Wow! The end of phase 1 is here!! I’ve been really enjoying phase 2 so far. On my patreon I am a month ahead so I’ve watched both Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World! patreon.com/emmereacts
I'm so glad you're enjoying the MCU. I loved going through SW with you and I'm glad to go though this journey with you too. Steve wasn't tipping Fury. He said he couldn't be surprised by anything and Fury said "Ten bucks says you can". Who's your favourite Avenger so far?
I’m not sure if you’ve seen it, but before you watch Civil War, Spiderman Homecoming, far from home, and no way home, you should watch the original Spiderman movies, those being the Sam Rami ones and the Andrew Garfield ones. Another thing to look for in the Sam Rami ones is Bruce Campbell whose a friend of Sam Rami, he also plays Ash Williams from Evil Dead, another Sam Rami film series. He plays a announcer at the wrestling match in the first Spiderman, won’t spoil where he shows up in the other 2.
Cap wasn't "tipping" Nick Fury ten bucks in the helicarrier. He was settling a bet that Fury proposed to him at the gym. Love your reactions and comments, Emme, Keep up the good work!
I dunno why, but the Stan Lee cameo in this one always gets me a little teary eyed. "Superheroes? In New York? Gimme a break!" There would be no superheroes in New York if it wasn't for you, Stan Lee ❤️ RIP, Excelsior!
Fun Fact: in Iron Man 2, Tony had a problem with Whiplash's electric whips. Since Tony likes to upgrade his technology by improving faults, this new armour absorbs electricity/lightning.
Omg, I've never thought about that. Like Stark learning from his mistakes and improving the suit to deal with each weakness he finds with it. But I never thought that the reason why he absorbed Thor's lightning was because of whiplash!!
@@vincentking2552 Its literally Stark's personality.... he encounters problems and he really must find a solution. Its the biggest reason why he even signed the Sokovia Accords. I think one of the problems he encountered that should be visible to viewers was the "icing problem" of the Mark 2 suit in Iron Man 1. Also in Spiderman homecoming when they dropped off Peter from the airport to his house, Happy handed the suitcase to Peter. Tony must have added the parachute to it after what happened to Rhodey in Civil War.
That's right, he adapts to every weakness with his next armor. My theory is that is exactly why they killed him in endgame. He woulda found a way to counter Thanos indefinitely and it woulda made him super OP so the easier option was to kill him off
I mean that makes a LOT of sence. They are in germany and honestly even just being a vet or alive during the time is good enough guess for anyone to get it.
You gotta hand it to Hill in the beginning. All she had to hear was “Barton has turned” and she IMMEDIATELY turns and fires with the intent to kill. Girl’s committed to her job 🤣🤣
Spoiler comment warning (Captain America Winter Soldier) … … … … … I like that when Shield goes through its big collapse with Hydra, she moves on to work for Stark. Good employee to have
Hi Emme! Re: Thor’s hammer. It’s not just that the hammer is heavy, it’s that there is a “worthiness” spell on it. When Odin banished Thor at the beginning of the Thor film, he recited that spell. Now, only someone worthy to lift it can do so, even if they have the strength to lift it otherwise.
mmhmm. I actually think it's quite "light" to the one who is found "worthy". Which is why Thor can swing it around like it's nothing, or as light as a feather. But to everyone else it's so incredibly heavy they aren't able to lift it. That's what I got out of his hammer and the physics around it.
@@CrazeeAdam Exactly this. All you have to remember is the quote, "It's terribly well balanced" followed by "Well if there is too much weight you lose power on the swing".
@@Jessica_Roth There is more to that so called spoiler if thats what you want to call it. There are so many tiny details that connect the movies and shows that you can't catch them all once through.
42:00 She had a little scene that got deleted where she talked to Captain America after serving him his coffee at her workplace before it all went down. Fun fact: this is Ashley Johnson, voice of Ellie in The Last of Us games
Unusual castings in The Avengers: the Russian interrogating Black Widow is played by award-winning director/playwright/screenwriter Jerzy Skolimowski. One of his claims to fame is he co-wrote Roman Polanski's classic Knife in the Water (1962). The security guard who finds Bruce Banner naked is none other than an aged Harry Dean Stanton, star of the film Alien. He actually asks Bruce if HE is an alien (wink, wink, nod, nod).
One thing to remember about Bruce/Hulk. Fear and survival ties into anger so if Bruce is scared enough or hurt or his life is at stake then that can cause him to change into Hulk. Yes, that was Robin from "How I met your mother." Her real name is Cobie Smulders. That guy who smiled at the end of the first end credit scene. You will find out who he is in upcoming movies.
