Outstanding session guys. It’s great to have a place where the correct information is presented as opposed to wannabe technician’s putting out misinformation.
Rick and father Chuck Good Day Maybe you have access to GM information as to why in Canada Dealers are not offering the Free 7500 mile service and DCT filter service. I find it odd and GM Canada has not replied to my email on this topic. Thanks in advance
I don’t know what I like better…you and Chuck’s knowledge and dedication of and for corvettes? Your camaraderie with each other? Your ability to laugh at yourself? Chuck’s stoic but so friendly personality? Or the beautiful rides segment? Well, let’s just say I love it all…don’t change a thing brother!
The carpeting on the driver's side where it tucks into the center console near the seat belt clasp was short. It would not stay tucked. My dealer replaced the whole piece under warranty. The seat had to be removed.
Another great video. I learn something with every video that you and Chuck create. I know last year you talked about a trip to the St. Louis area. Is that on the calendar for 2023?
Hi Rick & Chuck, Just LOVE your webcast. Just wondering like some people that I was talking to this past weekend is what's the difference between my mode and z mode??? You guys rock!!!!!!!
I bought a used 22 c8Z51 3LT. It came with one key - #2. Dealer made me another key, which is showing as key #3. I can't set power seat memory setting #1, only #2 with key #2... can the Dealer change the key #?
Regarding Service, You mention at minute 17:22 "7500 miles or two years whatever comes first" but: From 2021 manual: " The engine oil and filter must be changed at least once a year" regardless of mileage and there is no date based DCT cannister filter change. I see 7500 miles.
My C8 stingray has 1800 miles and it’s nine months old and says I need an oil change. Dealership says I need to do the free 7500 mile service that GM pays for not just a plain oil change. Please comment.
Greta video Rick! Here’s a question you didn’t cover that probably applies to a lot of people. If over the course of 2 years, I only drive 5000 miles and then have my service done at 5000. Do I have to change the filter AGAIN once I hit 7500 miles?
Hi Rick love your show did you ever change your exhaust on your c8 I just received my 2023 c8 and I like to make it a bit louder Iread up on some exhaust system and they throw acel light on the dash my question is which after market exhaust won't do that I have thez51 package as you know has both the npp and afm valves on it I live in NewYork state and I don't want to have a problem with inspection and gm down the road Rick what's your advice on this Thank you Rocky Massaro
Great vlog as usual Rick, you and Chuck are a hoot together 😂 and as usual give excellent advice and information. I know you have no control over what GM does or manufactures, but these new C8’s are certainly money pits for sure. The initial costs and the increased cost to maintain is just too much for the normal blue collar guy to justify. Not saying the car isn’t worth it, it is a very fine car at a great value, but the cost to purchase and maintain is just not something the normal guy can justify. Just by watching your vlog, it’s obvious that owners don’t really know what their getting into with routine maintenance, very costly. Enjoy your enthusiasm, and honesty !
Ok Rick, Will Reverend Metts be giving his Blessing on this Z51 when it arrives at the Dealership? Feels like Deja Vu all over again! Anxious to hear about your experience and the differences you notice as you progress through the Z51! I expect only a few people have the opportunity to have both cars. And of those, only a small, small percentage are probably RUclips Car Vlogers. You’re talking a lot, don’t miss your exit lol! More Drama because of another Plant Shut Down and 2023s ending sooner than expected? I keep thinking of Trading Places: “Turn those machines back on”!!!
You had a great explanation about the 1st service on the C8. I could see how the wording could be misinterpreted. Using the word "Flush" does seem to indicate the removal and replacement of fluids. When you introduce the computer aspect, you can see that it is not fluids but a computer process. Keep up the great work. You guys remind me of a good comedic duo like Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin. LOL!
Yes the can it’s a different procedure but they can at an extra cost. GM has their reasons we have heard something to do with EPA….only Z06 gets 2 qts from factory, GM states you only need it for aggressive driving habits
I understand the oil and DCT procedure and limits. But the owners manual says the first oil change should be done in one year. So if you are a light user such as myself, I will most likely pay for the first oil change only and then due the DCT and next oil change that is free before the 7500 or two year deadline. Hope I got that right!!
In my Post for this Vlog, I provided what my Dealership charged and my explanation as to why I did it early! But to directly answer: It was $1,095 plus tax at my Dealership where I got my car a year ago 2/14/2022… Valentines Day. I was on the Brink of Speed Live Octane Hour last night and mentioned that my car was going to be a year old 2/14/2023. Going back to your Question: It was $483 for Parts & $612 for Labor plus tax. IMO, I’m not sure how busy with C8 Business the Garage is? They typically get only 1-2 Corvette Allocations per year, but for 2022, I was told they sold 8 Corvettes. IMO It just seemed they had to look a lot of stuff up. They weren’t up to Speed as to what was covered for First Service.
Thanks for the great advice guys. Thanks for including my picture, Rick!

There must be a way to change the wheel size. The ZO6 comes with 20/21 and I assume the ratio hasn't been reduced.
looking forward every Tuesday to your show .......
Thanks again guys for taking time out of your busy day to do your weekly tech Tuesday. Waiting impatiently for Sundays coffee with Conti. 👍👍😁
The carpeting on the driver's side where it tucks into the center console near the seat belt clasp was short. It would not stay tucked. My dealer replaced the whole piece under warranty. The seat had to be removed.
Hey Rick you're a great thanks for the info you still haven't said how much you want for your Bett up c8 ...??
The editor of this video is definitely a graduate of the US K-12 government school system. The abbreviation for Nebraska is NE, not NB: 24:36. 😅😂🤣
Yeah that’s why I can’t edit in the day 🤣🤣🤣 moving too fast , I was a dumbass, shhhh don’t tell anyone 😮😮😮
Another great video. I learn something with every video that you and Chuck create. I know last year you talked about a trip to the St. Louis area. Is that on the calendar for 2023?
Mr. Conti great vlog on Valentine's day ❤!! You and Chuck are a inspiration to the Corvette community!! Rick,,Stop Dreaming and Start Driving 👍🏽
Hi Rick & Chuck, Just LOVE your webcast. Just wondering like some people that I was talking to this past weekend is what's the difference between my mode and z mode??? You guys rock!!!!!!!

Thanks John sorry been spread thin on and off camera, look forward to talking to you soon sir. Off today though catching up on personal stuff

This is the best channel for Corvette content. Love tech Tuesday.

Paul Koerner, veteran chief Vette mechanic for GM says do NOT change your tire size. Everything is designed and calibrated for the stock sizes.

Callaway has been given the way into the computer from GM, so you cannot say it will never happen.

Yeah maybe they should cal if fluid "circulation".
When the dealer does the 1st flush, can they add the extra 2 quarts of fluid? Why did the dealer not add the 2 extra quarts from the factory
Yes the can it’s a different procedure but they can at an extra cost. GM has their reasons we have heard something to do with EPA….only Z06 gets 2 qts from factory, GM states you only need it for aggressive driving habits
Enjoy Tech Tuesday as usual, Thanks Chuck and Rick.
Great Tech Tuesday as always.

How much does the DCT flush, fluid change, and filter change, cost?
