Slovenia will deserve to play at the Olympics when they actually qualify. Granted, the Olympic qualification system has pretty much been hunger games for the European teams in the last two quads. I think they've changed that for Paris though, so teams like Slovenia and Serbia should get a fairer chance.
Heynen is the type of coach who can show off switching several line-ups at unimportant games but when it comes to big matches like this and Olympic knock-out, he is bad. Kaczmarek, Śliwka and Semeniuk should have been used more, don't rely too much on veterans especially when they're having bad day. Also miss Bednorz, wish he hadn't been excluded from the squad.

Leon's arrival only increases competition among other decent OHs for a main slot, which looking back I don't like, not to mention that they sometimes seem overshadowed by Leon mentally. Poland seems to be way too dependent on him, as if he is their cure-all medicine. They need to remember that they had already won 2 big world titles on their own before he came.

It was my first time to watch this game so I don't know who won & at first Im leaning to Poland for I used to watch them since they are a constant fixtures in Olympics while Slovenia was unknown to me. However I was so disappointed with behavior of the crowds, it's was a tough mental game to Slovenia & at the end Im so happy that they won the match. 😀😀😀
A great volleyball game. But the Polish team lacked flesh and spirit between the players and the coach, unlike the Slovenian team, which was more united.

Meh, nobody really took the VNL silver as a defeat. Europeans were a strange consolation prize tournament for Poland, who were still mentally crushed after Tokyo - and it was Slovenia's most important tournament of the year. Look at how France the Olympic champions did. Perspective matters. But yes, the Olympic defeat was traumatic to the players and fans alike. I believe it was the 5th Olympic QF in a row that Poland lost. We just can't get past that stage for some reason. That was truly soul crushing for everyone involved so I can't blame them for not playing their best at Europeans.
Exciting match. Poland is a powerhouse, though Kurek underperformed. He committed many errors. Leon and Kubiak did the heavy-lifting. 3:20:30 Drzyga should have given it to Leon for pipe attack instead of Kurek since Leon has higher percentage than Kurek and he was also ready. Slovenia is getting better and better.

I am Cuban, but I don't like Wilfredo León. He is an awesome player, but he is not humble at all. I like Leal, Simón, Camejo, Juantorena, and all the other Cuban players that live and play abroad, though. I do not like Kubiak either. He and Wilfredo seem too arrogant for my personal taste.