23:06 there’s a deleted scene in the Ed Norton hulk 31:14 Loki’s mind trick didn’t work because of Tonys arc reactor 35:02 one of the biggest moments in history
Fun fact: in the shawarma restaurant end credit scene, Chris Evans (Captain America) sits the entire time with his hand covering his face because he had grown a beard for another project he was doing.
22:47 I'm some versions of the avengers Tony grew up constantly hearing his dad talk about captain America/Steve and how great he was whilst hardly seeing his dad enough to actually receive praise from him himself. So the animosity is kinda justified
in the end credit scene in the shwarma place, notice that Cap keeps a hand over his face. that's because they were called back after main shooting had finished & Chris Evans had already started growing his beard out for his next role. they also used a skin prosthetic in between the beard & his hand.
the 10 bucks werent a tip, fury said "10 bucks i can surprise you" or something like that and it was the bet so he gave him 10 bucks cause he was rly surprised ^^ also hawkeye never used a crossbow in throw ... hes a bow guy crossbows are an insult to him
THIS REALLY kicks off the mCU as one extrnded story. tiny details later exploed into entire movies and characters. if you are hooked now, you will have to watch all them. at least thrpough all the avengers movies. oh , and that guy has a thing for death.
The waitress is in a deleted scene with Captain America. Steve is at the restaurant drawing (Steve's actually an artist and a soldier) and contemplating whether he should meet Tony Stark, since Tony's the son of his friend. Stan Lee is in the seat next to him and after the waitress serves Steve, Stan says that he should ask for her phone number. On a side note, the actress playing the waitress is Ashley Johnson who is a member of Critical Role and a voice actress. She is the voice of Ellie from The Last of Us.
12:07 he tipped him because of the bet they made at 8:41 42:00 she's not a significant character, just a random civilian so that the movie could feel even more real, with real civilian lives at risk
Jeremy Renner, the man who plays Hawkeye/Clint (the guy who is good with the bow) recently got in a horrible accident and is currently in the hospital... he may lose his leg :( Just some sad trivia for you. But this movie is great! It's when we all knew, yeah, this was for real and going to keep going. 42:00 fyi! That's Ashley Johnson. You may know her from her video game voice acting work. She played Ellie in the hit video game(s) The Last of Us and The Last of Us Pt. 2 (both are incredible works of story telling that you'd have to play to believe). She was also in the animated TV show Recess! (may be a little old for you to know), Teen Titans (as recurring character Terra), the animated show Ben 10, and much much more. :)
When I saw this movie as a 8 year old, I just couldn't stop telling my mom that we should see the Avengers which we did and I saw everybody while just loving the heroes finally Assemble at the very end because in the comics, Loki was the first Avengers villain, Awesome reaction to this fantastic Avengers film Emme.
Good reaction. In Marvel comics, there was quite a long time when heroes NEVER first met each other normally. Instead, they'd have a really stupid misunderstanding, or one or the other would be 'triggered' somehow, or a villain would be manipulating things from behind the scenes. So the heroes would spend half the comic beating the cr#p out of each other before they FINALLY figured it all out. There was kind of a small callback or two to that in this movie.
He wasn't tipping Nick fury. He was paying up the bet. Remember when Captain America said nothing could surprise him anymore and Nick replied $10 says you're wrong. Well he surprised him and now he gets $10
Great reaction, Em, fun fact... Darth Vader's breathing sound was a recording of a scuba breathing regulator being used hence why iron man sounds like him when he is underwater.
If you want more Agent Coulson, watch Agents of Shield. It's an amazing journey and series to dive into. I won't say anymore but if you loved the MCU and that world, you'll love AoS.
Nothing is more epic than seeing some of the greatest heroes come together and work as a team against a common enemy. I can't tell you how many times I've seen this in the theater back when the tickets were cheaper. If you thought this is the best crossover...it's only going to get better.
I pray one day you eventually get to Agents of Shield. Halfway through s1 it turned into the best show on TV. Coulson’s so damn good in that (don’t really think it’s a spoiler that’s he’s alive since he was the main draw of the show and came back in like the first 10 minutes of ep 1)
"This woman..." points at Ashley Johnson "...they've shown her a lot. Is she relevant?" Oh, girl, you have *no idea.* 😁 But no, in this movie she just represents the point of view of the common street person and the superheroes' positive effect on her. A few of her scenes were cut, so you don't much understand the ones that remain, but don't worry, it's not vital for the plot.
