tractor I plow snow with, because I wanted to added amps for lights. I really like the old Generators and Regulators for my other tractors. Plenty sufficient of a system and keeps the original look. Helps I am decently proficient at working on the generators and regulators.
@BillTheTractorMan This generator was rebuilt by a company in Indiana. The guy left it adjusted wide open and ended up boiling my first battery. I had no idea that the generator was capable of producing that many amps. Took me awhile to figure out what had happened and back it way off. Transitioned to a gel battery and hope to have much better success. 👍
My challenge was understanding what the correct parts were for the system and how to adjust the generator output. Works great now, just have to clean up my mess from learning.
I need to get one for field work. This is a slightly modified version that deleted the hole in the middle of the cap but still let's the fuel run down the side of the tank. :-)
Thank you for the video. I love hearing and watching old equipment working.
@@kevindavis9054 No problem. This old H has been my life's passion for most of my life. Hope to get some more content this spring. 👍

I'm telling you what that is music to my ears
Thank you! I love it too.

Nice job lots of nutriants going back into your land all the green grass nitrogen
I'm not that patient, I put a 10si alternator on and modernized the charging system on ours. I can't find decent 6volt batteries anymore.

Sounds good with that muffler......it looks to be a ww-2 H with the steel shifting knob ?
That is a beautiful furrow wall.
Thanks AJ! Took a while to figure it out when I first got it.
What do u plant I know u have or had chickens what else do u have and how many acres you plant and with what?
0 acres and 0 animals. Just running some tillage for a friend.
Looking for a little 2 bottom stubble plow.
You can get a free safety gas cap on the internet if you want it.

Looks like a stainless muffler!!
Yes, it is. It's a Steiner stainless reproduction of a period correct muffler. It's pretty quite considering.
