The lyrics here are a mixture of sad love due to infidelity and an unexpected and quite comical ending. But, as you write...I have instead tried to imitate Monica Zetterlund's version. And it reminds me in the beginning of Dilermando Rei's "Maria Bethania" which I like very much.