8:20 What a hilarious thought, Emme. If it does happen, I sure hope its well executed and they lay alot of groundwork for it. I sure hope IF IT DOES HAPPEN that it doesnt feel awkward and rushed.
He wasn't giving Nick Fury a tip, he was paying off the bet that Fury had made, when he said "Ten bucks says you're wrong," when Captain America said that he doubted they could surprise him.
Glad you enjoyed this great movie. Some FYI: CAP WASN'T TIPPING FURY. He gave him $10 from their gym discussion bet. "$10 says you will (still be surprised by the things you see today)". LOKI'S PLAY: The Avengers bickering on the SHIELD helicarrier turned into real rage because of Loki's scepter. Loki intended to unleash the Hulk. THOR'S HAMMER: It isn't too heavy for Hulk. It is enchanted by Odin's magic that only the worthy can lift it.
The waitress in New York actually had an extra scene earlier in the film that was cut, which also included a Stan Lee cameo. Cap is hanging out at the diner outside of Stark Tower, and she serves him coffee or something. Stan is sitting at the table next to Cap, and tells Cap that he should ask for her number. Another bit of trivia is that the waitress is played by Ashley Johnson, who played Ellie in The Last Of Us games and from the D&D series Critical Role.
The Avengers was the first film in history to reach $200 million opening weekend. It changed the game in Hollywood and made all the studios rethink their entire infrastructure.
Of course they learned the wrong lessons from it, decided to start spamming out way too many films with as many cameos and crossovers as possible, bigger CGI budgets but worse writing, and because they were popular they became a target for political actors within the company. The effects weren't immediate because it takes years for new projects to get greenlit and produced, but this was the beginning of the end for the MCU, a victim of its own success.
I still can't get over the fact that the waitress actress is who voices Ellie in the Last of Us. Especially since she was supposed to legitimately have a bigger role originally.
Crazy long shot but you would really enjoy the tv show "Agents of Shield"! Gives a lot of extra marvel content and context between the movies, with a really great cast of characters!
@@CrazeeAdam Once she had seen Iron Man 3, the groundwork is laid to begin the series. There are 7 seasons, 136 episodes. I recommend reactors do the Agent Carter series before Endgame. [2 seasons, 18 episodes] The approach I recommend: A prologue episode before each season based on your experience in the MCU. Make your predictions. Watch each episode on Patreon. Watch every second, including post credit scenes. There are mid season breaks. After the season, do an epilogue episode to process the series to date. The editor can do each episode for RUclips or story arcs. Maximum yield of 150 episodes for AOS, 22 for Agent Carter. I would cover these two series before diving into the Disney+ era. Plenty of content for years to come. The MCU is always expanding.
No spoilers but when the guy with the weird chin appeared in the first end credit scene, everyone who read the comics recognized him. It was an amazing Easter egg gift to the comic book readers.
Still my favorite out of the marvel films, still one of my favorite movies of all time. It's so iconic. I saw it 4 times in theatres when it was out. The only movie I ever went multiple times to see.
22:43 Banner was a world renowned scientist before the hulk. Tony respects him more because not everything special about him came out of a bottle. Cap had a sense of justice and personal courage, but hadn't contributed to the world in a significant way until he became a scientist's lab rat. Tony also probably resents Steve a bit because Howard talked about Steve a lot, but was known (to Tony) to lack interest in his own son directly.
42:05 That’s Ashley Johnson! She’s the actress that played Ellie in one of Naughty Dog’s well-acclaimed award-winning video games ever made, “The Last of Us”! I was also surprised that she was in the film, too!
The “star bystander”, as you sop perfectly described her, was going to be set up as a love interest for Captain America. That ended up being scrapped, so although she was featured a lot in this movie, she doesn’t play any major part in the later installments.
YOU are one of the VERY few people who laughed at Black Widow's remark " I don't see how that is party." . I guess that most people miss it, or think of it as a "throw away" line. You also might want to include a WARNING to keep people from "Spoiling the movies that you have yet to see.
