+RidingWithTom Could you please do a vid on all your mods on your bike? It would mean the world to me. P.S. Love your vids and keep up the great work. Cheers, +ktmforever
I love how even how you went down, you still finished your sentence. "...one decent log and it freaking burns all night. I woke up at 5am and it... *crash* ...was still going".
You are now my idol! That was a great video. From the second fall with the calm first person commentary to the Star Wars reference! That grueling adventure seems like it was a real memorable life event. Good on you! I hate sand too! Thanks for sharing your adventure!
Ahh I got emotional Tom, Suddenly I feel that I want "wake up early morning and ride to a gas station and start the long trip adventure." Then I remembered your videos. I watched these episodes years ago, I'd like to watch them again. This was loving these videos, I was shown those videos to my friends "look at them they are awesoomeee" :) . 690 Enduro was my dream bike and still that. however, I couldn't get one yet, but I have Crf250L small brother of 690 :)
We all know you was just having a well deserved rest and you and the KTM fancied a little lay down together whilst no one else was around. Its fine we all do it haha. Seriously though glad you was ok. I'm well enjoying this series mate look forward to the next one.
Awesome vid of the trip, pity you didnt do the tougher route, but u can always do it next time. Just a tip for when the tube rotates inside the tyre - remove the locknut and valve cap so that if it rotates any more, it can slip inside without ripping the valve stem off and ruing the tube.
Your crash at the 8th minute shows just how important gear is. 5 years ago I had a similar fall on a dirt road and was riding with hiking boots. If you ever had to pick up your bike alone and ride home 50 miles with a broken foot, you'd know I learned my lesson.
Do it! for the next dirt ride! I did the cascades ADV trail in WA with mine helped alot! But still crashed and ate shit once lol, Tell Nerb I said hey and btw you guys did awsome out there ;)
Really loving these videos, Tom. It must be awesome to live in a country that has enough space to allow you to do stuff like this... The UK doesn't exactly have much in the way of wilderness haha!
30+psi in sand is intense! wouldn't have helped you out there much but without a rim lock i guess that's what its gotta be. 10-12 is what I'd run in my motocross bike normally, sand is even less. I cant imagine the struggle!
I've never had street bikes (I am 14) and I ride a Suzuki rm125. obviously the 690 may react different than I think it would, If you lean in the direction that your front wheel is spinning and give it lots of throttle you might be able pull it back from dropping It like you did. like I said the big ole Ktm might be a bit different under throttle than I think. just a bit of friendly advice.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the 690. do you think it would help if you have one of those Scott's stabilizers in the sand. I know they're ridiculously expensive but do you think it's worth it.
Who was riding the 1190? How did you manage to handle the sand? respect for that! Not an easy feat. What ride mode did you have the engine in? TRC of I guess?
Hey tom, been watching a load of motorvloggers recently and i now want my own bicycle! :P thinking of getting a YZF R125 would you recommend getting ABS or not! this will be my first bike to learn on, so whats your Expert opinion?! :)
great job mat> thats a heck of a ride cheers mate like share and sub people hey also what the music intro and outro in this video its nice couldnt find it on shazam app... could you tell me the name of the song?
I really like this episode... and not just because you fell over! Its surprising how the luggage helps keep you trapped under the bike!
I like how you asked if I crashed, "nar man I'm just tired so I'm lying down with the bike on me!"

+blinkycab I thought the exact same thing hahaha
What an epic ride, might have been a pain in the ass at some points but that's what makes it special and makes memories for a life time.

17:48 - RIP Headphone users.
That stack looked super rough - glad you're ok.
Lol @ Nerbs "Did you stack?"
Tom [on the ground under the bike]: "Yepp"
Thanks for the warning !
+Caleb Perry Lol, I shat my pants and just slammed the lid down on the laptop to stop it.
Haha
I wanted to see you make it to the pub, enoying your beer.
As far as I'm concerned you all are great sand riders! Just watching one of your videos makes my bike fall over in the garage.
You are now my idol! That was a great video. From the second fall with the calm first person commentary to the Star Wars reference! That grueling adventure seems like it was a real memorable life event. Good on you!
I hate sand too! Thanks for sharing your adventure!

nice work man! Glad to see you up on the pegs and getting more comfortable in the sand.
We all know you was just having a well deserved rest and you and the KTM fancied a little lay down together whilst no one else was around. Its fine we all do it haha. Seriously though glad you was ok. I'm well enjoying this series mate look forward to the next one.
"I really don't wanna get stuck out here, Cuz then I'll have to sleep in that dead camel." - RidingWithTom 2015 XD

