- Today I’m flying 7 hours on America's "Best" Leisure Airline. This is Air Transat the number 1 best rated leisure airline in ALL of North America. According to some reviews people disagree with this… so today I bought a flight for $700 just so we could see what they are ACTAULLY LIKE! Fun fact this route was the very route that Air Transat 236 was involved in, the plane ran out of fuel over the Atlantic and was able to glide to the Azores and made a safe landing after gliding for 15 minutes.
19 minutes* but it’s ok it’s still an impressive glide

The reason your back is destroy is that most a330 use the normal 2-4-2 seat configuration, bus TS use 3-3-3 so it's less comfortable. BTW, you should try air transat a321neo LR. Like the video

@@stavv222It's almost the same things as the a330 but instead of a 3-3-3, it's a 3-3. I tried it, it wasn't great. I also tried tap a321neo lr, It was WAY better
I did board on Air Transat before COVID from YYZ to YYC. Nice staff and friendly cabin crew. They offered complimentary free checked baggage when I did my check-in, but I was shocked with the 3-3-3 configuration in A330 economy class when I went on board.
Finally a full experience review of Air Transat! I was looking for them! Thanks Eric!

Also, you've been on their old A330. Try their A321LR, they are much more comfortable, and many of the issues you noted (like no charger) are removed

As an aviation enthusiast, ive watched your video and investigated the layout and structure of the aircraft. i also decided to analyze what was provided in the video. if your spinal area is in pain after 7 straight hours of flying, (of course, this is typically normal for long haul flights) most short duration flight aircrafts have a circular rooftop while long haul flights have a more squared rooftop for maximum comfort and leaning on the walls for sleep, whatever you need to do to sleep. however, i noticed that the transat flight to lisbon you took had a circular ceiling and since you leaned on the wall to sleep, its likely that the walls were curved so much, you couldnt really use it for proper rest. because transat is a cheaper option, it wont have top of the line equipment. for the price, transat is reasonable and a good idea to fly. they are very budget friendly. but if you are like me and cant tolerate airplane food, i recommend bringing your own food to eat and ask for additional aircraft snacks if needed. thanks for your time!

as a premium airline crew I can really say a330 and 777/ a350 does have a difference in terms of cabin space and comfort! 7 hours does sound a bit tough squeezing in the a330, without blanket/ pillow and full service etc

This Airline's A330 made historical safe landing at Azores when their A330 ran out of fuel due to fuel in right engine in 2001.
And same route Toronto to Lisbon

Eric, it was a very sad memory for me to look at the food service at both lounges. The poor food service reminded me of what I had when I worked for a North American cruise line. Always the same food for as long as 5 years.
Interesting how inaccurate those online seating maps happen to be. Considering it is from the official airline page, this is unacceptable! It shows there is a seat missing in the middle when actually there is nothing like this onboard.
Meals onboard Air Transat seem abysmal, especially the meal in the early morning. A "banana" sandwich!
I never manage to sleep onboard these Economy Class seats either.

I used air transat on my flight to France and back. The seats we’re comfortable an the food was ok. I would recommend it.I dont know if you took a older model or what but when i flew both planes had a charing jack and a moveble map. Maybe try taking another air transat.
I think any airline that packs 9 abreast seating on a plane that normally is 8 is just crazy. From 18” seat width to 16” is just nuts 😂

I used to fly back and forth between Canada and Scotland with Air Transat and that was in an old Airbus A310 now thats a bone shaker,,you get what you pay for,,never had any issues
Only ever flew air transat once Manchester to Toronto and was lucky to fly 1st class on the way out and cattle class back! Must admit the 1st class experience was superb too!

I find it funny when people complain about long haul seats when I fly multiple times a year on a 6 hour long route using a plane mostly used on 3 hour routes
You were lucky to get an Airbus. I'm 6'2" and flew their other plane type, and my knees literally jammed into some metal or hard plastic into the seat in front of me. I was lucky that their staff was kind enough to move people around, so the seat beside me became free, allowing me to spread my legs wide into that space. I really don't know what I would have done with that kindness. I have never had that issue with WestJet or Air Canada. We really do need minimum standards in seat pitch and size.
I flew with them last March to Cuba on their a321neoLR and it was great.

i just got off yesterday from Athens to Montreal / Toronto and it was the worst seat that I have sat in. I have been around the world and would recommend to avoid them if you can. a solid 4.5/10 in my opinion.

You should try flying an airline that is not known to many. Its called firefly and its malaysia airlines low cost subsidiary and its fleet has ATR 72 and 737 in its fleet. This airline is known for its low fares and they most of the time serve some peanuts and sometimes a piece of butter or marble cake despite the flight being 1h or less from singapore to subang
Not much of a chance for him to travel to the other side of the world to try the airline out unfortunately. But if its part of a bigger series then that would be pretty cool

For those who fly Air Transat, I have a travel hack for the red-eye flights, get the pillow and or blanket, and use it for back and bottom support to get comfortable.
You should try to nine it’s literally the freaking good first class nice flight attendants. Nothing can go wrong, smooth landing, nice food in Academy and first. Class
What is funny is that Lufthansa would give you free blankets and pillow
love your videos. can't wait to do some of your stuff one day. but big question please: can you tell me what other greater joys you have had compared to flying business class, getting pampered, and eating good food (can't say excellent because nothing compares to "fresh" food from a fine dining restaurant whether it is a top notch steakhouse, michelin star restaurant, or even just a top notch vegas buffet. Perhaps, a dog, fantastic sex, running a marathon, skydiving, surfing, motorcycle riding, concerts, kids/family etc? just wondering how all these other joyful things stack up against flying business class. thank you!

y'know an air transat flight on the same route and same plane (toronto to lisbon)(a330-200) had an engine failure and emergency landed at a small island. The flight's number was air transat flight 263 in case you wanna research this

Can you actually make a review on the cheapest vacation package. You can go to cuba for a week for under $500 with last minutes deals. It would be interesting to see review about flight/ resort..etc

My first experience with Air Transat went as such: The flight going to Cuba was delayed by 10 hours. And then on the flight coming back from Cuba, they offered headphones for 10 dollars. Upon asking why they were free on the initial flight, they said it they gave them away for free to apologize for the delay!!
Air Transat also orders their A330s with one more seat per row than normally, which explains the tightness

The longest word ever took, was actually Air Transat from Toronto to San Jose Costa Rica but the flight I got had no TV screens, at least the flight attendants are friendly I actually like Air Transat better than westjet

Airbus A330 is the most comfortable plane in the sky these days, in its standard 8-abreast seating. However, the 9-abreast makes it the narrowest... even more narrow than the densified B777 and B787.
The legroom is great. Why didn't you show us the whole meal? And the breakfast?
You were on a a330 200 it doesn't have air con it is optional for the airline you need to fly on the a330 300 to get air con

Well seeing what you have been through, the seats were bad but at least you had entertainment, I have flown on an airline with non of those for five hours and it was a good thing smartphones exist I hated it. That airline operates with a 777 now and that is totally different though I wondered what happened to the boring A319's I flew on. For a 7 hours + flight give me EK any day.