"It's sort of like a Jekyll and hyde situation" Precisely, Hulk was inspired by Jekyll and Hyde. Hulk is an entirely separate entity from Bruce, that's why He was referring to him as the other guy... Bruce Banner has various personas that can emerge in various forms(from skin tone(Green/Grey) to Power levels etc).. Some Hulk personas are: 1. Savage Hulk(the one in this movie and the one most people are familiar with) 2. Joe fixit(This is a Gray Skinned Hulk,he's a very cunning persona). 3. Green Scar 4. Devil Hulk etc... There are so much more Personas in Bruce... if only Mcu had done Hulk justice, there's so much Mcu has brushed over concerning the Hulk(be it power wise and character wise). Anyhoo lol as you can see I'm a huge Hulk fan, sorry for the lengthy comment. Loved your reaction btw.
37:30-I remember watching this film in theaters as part of a friend's birthday party (it was also my first time really watching the MCU). When this scene came on, everyone in the audience stood up and applauded. I didn't even know Hulk said, "Puny god!" until rewatching the film because no one could hear it from the applause. For more Coulson, I recommend the tv series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
the "star bystander" Is played by Ashley Johnson. Primarily, she is known as the voice of Ellie in "The Last of Us" video game. She originally had a slightly larger part, but it was cut.
The reason Stan Lee isn't seen until the end is because that scene is a late addition. If you check out the deleted scenes (they're on RUclips) you'll note three significant parts: • There's a whole framing sequence of Hill (aka "Robin") being interrogated by the Council about what a disaster this was, can we trust the Avengers, etc. I think that Joss Whedon (the writer/director) was right to cut this, because it's too downbeat even with the eventual triumph. This is the first Avengers movie, we shouldn't be calling the very idea into question so soon. (OTOH, there were some bits in there about whether or not Fury and Hill can trust each other that probably should have been saved.) • Waitress girl (we never learn her name) gets a whole storyline, a "how the battle looks to the ordinary person" sort of thing. (There's an intertwining story with a cop, too.). Again, I think Whedon was right to cut this; it's unnecessary and we don't really know these characters. • But there are other scenes about how lonely Steve is, how awful it feels to be a fish out of water like he is and so on. I wish they'd been able to keep those. And in one of those, he's at an outdoor cafe, sketching a skyscraper and Waitress Girl comes and serves him and flirts with him. And as she walks away, Stan Lee is at the next table and he tells Steve "what are you waiting for? Ask her out!"…but of course Cap doesn't. He's not ready for that, and not only because he's still in love with Peggy. So in the original version, you wouldn't have to wait for the end to see Stan. Good catch, though.
i am really starting to like the Picture in Picture commentary more each time you use it instead of cutting away to full screen commentary. is that something you've considered doing more of? all in all you slay me with the things that come out of your mouth, i have laughed thru every single one of these!!! thanks for making my day brighter!!
The shawarma post-credit scene was actually filmed AFTER the film premiere. The director had the idea to do something else to cap the film, and they snuck the cast out after the premiere to a local shop they had set up. Chris Evans (Cap) had to hold his hand to his face because they had a fake prosthetic on him to cover the beard he grew for another role, and it wasn't holding on as well as they wanted. They filmed it overnight and added it to the movie in time for its opening date across the world a few days later.
funny thing is with the blueberrys that RDJ was eating when they were bickering - they weren't supposed to be in the movie. He snuck them onto set to snack on, and it worked well with his character so they kept it
8:20 - "Maybe he can find Peggy's great great great granddaughter and crack on her" 17:17 - "I thought we were all going to be fighting together, not against each other" Us - "Um....yeah"
Tony isnt mean to Bruce because he respects his intellect. The special thing about Bruce Banner is not only the Hulk, is that hes supposed to be a genius. (Something they seemed to have forgotten in later installments but lets not dwell on that)
I am from Germany and i bet there are fewer US citizens speaking german than the Germans speaking english lol. Love your reactions, just started to watch this and i am looking forward to the rest of the series. Keep it up!!!
Not only did they recast the Hulk, this is the first movie where the actor was the basis for the creature. Mark Ruffalo wore a motion capture suit so he could physically interact on set. The Hulk's movements & expression were based on that, as well as Hulk's voice. I rather like the effect. For me it's the first time that Hulk isn't a cartoon character. Notice that Thor hesitates just a moment before he picks the hammer up after escaping the cell. He's worried for a moment that he has become unworthy again. edit: Yes, the waitress did originally have more scenes, but they edited them out for length. She meets Steve where she works as he makes sketches of the buildings near by. When Cap was fighting some Chuitari, his mask got pulled off, and she recognized Steve as the sketch guy, so that last video clip was her literally thanking Cap for saving her life.
