As you said one method only, I have faced the issue in HP petrol station in OMR Karapakkam. I asked them to fill Rs 200, meter zero and he typed 200rs everything done but in my bike petrol meter not moved I have doubt and I informed manager but they not accept started arguments than I stop my bike there itself and I asked one mechanic to check the petrol finally we shocked in my tank 200ML petrol only there. Then they said mechine issue nu again they filled rs200.

When I asked to fill petrol for my car for 500 rupees. He filled only for 200. Then I said I asked for 500, not 200.
Other staff distracted me and without bringing it to 0, he filled for 100 more.
So totally he filled only for 300 and took 500 from me.
Arguments happened and I left that place since I was with my family too.
This happened in Chennai Indian oil mount rd, near Tamil Nadu pollution control board.
Please Beware.
The same incident happened in bharath petrol bunk Sholinganallur.
For me also it happened. But I could able to saw my needle in my vechile and found they filled less. Then I complained to the office and immediately they have refilled. But they lost the customer. I never went to the bunk again.

I also have two doubts in this regard. First in petrol bunks the employer fills the petrol as soon as he brings the meter to 0. He will not ask any confirmation or will not give the wanted timing to watch the meter. I think in this way also they are cheating. And the second way while putting the petrol the reading in the meter will have a long jump - i. e. The amount will not be continuous - if the amount in the meter is 32.00rs means it will jump to 36.00rs. Omitting 33,34,35. In this way also they are cheating i suppose.
From 10 years I'm using this method. I carry 1/2 litre, 1 litre, 1.5 litre, 2 litre, 2.5 litre empty pet bottles. Even though I bring my vehicle to fill the fuel tank. I insist them to fill in bottles. They can't cheat.

in chennai thoraipakkam bharath petrol bunk during march 2021 i requested to fill my car with 10 lit diesel after i made payment i travelling upto sholiganalur toll i found no change in fuel gauge i came back imd ask the staff they behaved very worstly these things hapeen in early hours so a loss if Rs880/- next during april 2021 another bharat bunk in thoraipakkam i ask to fill Rs1050/- made payment my fuel gauge add one bar and travelled only 8km near adyar that one bar is empty this how they cheated 12.22 lit of diesel it happened during 1.00pm a loss of Rs 1050/ - onside govt other side bunk cheating us. these type of cheating bunk owner one day or other they to answer
