Post Rock is like abstract art.. Serenely surreal and provokes different emotions for different listeners!! I can't think of a finer piece of art than this..
This is it. This is the song that brought me into the post-rock world. I first heard it played on an independent, listener supported, internet radio site. I loved it from the first listen but waited more than 5 years before really taking the time to fully absorb the entirely of this album. Once I had, it was clear that I had joyfully, and with great enthusiasm, jumped into a rabbit hole unlike anything since Carroll's Alice took her leap.
GIAA. This is the band that drew me into the musical world of POST ROCK music. Before post rock music I was listening to radio silence. And soon after, discovered an entire undiscovered universe of deep music and I never imagined existed.
I have an ex that always hated my post rock, he said it was just a downer genre of music. I disagree so much to this day! There's always this uplifting journey it takes you on, and the end is pure ecstacy
The intro speaks itself ... after all these years i've listened , its never gets old .. its shows you the surreal , brings tears and prepared you to walk again ...
I hope you are alright guys I was so numb when that happened that I controlled nothing in my body my cousin played Naruto sadness and sorrow but it was still VERY enough. Sad days you guys...
Get ready to be transported to another dimension, this is not just music it's a portal to another universe. I bet you this is what plays when you journey through a wormhole in slow motion.
Yep, but when you have that feeling for years....it's hard to keep motivating with just music. At least for me. Every time I think I won and finally can live the life I've always wanted there's been a setback. Every victory comes a defeat. Come close to conquering the mountain and come crashing down further than I was before. I guess there's nothing else to do anywhere but to keep climbing, the one positive of corona. Sometimes the sunk cost fallacy works in advantageous ways.
Wish I could enjoy the beautiful sound of God is an Astronaut while tripping but I have too much of an emotional response to this music. I'm sticking with the Grateful Dead for the weed and lsd haha
My year in new zealand..... living in car, waking up at beaches, meeting people all over the world, seeing the most amazing scenery.... the highest highs and the lowest lows..... this was the soundtrack to my adventure....... now everytime i hear this i ask myself whats the point.......
It's a start of all your hardships and taking decisions After 3:12 you are done and cannot deal with the emotions and goes crazy and it makes one crazy and finally everything ends
thunderstorm alerts.... cool winds of night caressing as if apologising for the hot day... and then I stumble on this music.. why does this moment has to pass..
Five years later, I almost forgot about this comment and just came back for the song. How time flies. 24th October, 2023.. I will remember these few weeks for so many reasons. I will be back soon..
3:12 onwards is just ungodly. What a beautiful song. All the tension built throughout finally gets vented out at 3:12 ... Utter chaos and finally it all ends.
What a pleasure to come back here, 6 months later with wisdom words :) Thank u my friend, to have called me here :) nice to have u too around, friend !
God Is An Astronaut is my all time favourite band. I can't even articulate how much I love them. The perfect band to listen to when you chill, read, study, meditate, or do anything else. They have such a unique sound, I haven't found anything quite like them so far. I like most post-rock bands, but none of them gives you that feel like you're listening to the soundtrack of the universe, or something, like with GIAA. Can anyone here recommend a band that comes close to them in awesomeness?
You are important to other people, as much as to yourself. You have some vital role to play in the unfolding destiny of the world. You are, therefore, morally obliged to take care of yourself. -Jordan Peterson
does my importance really matter if sadness is temporary and will not make a damn difference when we all die? People will miss me and die some day, and the cycle goes, but everything we ever changed, did and experienced wont matter to us because we are now dead, and our conscience is no more it isnt really worth to continue living if you dont believe in the idea of afterlife, but we still keep going stay strong folk
God is an Astronaut. And we're all but Explosions in the Sky. As Carl Sagan so eloquently put it: "Star stuff, pondering the stars." God is an Astronaut have presented me with an immense collection of highly satisfactorily amazing moments, when I just existed and enjoy the world for what it is. An astoundingly beautiful place, upon where we all gaze upon the interesting development of our collective existence. :) Thank you all, for sharing this experience with me. We will eventually unite!

In the depths of post rock music you find the light of inspiration. If you haven't a clue, then you'll never fully wake up.

The soundtrack to every hard/major decision in your life.
You must repeat to yourself: all is violent, All is bright.
Underrated comment.
God. The nostalgia... What am I doing with my life?
Is it time to make a decision?
I guess with this kind of music you have to make one.
Time to think of repairing the damage.
Live, y'all.
We used this song in the final play in my college. Just wanna go back to those days