Awesome watch! I haven’t seen this one in a while, but it is so impressive how they seeded so much future story here! And yeah! Robin Scherbatsky! Let’s go to the mall! I so love HIMYM! 😀
Hi! I will nag from time to time to: After ENDGAME there is a signature Credit scene, with the actors autographs. Would be nice if you include that. Can make a nice "short" as well for your channel. We are far from there. Thanks for reacting to this MARVEL saga - you are doing GREAT! Thanks from Sweden. PS. That is a nice dog, I have a Jack Russell, remember they need a lot of PLAY, sprint running - but no Marathons, they are sprinters and need challenges, hunt stuff. If a JRT is understimulated it will bark, be agressive, pace around not "behave". With right training IT'S THE BEST!
Hey, Emme! "Avengers" was a game-changer and the proof of concept of Feige's grand plan! Team movies weren't anything new as we had already seen the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Mystery Men, Watchmen and the Incredibles in action by this point but a multi-franchise crossover event hadn't been done since the Universal horror cycle of the '40's and, certainly, not on a scale this immense! This movie is the very definition of a thrilling Hollywood blockbuster and it shattered every record! Who knew we were only being teed up for something even bigger? Marvel Comics assembled "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" in September 1963, the same month the X-Men debuted and two years after the Fantastic Four. Whereas the other groups were privately financed and comprised of members who were linked by blood or genes, the Avengers were a more motley crew subject to government oversight. Their headquarters was a mansion gifted to the team by Tony Stark located on 890 Fifth Avenue in New York City nestled on the eastern edge of Central Park complete with a butler named Jarvis to attend their needs. As in the movie, the team would travel around the globe in sleek compact planes called Quinjets. The five founding members were Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man, Wasp and Hulk. The team found Captain America in the ice and thawed him out in the fourth issue. He was granted honorary founding status and has been with the group through almost every incarnation often leading as Chairman. As in the film, it was Loki's mischief that brought the heroes together whereupon they decided they should gather regularly to tackle any situation that was too much for any one them alone. Borrowing again from Marvel's alternate universe, the 1610 Ultimate Universe, the Chitauri are introduced as Loki's invasion force in the film since the Ultimate-equivalent of the Avengers united for the first time to battle that species. Credit goes to the Wasp's Janet van Dyne for coming up with their name, the Avengers. Over the years, the roster would rotate frequently as a diverse group of beings filled the ranks of the organization including humans, superhumans, mutants, inhumans, atlanteans, eternals, sorcerers, androids, aliens, demi-gods and deities. The team's battle cry was simple: "Avengers Assemble!" Joss Whedon was an ideal choice for director. Having cut his teeth on "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" and "Firefly", he understood how to ground fantasy and sci-fi with clashing team dynamics. As a comic book enthusiast and writer, he was well-versed with the Marvel sandbox and this movie hums under his sure hand. As this is a team movie, the cast is a bunch of familiar faces with a couple of new additions and everybody gets their moment to shine. Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark aka Iron Man, Gwyneth Paltrow as Virginia 'Pepper' Potts, Paul Bettany as JARVIS and Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow carry over from the "Iron Man" films. Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson aka Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki Laufeyson aka Loki, Stellan Skarsgard as Dr. Erik Selvig and Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton aka Hawkeye carry over from "Thor". Chris Evans as Steve Rogers aka Captain America carries over from "The First Avenger". Samuel L. Jackson as Col. Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson and Maximiliano Hernandez as Agent Jasper Sitwell return as the faces of SHIELD with new addition Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, right-hand woman to Fury. Mark Ruffalo replaces Edward Norton as Bruce Banner aka Hulk but Lou Ferrigno remains on hand as the voice of Hulk. Powers Boothe and Jenny Agutter play World Security Council members who carry over into "Agents of SHIELD" as Gideon Malick and "Winter Soldier" as Hawley, respectively. Whedon alum Alexis Denisof plays the Chitauri spokesman known as The Other in heavy prosthetics who appears again in "Guardians of the Galaxy". Surprisingly, distinguished Polish writer-director-actor Jerzy Skolimowski pops up as corrupt Russian General