Easy Strawberry Galette

There is nothing better in summertime than a warm, fresh from the oven, strawberry frangipane galette. Easier to make than a pie, you will love this rustic homemade dessert with ice cream, whipped cream, or powdered sugar.
🍴STRAWBERRY GALETTE ingredients🍴
For the pie dough:
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp granulated sugar
½ tsp Kosher salt
½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick), very cold, cut into cubes
7 Tbsp vegetable shortening very cold, cut into cubes
4-5 Tbsp ice water
For the strawberry filling:
½ cup granulated sugar
½ lemon zested about 1 tsp
1 ½ lbs strawberries hulled and thinly sliced or quartered
2 Tbsp cornstarch
pinch of Kosher salt
For the egg wash:
1 large egg
1 Tbsp heavy cream, milk, or water
For serving:
Whipped cream
Confectioner's sugar
Ice cream
