I am a real world Airbus pilot with thousands of hours flying the real aircraft and thought it would be fun to have a look at the new detailed simulation of the longest baby 'bus by Toliss as well as the new MSFS a320 NEO. Hopefully you find this useful and it brings another perspective to your simulation. Any thoughts or comments are welcome!

I’m happy to finally hear someone mentioning how useful is the in game checklist system. Sadly it’s a very underused feature by addon developers and even Asobo themselves. I think it’s a great tool for aircraft familiarization as it can highlight the relevant switches or gauges that need to be acted upon. I wish addon developers and Asobo took full advantage of that feature.
Other than that I’m loving this nice aircraft, after watching this I bought it right away.
Thanks for watching! Yes I agree, it is such a handy feature for complex aircraft.

Nobody makes these instructional videos better than you. Your voice is understandable, you don't use silly music, you don't ty to be "cute". And you actually know what you are doing!! Just simply the best.
320 is the G.O.A.T when it comes to these videos. Wonderfully explained, beautifully edited, and fantastically detailed.
Much appreciated! Glad you like the editing too!
The avionics on this are a bit too old school for me but i'm REALLY looking forward to the Avro AJ series from them. The Avionics on that are chef's kiss.
It’s quite a difference to the Airbus! But I do love its charm. Looking forward to the RJ as well!
I purchased this on release day and I am so happy with my purchase, your videos really ensure I understand and enjoy its systems to a level I would have found difficult to achieve without videos such as this. Thank you again for the care you take in putting these videos together. In my youth I flew into Jersey in an Airspeed Ambassador, Viscounts, Heralds, a Vanguard, DC-9's and so the 146 nicely represents the next generation when 1-11's were also part of the mix in the holiday season.
Ah yes, finally! I was actually waiting for this video. I hope there is more videos to come in the future for this awesome aircraft. Cheers mate!
I think there will have to be!
Finally got hold of this beauty - so great to have an airliner that really puts you through your paces, I'm really looking forward to learning the ins and outs. Great video!
Beautiful looking plane. Has always been a favourite of mine and now it's on my shopping list. Thanks for the great review.
Excellent review. Your good work is appreciated. Love your channel. Attention to detail, and your professional integrity with all of your reviews. I love this aircraft and particularly its history. The developers have done an excellent job. Some little nuances to be ironed out regarding the MCDU or FMC which I’m sure will be fixed in later updates. I would say this aircraft is study level. Great product for MSFS. This is on my list to purchase. Thank you.
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
Thank you! I’m loving the 146 with all its quirks and unique features. I prefer VFR and flying GA and STOL, but wanted the challenge of learning a commercial jet, and the 146 really hits the sweet spot for me. I may still get the PMDG 737, but honestly, the 146 has the best of both the steam and FMS worlds. Looking forward to more 146 vids form you!
The Fenix A320 appears to be an absolutely worthwhile purchase if you want a detailed airliner, but maybe something cheaper than the 737.
Thx for uploading so often I love your work cause of the effort u put into your videos and how good u are at explaining stuff ❤️
I did a short flight from Belfast City to Southampton last night. It was such a pleasure to fly. It behaved exactly as I expected and the built in checklists are really good. I did find myself doing a lot of calculating for descent planning etc. I can see myself flying a lot of hours in the 146
I’ve loved learning to fly these great planes. The how to fly instructions made much more sense once I just got in and drove one around a bit. The Sync function is fun and reminds me of the H145 handling where you just hold a button and point where you want to go. Thanks so much for explaining the flight idle vs ground idle. These terms were mentioned in the “how to fly….” part of the documentation but were not defined anywhere in the manual that I could find!
I do like landing in the dark or near dark and learned quite a bit about lighting from you.
And finally, I've run into the conditions your stall tests demonstrated where the stick is jerking, and didn't know what was happening, now I know!
Thank you for this, first time in anything other than GA, the navigation was particularly helpful.
Lovely vid...bought the 146 last night, looking forward to trying her out
Just bought it yesterday as it’s on sale on marketplace (I have Xbox X). I’ve really enjoyed getting to grips with it and this video has been very helpful, thank you 😁 Such a contrast to the A320 with all its automation!
I love the 146, used to fly as pax a lot from gatwick to jersey with Jersey European. Good times.