Luchkov who gets outplayed by Natasha. Esteemed character actor Harry Dean Stanton has a wry bit as a custodian who witnesses the Hulk's transformation, New York character actor Robert Clohessy has a funny bit as an NYPD Sergeant who questions Cap's credentials, veteran character actor Kenneth Tigar has a moving bit as a defiant old German man, prolific character actor Jamie McShane has a quick televised bit as a celebratory bystander, all-American character actor Warren Kole plays a SHIELD tech on the helicarrier bridge and Ashley Johnson, the voice of Ellie in "The Last of Us", shows up as Beth, a grateful waitress. Enver Gjokaj, who would later be cast as Daniel Sousa in "Agent Carter" and "Agents of SHIELD", briefly appears in an unrelated role as a New York cop! TRIVIA: 1. Harry Dean Stanton was famously killed by the xenomorph in "Alien" so, when he asks a naked Bruce Banner if he's an alien, it's a tongue-in-cheek nod to his former role. 2. RDJ ad-libbed a lot of dialogue including the faux-Shakespeare routine with Thor, the "Galaga" quip on the bridge, the shawarma comment when he's revived and the character nicknames like Legolas for Hawkeye. 3. Mark Ruffalo ad-libbed the roar that awakens Tony from unconsciousness after he falls back to Earth. 4. Chitauri is Zulu for 'serpent race from the sky'. 5. Jeremy Renner was trained by Olympic archers in the use of his bow. 6. Shawarma sales skyrocketed after this movie! EASTER EGGS: 1. Loki's body temperature registers as blue on the infrared monitor trained on his cell because of his Frost-Giant physiology. 2. Odin's pet ravens Huginn (Thought) and Muninn (Memory) fly past Thor and Loki on the outcrop after Loki is taken from the Quinjet. 3. One of the trading cards in Coulson's collectible set features the cover of "Captain America" # 1 which illustrates Cap socking Hitler on the jaw. 4. The mind-controlling Chitauri scepter makes its first appearance in the saga and is the second alien artifact of power to affect our heroes after the space-spanning Tesseract. CAMEO: 1. Stan Lee appears in a cameo as a chess-playing senior citizen who expresses disbelief about superheroes being active in New York. END-CREDIT SCENES: 1. The Other reports the Chitauri defeat to Thanos who smiles at the prospect of 'courting death'. This is Thanos' first appearance in the saga. His smile is a reference to his comic counterpart who actually is in love with the personification of Death. 2. The exhausted team gorges themselves on shawarma post-battle having taken Tony up on his suggestion. The next chronological stop in the MCU is the ONE-SHOT featurette called "ITEM 47" about Chitauri tech falling into the wrong hands. It is found on the "Avengers" blu-ray or on DPlus. Don't forget to watch it or the AGENT CARTER ONE-SHOT which can be paired with "Captain America: The First Avenger" or be viewed as a coda to the "AGENT CARTER" series. If you want to see "AGENT CARTER", the first 8-episode season is EXCEPTIONAL, occurs before the One-Shot and can be seen after "Avengers" as an interlude between phases. The "Man Out of Time" DELETED SCENE which includes Stan Lee should not have been cut from the film and is definitely worth a look!

@@CrazeeAdam yeah that's the point of the hammer
@@CrazeeAdam Exactly this. All you have to remember is the quote, "It's terribly well balanced" followed by "Well if there is too much weight you lose power on the swing".
@@cbminecrafter5886 No need for spoilers, surely. Perhaps you could delete that?
@@Jessica_Roth There is more to that so called spoiler if thats what you want to call it. There are so many tiny details that connect the movies and shows that you can't catch them all once through.
"This wouldn't work if they didn't have something to AVENGE"
Coulson was trying to say AVENGE.
42:00 She had a little scene that got deleted where she talked to Captain America after serving him his coffee at her workplace before it all went down. Fun fact: this is Ashley Johnson, voice of Ellie in The Last of Us games
It's also contains the original Stan Lee cameo. Stan encourages Steve to ask her for the digits.
thats just a fact
Chrissie from Growing Pains! Oh wait, am I dating myself? It's the daughter from What Women Want!
That was a fun reaction. The Hulk smashing Loki scene is one of those memes that will last forever 😂
In the theater, a lot of people reacted to the ragdoll attack and missed the Hulk's comment and Loki wheezing.
He actually asks Bruce if HE is an alien (wink, wink, nod, nod).
this is and remains one of the best superhero movies. 4 years passed and all the movies prepared us for this moment, the union of the Marvel heroes
I think its better to have 6 films spanning 4 years, rather than having 20 projects within 2 to 3 years. Were slowly getting fatigued
Winter Soldier gave it a run for its money just two years later
I worked at the movie theater when this came out and it was an absolute NIGHTMARE

@@officialmonarchmusic what do you mean why???
