Dylan is pipefish coz he always eating, Tia is angelfish coz she beautiful and loves LPS corals. March is some kind of tang or chromis coz he’s always getting distracted and bouncing from topic to topic 😂❤️🍻🥰
Ok, dylan is either a pipefish or garden eel, eats alot but is very skinny, quiet and reef safe. tia is a butterflyfish as she always talks about eating coral 😅 and march is a bluethroat triggerfish as he is adventurous, friendly but also gentle and intelligent, and starts sidetracking if not kept stimulated 😂
As for the pagoda, have you examined it under a dissecting microscope. I would put it in a shallow cup of water and get it under a dissecting scope. You may find flat worms, annoying copepods, etc. Alternately you could dip it un a potassium bath and examine what falls off. Good luck, Chris Teaching kids about climate change and ocean acidification with corals in the classroom.
I'm not sure if you said in the video how long its been unhappy.. if it is less than a week do nothing. Any fish can up and decide they like the taste including tangs.. my advice is move it to another system and see if it opens back up. Good luck!
This one is a simple solution. Place it next to the other cup coral that's doing great. That will tell you if it's a flow/light combo issue. You're welcome.
I would observe the tanknat night if possible to see if anything is picking. If closed for more than a few days straight and nothing is picking then would pull it and do a iodine dip and put it back.
You got some type of pest that is specific to that coral. could start with flatworm exit. to to see if something changes.. also if u SWEAR its not a fish. pull all the fish and prove it.
also could just be something with the main skeleton of the coral.... could consider Fragging that coral as much as possible. and see if a majority of it survives.. and then u could assumes its a calcium or growth issue thats old that just limited the max growth of the coral. IDK if that makes sense..
Microbubbles or the water is too clean? My duncans don't like either very much, and they might only resemble each other in passing, but the form of the polyps might make both susceptible to the same annoyances.
I have a similar cup/tube coral.. it is bullet proof I think.. but it does get annoyed sometimes, and it’ll act like that for a week, then be totally normal. Have you tried spot feeding it? Sometimes that tells me if it is just a pest issue or if it is a health issue (water conditions). My $.02..
Hard to tell without a really good look but the sea slug might be a nembrotha mullineri no idea on the pagoda cup mine did that when phosphates got too low once but it sounds like your phosphates are toward the high end so 🤔

during the video it looked like some of the fish were rubbing against or were always close to the coral. could they be annoying it so much that it wont extend now?

Tia is an angelfish because she always talks about eating coral 😂

Check the lens on your light for melting.
My guess is leather toxins id move it and see if it improves
Totally agree. Don't know how much it would affect the cup coral but definitely can slow growth in sps.
My RR polka too is doing the same thing. No changes whatsoever. It’s healthy not receding just have no polyp extension

I had a rouge cleaner shrimp i had for year go hit my duncans and padgoda cup. He was also was the missing rock flower anenomes culprit.

If that doesn't work, do a 75% water change. Won't affect anything in a negative way but can only help. 22 yrs experience here. Seen this before.
Love the content 🎉
The Venerable Claude Schumacher, creator of Fauna Marin, always says, the Corals dont lie!
You coming to Washington DC, USA? Bring me some corals! I want a torch with pink tips and a gonni or 2. Maybe 1 or 2 more pieces.
I love orchids too, I actually study orchids and have worked at a botanical garden with their orchid collection!
Put it with the other to see uf it is the water/fish/pest on the current tank
Healthy flesh but no polyp extension affecting one coral only. Some critter in the tank harassing it is at the top of my suspect list.
hey we fianlly see the cardinal in that tank at 7:56
I've had peppermint shrimp nip at corals befire, If you have some in there, could be the cause.
Fauna Marin Min-S actually lowers your PO4 over time
Did you look in the tank at night, just in case?

Nothing at night
iodine dip that pogoda cup coral mine did it a year ago and that was the final solution that worked for me happy within a couple hours
Ok will give it a shot
is it open yet :)

double Intro. so for great video thumbs up
How long has it been closed up? My duncan colony that is otherwise thriving will randomly just close up for a couple days and then go back to normal
Coming up on 3 weeks
my guess is something's nipping on it (the coral).. or test the water in the tank vs the one in the frag tank and see the difference
What kind of yellow wrasse is that?
Corris

It’s just dormant
Did you check the sump?
Swap it out see if the one in frag tank closes up also
any bacterial problem maybe
where's mine March ou said won something's send me a shirt to wear a next years palooza new york
Pull it, dip it, and put it in another tank. If it’s the only one that’s doing bad in the tank it’s a pest or something is pissing it off.
Regarding the plate coral , you’ve got too much Up Shneer in ya Woop Schnang mate.
What's the phosphate?
Are you poking it?
How can I buy a shirt lol. 👕 seriously
Are you running any Carbon on the tank March? Maybe toadstool warfare and Carbon may help?
Nope never run any but will give it a shot
I'm helping clear out your stock with an order :)
🔥🔥🔥👌🍻
Please do!

iT'S ugly replace it with another coral. Can't tell what the other is you didn't get it on camera could barely see it.

Pimp'n aint easy!!
I have 3 black sea slugs that came on some live rock I never feed them and they are getting big!!
The wrasse is searching for a meal on the underside so frequently he is making the cup coral mad maybe
Hmmmmmm interesting theory
Perhaps a trace mineral like manganese
How do you dose and test iodine?
We use aquaforest and test with icp
