While the gas mileage isn’t all the good it’s extremely comfy! Lot of room! And I like how basically you can live in it!
@angelwrapper1003 It’s a large heavy van with a V8 engine, expecting or wanting great gas mileage is beyond delusional. It makes up for it with good power, reliability & longevity.
When you started this up, I felt like I was in our Ford shuttle van at work lol. While it's a bit slow to 60, it sounds fantastic lol
I have one from 1998 and it is made by mark3. It has no problems. But the guy we bought it from let it sit in the sun for a year and the roof got some rust and faded the paint quite a bit. It has 144k miles.

Same here except the place I work has a Chevy Express, but it sounds good too
It's based on the Triton, and the Lightning more or less just added a supercharger. The GT and Shelby use a similar block from the Triton (but from aluminum), and put a 32 valve DOHC head on top - hence the radically different HP numbers of 380 (Lightning) and over 500 for GT/Shelby.
We have a 2008 Lincoln Mark LT 5.4 and it is such a good engine note and we take it on all of our road trips!
@BlakesCars2 That’s an entirely different engine, those are pure trash. This is the good 5.4, it’s a 2V not a POS 3V model. Those are absolutely disastrous engines.

Rear drum brakes are a good thing.
For optimum braking performance, they're not. Not only are they naturally less grippy when a car is in motion, but they heat up far quicker due to poor ventilation which causes even poorer braking performance after frequent use like around a track or going down twisty mountains. Thats why automakers have been moving away from them since the 60's & only used as rear brakes in cheap compacts only for cost cutting. IMO drums are only good for E-Brake purposes.

The odyssey has a vacuum in it? Thats a first. Perhaps I sound a little cynical. I just think these should be updated. Maybe down size them just a little. I know these vans are probably going to get fazed out but I think it would be cool if ford put their 5.0 in these.

What were approx. the average MPG on these things?? Were they about the same, better, or worse than expeditions, f150s, etc.?
They were relatively the same, realistically ranging from 12 City/16 Highway MPG (or 11/15). Now, depending on your driving style and maintenance of the vehicle, the average driver would likely get less 😅
My dad still has his 1999 Ford F150 with 4WD, and that gets 11 City/15 Highway MPG

Exactly. I really question Honda/Acura's decisions nowadays. The RLX is hardly competitive, they still have TC problems, can't make smooth shifting ATs, the 2012 Civic was absolutely horrible and the 2013 doesn't do much to rectify that and now a gimmicky feature like a vacuum cleaner in the vehicle. For less than the price of that option I can buy a good old Shop Vac and I'm 100% sure it will do better than whatever is in the Odyssey.

Girl friend has a van like that most likely previous owner died like her's did.
Everyone comfortable? I have autism just so you know, and I'm looking at the seat by the two swinging doors on the right hand side of the second row. I noticed it doesn't have a cupholder while the other three seats by the two walls, two by the left and other by the right and the big windows each have a cupholder, a sliding screen, storage compartments, and audio players, and that seat by the swinging doors on the right side of the second row doesn't have any of those things, so anyone sitting with the doors gets no accessibility to any of those goodies, but the other three people do get to, it just wouldn't be fair to him/her if he/she gets that seat by the door on the right of the second row. I'm just pointing out what I noticed, and even my dad thinks noticing something else other people don't notice is a symptom of autism even though I'm not sure it's true, but look again, and you'll see what I mean. And if you don't mind, I want to talk about my experience with my parents' 1995 Ford Windstar.