That woman at the end that got saved by Captain America is Ashley Johnson who is known for her role of "Ellie" in The Last of Us game series
I love the whole Hulk, Loki, "puny god" thing. lol
No it's Batman.

Fun Fact: Mark Ruffalo was originally the director Louis Leterrier's first choice for The Incredible Hulk.
I’m glad that you’re taking your time with it since there is a lot of Marvel projects coming out this year as well as the next few years.
Fun fact: in the shawarma restaurant end credit scene, Chris Evans (Captain America) sits the entire time with his hand covering his face because he had grown a beard for another project he was doing.
He also kept his beard in Avengers: Infinity War.
22:47 I'm some versions of the avengers Tony grew up constantly hearing his dad talk about captain America/Steve and how great he was whilst hardly seeing his dad enough to actually receive praise from him himself.
So the animosity is kinda justified
It's kind of a tradition for heroes to initially fight each other until they figure out they're on the same side.
in the end credit scene in the shwarma place, notice that Cap keeps a hand over his face. that's because they were called back after main shooting had finished & Chris Evans had already started growing his beard out for his next role. they also used a skin prosthetic in between the beard & his hand.
the 10 bucks werent a tip, fury said "10 bucks i can surprise you" or something like that and it was the bet so he gave him 10 bucks cause he was rly surprised ^^

6:36 Yes, Marvel had conflicts with Edward Norton so for this movie and the rest of the mcu, the Hulk was played by Mark Ruffalo.
Simply put, wasn't he being a full-tilt diva on set?
@@Rainbow.Pegacorn.Cosplay Fun Fact: Mark Ruffalo was originally the director Louis Leterrier's first choice for The Incredible Hulk.
12:07 he tipped him because of the bet they made at 8:41
42:00 she's not a significant character, just a random civilian so that the movie could feel even more real, with real civilian lives at risk
Fun fact about the girl at 42:00: that's Ashley Johnson, aka Ellie from the 'The Last of Us' videogames.
There was a deleted scene with her and cap. She was a waitress for the restaurant Cap was eating at
Jeremy Renner, the man who plays Hawkeye/Clint (the guy who is good with the bow) recently got in a horrible accident and is currently in the hospital... he may lose his leg :(
Just some sad trivia for you.
Woohoo! Avengers! It's only the start and you've gotta be my favorite MCU reacter
I can't wait for you to get to some of the later stuff!
Recently been watching the series and I like how the continuity behind the series is on point.
Nothing is more epic than seeing some of the greatest heroes come together and work as a team against a common enemy. I can't tell you how many times I've seen this in the theater back when the tickets were cheaper. If you thought this is the best crossover...it's only going to get better.
“Archery dude” 😂😂😂😂 that’s funny
EMME: "Surely they won't regret such a fast tattoo decision."

Fun fact, most of the principal cast members *did* get an Avengers themed tattoo.
29:14 - I maintain that Harry Dean Stanton asking Bruce Banner if he's an "alien" is one of the prime meta lines in movie-dom.
31:11 "Is this . . . the bracelet?" No. The staff didn't actually touch Tony. It touched the reactor in his chest.
CRACKING ON WITH PEGGYS GREAT GREAT GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER LMAO the love island is coming through
"This woman..." points at Ashley Johnson "...they've shown her a lot. Is she relevant?"
Oh, girl, you have *no idea.* 😁
But no, in this movie she just represents the point of view of the common street person and the superheroes' positive effect on her.
Some FYI:
CAP WASN'T TIPPING FURY.
The hammer isn't necessarily heavy more that has a spell put on it by Odin to only be lifted by anyone worthy
They were near Stark tower which aoet of explains the big ugly building xomment though it is bit said at that time (i don’t think)
The Avengers was the first film in history to reach $200 million opening weekend. It changed the game in Hollywood and made all the studios rethink their entire infrastructure.
Technically adjusting for inflation it wasn’t the first but no doubt it ushered in the era of blockbuster movies we are in today
Love to watch you, watching Marvel movies!!
The "star bystander" is Ashley Johnson, the best player on Critical Role! And a pretty accomplished voice actress from what I understand.
Pike Trickfoot, I knew she sounded familiar.
33:50
Cap: "Did you pass American History before you became an officer? I hate the 21st century already."
I still can't get over the fact that the waitress actress is who voices Ellie in the Last of Us. Especially since she was supposed to legitimately have a bigger role originally.