Fantastic, I was quietly hoping you’d do a post release video on the 146 - superb as ever 👍
Thanks as ever Ed!
Great video!! I bought it on Friday shortly after it released. Not had time to take it for a spin yet though, looks incredible in msfs visually
Thanks for the review, it looks great. One thing i noticed, just like the Arrows it does seem quite tail happy there on finals.
Amazing review, thankyou!
You are very welcome, thanks for stopping by!
What a beautiful rendered aircraft inside and out for MS2020! Capt i wondered if you have/would compare the flight models with this aircraft in x-plane vs MS2020 since both sims now have this aircraft. Cheers!
Looks awesome great video.
ive been watching this plane for a while now. really hope it goes on sale soon. : 3
amazing graphics & modeling. Can't wait to see when the Boeing 757 is released !
I am looking forward to that a lot too!
Great video, thank you! So the Sync on the TMS is different to the Sync (afterburner) button?
Love the Ansett liveries. That's a real throw back to the 90s for Aussies
They flew them in NZ too
Absolutely wonderful, gives me an excuse to run cargo in Australia!
Me too!
Brilliant,
With the FBW A20N now having VNAV and the Maddog having been released I find myself flying MSFS more and more now as compared to X-Plane. It still has some quirks and issues, but finally it is getting there I feel like.
This also is a very pretty airplane, once I understood the Maddog to a proficient level I might pick it up and try myself on understanding it.
Have you checked out the new Fenix A320? I've watched a stream by CAPT///320 last night and the attention to detail is incredible, including the failure simulation etc. Really nice plane. Could be another option if you want something more modern instead of more basic than the MD82.
@@LuLeBe yeah of course, I even bought it :) what an amazing few weeks for MSFS it have been.
tere som new Updat :D its sooo cool now ! morr details
Absolutely loving this plane so far. Only recurring issue I have on 3 out of 4 flights so far is a config check error. I get the warning tone(s) and a red config caution light but no clue as to what it is.... After 30 minutes trying to clear it with no success I take off with it shouting at me but the takeoff is just fine and it stops once airborne. I have no doubt I've missed something stupid (yes I follow the checklists) but it drives me mad that having said there is an issue, the system doesn't highlight what it's unhappy with...
pretty plane
How is the performance loss in this extreme detailed cockpit (vs a MSFS2020 plane a320 for example)? Specially for older computer it's a important consideration before buying. Any information would be of great help.
Hey, I have a question I didn’t really fly this bird, but with the latest updates and everything how realistic do you think it is? I’m still hesitant about trying it or not ? Thanks !
Looks like a good plane to add ... now hoping that some clever person does the Air Zimbabwe livery so I can re-live the internal circuit flown in the 90s. Will be even better when the Southern African scenery gets improved!
Any idea how well the airbrake effect is modelled? The simulator does not as such have airbrakes (yet), only spoilers and flaps, and presumably the airbrakes on this aircraft have been modelled as spoilers, but with such settings that the "spoilers" don't affect lift, only drag.
Man, I had to spend a good hour to figure out how to bind that sync button the other day haha
I tend to build my flight plans in the world map screen, does this copy into the plane? I know some payware stuff doesn’t have this available like the CRJ’s for example where you have to create it in the MCDU/FMS
You can, the option is just a bit hidden away. IDX -> Page 2 -> Route Menu -> FPLN Recall (Game)
If I wasn't already sold on buying it, I am now 😁😁
This is such a sweet build. They nailed it. I flew in one once and fell in love immediately. Will be buying it but is it ever on sale?
It's been reduced and discounted in two sales on our site since release so the answer is yes. might be worth signing up for marketing notifications from us, on our site and then you'll not miss out again. Hope that helps.
@@justflightI see it’s on sale for series x!!! Finally getting this beauty!!!!!!
Checklists dont visually take you to the item.
The Office looks very FSX to me? Not the MSFS graphical standard?
Agree exterior looks good, but I fly from the Office, so cabin and exterior are superfluous to my needs.
The WT CRJ4 FMC is curious? Another port over? Will it fly SID/STAR/Appr from FMC?
Thanks for the review.
The flight deck has arguably better texturing than the Leonardo Maddog thst released the same day (I own both)
The FMC has full SID and STAR functionality (you can even import from Simbreif) however it's a modified version of the WT FMC as this aircraft has no VNAV nor does it have any Autothrottle and no TOD calculation it's all old school.
