    Although he was a fabulous jazz player, he didn't stuff those fancy chords into every song just to show that he can do it. He had great taste and style ... RIP

    Mel Brown puts on a truly master performance while playing with the Danny Marx band who were one of Toronto's best blues bands are getting a real memory!

    Hi Sean, this footage was broadcast by Rogers cable 10 as part of the weekly show put on by the Toronto Blues Society. Danny Marks was the host and they had some great guest performers too!

    Mel is so much more soulful and real then the other guitarist; although' the other dude is good, he doesn't speak to the soul the way Mel does.

      i would have just respectfully played rhythm in the background and if Mel nodded to me to solo it would be short , bluesy and very respectful.

    I think he gave up guitar for something like 10 years and played piano instead. Anyway a great and under-rated bluesman.