6:29 Fun Fact: Mark Ruffalo was originally the director Louis Leterrier's first choice for the role of Bruce Banner in The Incredible Hulk. 19:03
Crazy long shot but you would really enjoy the tv show "Agents of Shield"! Gives a lot of extra marvel content and context between the movies, with a really great cast of characters!
Well, I wouldn't mind her watching it, but it's a bit of a long show, so maybe watch it along side the movies?
@@CrazeeAdam Once she had seen Iron Man 3, the groundwork is laid to begin the series. There are 7 seasons, 136 episodes.
I recommend reactors do the Agent Carter series before Endgame. [2 seasons, 18 episodes]
The approach I recommend: A prologue episode before each season based on your experience in the MCU.
I recently been watching the series and I like how the continuity behind the series is on point.
No spoilers but when the guy with the weird chin appeared in the first end credit scene, everyone who read the comics recognized him. It was an amazing Easter egg gift to the comic book readers.
We recognized him from the sentence before his face was shown
There is only one villain who'd smile at the words "To Court Death"
Still my favorite out of the marvel films, still one of my favorite movies of all time. It's so iconic. I saw it 4 times in theatres when it was out. The only movie I ever went multiple times to see.
God that interaction with Tony and Steve was so good...and means so much. The whole "Lay down on the wire" talk between them.
43:13 Funnily enough, in the comics this guy literally plans his evil deeds in order to court Death. 😃

"It's sort of like a Jekyll and hyde situation"
Precisely, Hulk was inspired by Jekyll and Hyde.

Is no one gonna point out she's also in critical role
In the comics, the Avengers did fight against each other before joining forces against Loki of all villains.
Remember Hawkeye jumping from the building, it will come backaround way later if you follow the Marvel Journey to the end.
23:07 that dialogue references a deleted scene from the beginning of the Incredible Hulk.
The reason Stan Lee isn't seen until the end is because that scene is a late addition. If you check out the deleted scenes (they're on RUclips) you'll note three significant parts:
• There's a whole framing sequence of Hill (aka "Robin") being interrogated by the Council about what a disaster this was, can we trust the Avengers, etc. I think that Joss Whedon (the writer/director) was right to cut this, because it's too downbeat even with the eventual triumph. This is the first Avengers movie, we shouldn't be calling the very idea into question so soon.
(OTOH, there were some bits in there about whether or not Fury and Hill can trust each other that probably should have been saved.)
• Waitress girl (we never learn her name) gets a whole storyline, a "how the battle looks to the ordinary person" sort of thing.
"Court death" haha! Yeah, Thanos is very into courting Death! :P
Excited to see this pop up in my recommendations Emme! Gonna be fun!
i am really starting to like the Picture in Picture commentary more each time you use it instead of cutting away to full screen commentary. is that something you've considered doing more of? all in all you slay me with the things that come out of your mouth, i have laughed thru every single one of these!!! thanks for making my day brighter!!

" if they didn't have something to..." AVENGE I believe was going to be Agent Coulsons last words

17:17 - "I thought we were all going to be fighting together, not against each other"

Tony isnt mean to Bruce because he respects his intellect. The special thing about Bruce Banner is not only the Hulk, is that hes supposed to be a genius. (Something they seemed to have forgotten in later installments but lets not dwell on that)
Hawkeye gave a lot of information to Loki, about a variety of things
Like always say, don't worry about Coulson. They got him to Tahiti. It's a magical place.

Loki is a wonderful character -- very complex, and played by the perfect actor.

In response to emme - Loki has a long character arc in the MCU, including two seasons of a spinoff TV series.
Thor's hammer can be lifted by "worthiness". It's heavy if you're not worthy but if you are worthy it weighs like a hammer would.
Emme. You might want to check out "Agents of Shield" (at least the first episode), now that you've seen the Avengers. You'll see why. 😉
I think this movie is great, it will always be great, did everything that supposed to, and it contains my favorite dialogue scene of all time.
The team's battle cry was simple: "Avengers Assemble!"
Joss Whedon was an ideal choice for director.
TRIVIA:
EASTER EGGS:
CAMEO:
1. Stan Lee appears in a cameo as a chess-playing senior citizen who expresses disbelief about superheroes being active in New York.
END-CREDIT SCENES:
Im just saying, after you've gotten to the point of watching all the Avengers films, you should watch Marvel's Agents Of SHIELD. It's a long series, but it's SOOOO good. Best series in the MCU imo. It's also just so good. The characters, writing etc is some of the best in the MCU