Hey tom! Im loving all these simpson desert videos. Keep up the awesome work! Cant wait for part 5 :)

grüße zurück :D
You always post great videos man
You should look into Rigid Industries LED's for your bike Tom. I have them on mine and they are unbelievable! Very bright, very tough!
Great footage, steering stabilizers world have been great for the squirmy front end! I have a Scott works great you can adjust it on the fly.
Yeah I wanna get a Scott for the 690
Do it! for the next dirt ride! I did the cascades ADV trail in WA with mine helped alot! But still crashed and ate shit once lol, Tell Nerb I said hey and btw you guys did awsome out there ;)
Good stuff bud. Enjoyed watching
Excellent mission, thanks for sharing
Really loving these videos, Tom. It must be awesome to live in a country that has enough space to allow you to do stuff like this... The UK doesn't exactly have much in the way of wilderness haha!
Haha I love how after he crashes he finishes his sentence. Most people would of forgot what they were saying and worried about the crash haha
love these videos , I've always wanted to do something like this
Really enjoying this series :)
Ur whole adventure so far looks fun thumb up
Loving the series mate
30+psi in sand is intense! wouldn't have helped you out there much but without a rim lock i guess that's what its gotta be. 10-12 is what I'd run in my motocross bike normally, sand is even less. I cant imagine the struggle!

Loving the series!!!! It's Mighty Car Mods for motorcycles! Hahahaha
Awesome place to drive a bike. What if someone wants to join you guys ? RidingWithTom
you must have some good batteries being able to keep your lights on without the engine when you crashed they were on a little bit too
I had no idea Camels were native to Australia, also great video man, keep it up
Awesome videos man i'm soooo jealous!!

Mate that last clip was so scary. I was just waiting for a roo
I'd give anything to cross a desert like the Simpson, but I'd want to do it on the new Yamaha YXZ1000R. Now that would be fun!
hahaha say no to the SoCro tattoo!! Big day mate!
Can someone explain why they need such big heavy bikes? The torque of a 250 would work in the sand or no?
that food you eat that you took off the bike that added weight, it goes inside you and adds weight XD
That beer must of tasted sooo nice after a day like that !!! i see you bit of a star wars fan excited about the new movie coming out ??
So pumped, don't screw this up JJ Abrams!
The creator is back in action !! hopefully he has the same spark 30 years on
lol 13:10 telling bushes to do Impossible things XD
I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the 690. do you think it would help if you have one of those Scott's stabilizers in the sand. I know they're ridiculously expensive but do you think it's worth it.
Hey Tom do you own the multistrada? I've seen one around the corner of my house sitting next to a green ninja. They look insane.
Awesome Series! Love watching this! :D When is your next big trip gonna be? :)
how much food were u carrying Tom? I didnt see any food in the first video you put up before you guys headed out
There's a KTM 690 with full rally raid kit that parks on the corner of Exhibition St and Flinders Lane. Is this one of your crew?
how did your chain hold did you have to clean it everyday
Hey Tom ride the Anne Beadell next mate it will really test you out !!!!!!!
Another great video but arn't you pissed off you didn't make it across? was it down to piss poor planning?
Still love the intro
How did the other guy on his 690 refuel at 12:50? You said he ran out of fuel. How did he show up next to the camel? Great series BTW!
+Varun Sarathy they have fuel bags with them
OMG O.O I thought they ran out of fuel bags, too.

I did this in June, when it was flooded in a lot of places. FML, but what a fucking experience.
Tough Ozzy bastard :)
Who was riding the 1190? How did you manage to handle the sand? respect for that! Not an easy feat. What ride mode did you have the engine in? TRC of I guess?

+RidingWithTom That doesn't sound fun at all
+RidingWithTom hahahaha OMG mate 😂😂
I really want a beer and pub meal now ey
best episode
so ended up staying the night at mungerannie?
isn't all the sand killing your chain?
+Max Ros That's what I was thinking lol
Well it is. He probably won't have this chain for 20000km but hey. That's the price you pay for adventure
Hey tom, been watching a load of motorvloggers recently and i now want my own bicycle! :P thinking of getting a YZF R125 would you recommend getting ABS or not! this will be my first bike to learn on, so whats your Expert opinion?! :)
i´d LOVE to do something like this :D !
How do you control your bike in sand like that? It must be like constantly riding in snow or on ice?
Stay on the throttle and pray!
+RidingWithTom or just get a truck that would work too
man you handle the sand much better than i handle dirt.
cr
Crashed 3 times in an hour, came baxk bruised and battered aha.
how did you manage to have power in your camrea battires for this?
“Ate a Shit” whatever gets you through the night.
great job mat>

hey also what the music intro and outro in this video
