    Love the bookcase idea! Do you compost the soiled bedding?

      Thank you! If I have chicks in the brooder long enough to allow the bedding to become a thick layer, I will compost the bedding and throw the liner away. Otherwise, I throw out the bedding and liner together if it's only a thin layer of bedding.

    Hello, how long will it be before they can jump out of those brooders?

      Hi! Good question, at 1 week old, they'll have a lot of wing feathers in and will start flapping and exercising their wing muscles. At 1½ weeks old, they'll become mini helicopters and easily jump out of a brooder as they play.
