Don't we all? I can't wait for more Floki Merchandise! I will be asking for Floki & Gimli Merchandise this year! Everyone is back to work this year so maybe MImi will get a gift!
To all the caregivers, vets, workers and those behind the scene - your families must be so proud of you. ❤️ I hope you all have a nice, safe place to rest at night and, hopefully, take a little siesta from the heat during the day. And that you’re eating well and staying healthy.
Loved this episode. Nino is a little devil. He is so funny. And of course Floki the star. He is such an unusual caring and friendly monkey. Thank you everyone for continuing to take such good care of all the monkeys. Bless you all.
It is amazing how much you do to gently care for all these monkeys! I just can’t stop watching, you have captured my heart, I have been watching now for almost 6+ months! Your focus on care, noticing little details that matter and recognizing what they need to be natural is just amazing to me! God bless all the workers!
I’m so glad that all these little ones get there second chances. Need to help everywhere in the world with keeping monkeys either wild or a sanctuary like this. In the US there is WAY TOO MANY people that own monkeys like the Vervet / or others. Just need to be with their own kind.
I'm amazed how Leila can get around. Climbing finding the feed cage, is a wonder. Of course, its all of you who put the time and caring in the the recovery of the beautiful monkeys.
Nino and Satchmo sure are good friends, I love how they rough house around, and have so much fun while playing! Thank you for your wonderful video and updates! ALL YOU GUYS ARE "THE SUPERSTARS"❗ 🙏💖🤗 It is "My Pleasure" to support such a Wonderful Foundation! 🥇
I am so happy to be watching this episode about Nino getting a new mom. I missed out on him 2 years ago because I was having a hard couple of years having 3 surgeries in one year and long recoveries. I slept a lot, many doctor appointments and PT appointments. Doing much better. Thanks for all you do at the VMF❤
Spellbinding! I am amazed at Nino's ability to do vertical take-off like a jump jet! Zee is great with him. The blind monkey copes extraordinarily well. Lovely to see how that 3some get on so well. The time goes so quickly watching these videos. Thankyou all so much.
This channel is one of my top three favourites. I watch every day, and every day I’m more astonished by the caring (and the time and sweat and effort) that goes into this whole process. These dear animals have you wonderful people - to ensure a future, a wonderful future. I’m humbled. Because I just couldn’t do it.
It is ajazing how smart those babies and how they adjust to thhe toster moms. Those mome do know what they are doing and are so sensitive. I wonder how it was discovered that female monkeys accept ither babies than their own.
É como trabalhar em um orfanato onde não sabemos como cada um vai se comportar. São pacientes, carinhosos, mas não deixam os bebês se apegarem, porque precisam se integrar com as mães adotivas e da própria espécie ❤❤❤❤
I JUST LOVE WATCHING THESE VIDEOS IM TRYING TO WATCH THEM ALL I DIDNT KNOW THERE WAS A PLACE THAT HELPED BABY MONKEYS LIKE THIS I WAS WATCHING THESE CHANNELS WERE THEY HIT THE MOMS TO MAKE THEM NERVOUS N THEY ALSO HURT SOME OF THE BABIES THEY CAUSE FIGHTS WITH OTHER MONKEYS ITS VERY SAD IM SO HAPPY I FOUND YOU I WENT BACK N LEFT MESSAGES ABOUT YOUR MONKEYS SO LETS HOPE U GET MUCH MORE SUPPORT FOR THESE BABIES TY AGAIN FOR WHAT U DO
Wonderful video!! I'm curious about the Samango "daddy" with his "son" as we only see females being interested in babies among the Vervets. Is it normal, at least as far as research can tell so far, for the male to take on the fostering role among Samangoes? It's wonderful to watch! Thank you for our Thursday video - I look forward each week to this and to Mondays on Patreon.
How are you all (staff and vervets) holding up with all the trouble in South Africa? Are deliveries of food and supplies OK? We worry about you all and send you all our best wishes.
I noticed Floki held back from playing when they woke up. I thought perhaps he was in a bad mood then you mentioned his bruises. He had so much fun with Leila last week is leelo his buddy also? Why would he be picked on? What would the course of action be if he continues to get hurt?.
@@VervetMonkey I think they're similar to young children. Perhaps Floki feels left out because leelo came and "stole" his best friend. With his disability is Floki able to understand the concept of hierarchy?
I've just started watching this video but I have to write this before I forget it. It has to do with Floki and his messy drinking juice habit. Can't you just take a bigger baby bottle, cut up the rubber nipple a bit so Floki can drink his juice without getting half of the juice on his body. Maybe he can hold the bottle himself? I also has a design in my head how to create one to put up as holder with springs and a handle for it if needed. The springs to make the bottle change the tilt of the bottle so the juice won't end up on the ground, hence the handle to change the tilt for drinking😁. 🤓🏴☠️🇸🇪
unfortunately Floki is mentally challenged so his co-ordination is not upto scratch, adapting to drink from the bottle was very frustrating for floki and he did not get his required nutrients, he seemed to cope and drink far more from the bowl alot easier so we let him decide and the bowl one
Whatever happened to Kyle i think that was his name. He started this putting the monkeys out there to help the foundation. After the first couple seasons he's not been back
One episode explained the original monkeys in that enclosure all were rescues from a research facility. The original monkeys have all passed away, but the enclosure name remains.
Many years ago the SAAV group helped us rescue some vervet's from the labs in South Africa, was quiet a sad case as all the monkeys had chains over their necks with dog tags with their numbers on, we could not take the chains off as the monkeys had become so attached to them like some kind of security blanket, if you took it of the would pick it up and put it back on again
I like some of the yutubers monkey videos but most of them think they are stupid they dress them up constantly giving them baths there skin has to be dry as hell from that
I love Floki
I think most of us do, he’s one beautiful little guy !!

Such a heartwarming episode.

I love how the little ones bounce whilst trying to engage others to play. ☺️

This is the way monkeys 🐒 supposed to be treated not abused

Good question! it may not be anything near normal, have not heard of it in the wild, Mango was brought up by a male
The parts about the older, injured and permanently disabled monkeys is so interesting.

we monitoring very closely, it could just be Floki being a bit rough and being put in his place a hierarchy still needs to form

I’m just wondering what happens when Satchmo and Nino become sexually mature. There are no young female samangos for them to mate with
For the algorithm ❤️

His visa ran out
What are you telling us “Southa Africa Anti Vivisection”?
I saw that too, and it makes me sick. that may have been YT or some other advertiser that put it there - hoping to ask dave all about it