The BAE 146's that were equipped with a FMS probably even had less functions than this one which is quite a modern FMS.
@@SoldierXXL You're spot on with all of your comments, fully agree.
just flight have nailed it
They have indeed!
I love the 146 but I just can't get over that FMS. Unfortunately, I think I'll have to wait until they improve it, or another option becomes available. With the Leonardo Maddog out and the PMDG 737 out in the next week or 2, there's plenty of other places to put my money.
That´s the beauty of competition :) JF have no choice but to make a proper custom one for this 146 and fast or else people will always be mentioning it as a shortcoming in comparison to the PMDG 737 or the Maddog.
I enjoy that the FMS is from the working title team. I've put many hours into the CJ4 and the two systems seem almost identical to me! You're right though, lots of competition makes for a good market!
Well most of these did not have an FMS back then , the Avro RJ did along with an early glass cockpit.
Upgraded B146's had various navigation equipment and types of avionic upgrades.
I don't believe any of the aircraft they had access to had an FMS nor was it a factory option on original 146's but an upgrade by airlines (aftermarket) and these all had very limited functionality (no VNAV at all) basically just basic LNAV which is exactly what this modified FMC has.
I just like the capabilities newer navigation systems have, although not authentic to this aircraft. Hopefully some time in the near future, we’ll get something similar to the RealityXP gtn range for msfs.
Na, I think I will wait for the babybus. Then I will abuse EGLC and EKVG ;-)
BTW, witch Airbus is it BAW uses for London City to New York?
it would be nice to have a flightsimulator that works and not always turns of by it self or crashes
54:10 - I declare butter 😀
You have to try the Maddog X MD-82 captain, its soooooo good!
Done!
@@320SimPilot I added a comment on the video! hopefully it can answer/clear somethings up :D
I've been just spending a lot of time with it I guess haha
Do you think you could do a video flying this beast into Samos(LGSM)?
That is a good idea!
Will you be checking out the MD80?
Yes, done!
I did 2 flights so far. My first time engine 1 wouldn’t start, the 2th my AP tried to kill me by massively banking right (though my heading was set to the right). Also, I really struggle entering the fuel and weight in the EFB, as typing activates a lot of background stuff. I hope they fix it soon, I really want to love it…
Neither are known or common issues Ronald. Please open a ticket with our support team and we can look into both issues for you.
@@justflight Do you plan on adding a monospace font on the various digital number displays (ground speed, nav radio, radio altimeter, etc.)? They don't look how you'd expect them to look on those old segmented number displays, and it seems pretty distracting once I noticed it.
I am enjoying the 146 at the moment but is anyone else pulling their hair out trying to work out what the bindings are for especially the autopilot modes? Want to bind up for instance ALT ARM and cant find anything that works
how do you get it on msfs on xbox?
How come nobody is talking about the MD-82? 🤷🏼♂️
Video is on the way!
@@320SimPilot Great!
@2.20 I wish they would put all the different versions of one aircraft under ONE icon. The aircraft menu is getting out of control.
Yes agreed, my aircraft list is a mess at the moment. Fortunately the search function does work well!
Looks real. Not realistic. Just looks real, in every way.
The RAF Queens Flight no longer fly the BAe146. They were taken out of service about February 2022. Think they have gone to museums, so no longer fly at all. They have been replaced with Dassault Falcons, I believe.
There is no UK registered aircraft G-JEBC
I thought this product included the CC.Mk2 Queens flight variant? Didn't seem to be there on the select screen though?
@@jeeps7er No idea about the specifics of the software. I'm not going to buy it. Just mentioning that the RAF don't actually fly BAe146s anymore. I think the UK MoD still have at least 1 at Boscombe Down for test pilot use.
Fwiw, I think I read an article that these are still popular for cargo running in Northern Canada...
Im just getting back to MSFS after a long break and am shocked at the prices of some of these addons. I checked the price of this one and no way in hell am I paying that much. nice plane but just not worth it IMO.
Hard to believe its early 2024 and its still selling for $69.99. It sure is a nice plane, but it costs nearly as much as the flight sim program itself.
To peel off a beautiful woman or to start up a jet engine.... still can't deside what's better... 🤔
