- Most Hollywood movies have happy endings, but things are sometimes different in our world. Roxy (the Labrador mix) and Chloe (the Shepherd mix) lived together by the railroad tracks for AT LEAST four years, terrified of humans, and survived only thanks to Carolina Morales, who fed them since 2019!!!
When Carolina noticed a visible decline in Chloe's health, she knew she had to do something. Luckily she found the Hope For Paws rescue videos here on #RUclips, so she emailed us about this challenging situation.
When dealing with two terrified dogs who depend on each other, I don't like using traps because if one dog sees the other dog trapped, I may lose one forever, and it's just not a chance I am willing to take.
Yes, these rescues are stressful, but it beats dying alone on the streets - especially with Chloe's condition that deteriorated very quickly 😢

@Max B Even if that is true, if this stress was enough to accelerate her passing, she would have passed within a few days anyway. Better for it to be with Hope For paws, cared for, loved and with a full stomach rather than hungry on the streets.
That was so emotional, so sorry to see the older dog didn’t make it but she had some love at the end. Pity they were not rescued 4 years ago. ❤

Great work rescuing them both,at least Chloe was able to feel a warm bath and love before her passing .

@@elzaaltmann Did you not see that Chloe was COVERED in ticks and fleas?!? A bath and a shampoo with blue Dawn dish washing liquid, as they used here, removes fleas and ticks. This would have provided immense relief for poor Chloe. Additionally, ridding herself of years worth of street filth would’ve made Chloe feel relaxed and infinitely better.
But 4 years? Not understanding that part.

Sad that she died, but thanks to Carolina for feeding and looking out for them and finding you for the rescue. She died in a good place, knowing love and care. Now over the Rainbow Bridge to run free and happy forevermore.
She fed those dogs for four years and she couldn't find help earlier? I'm sorry, but what was she waiting for? For the dogs to get sick? Well, she did it - she waited too long. Heart conditions can be managed if treated early. In what world is it normal for two dogs to live on the streets?

Don’t know where you’ve been but cats and dogs live on the streets of country’s all over the world. Not ideal of course but that’s just the way things are, unfortunately. As for your self righteous, arrogant evil judgmental attitude towards that lady who did the best she could with what knowledge she had, may you rot in hell.
@@vickinovak8014 Not going th happen. HFP is not the only animal rescue in LA. Food is not everything. It was said in the video, that the dogs have been deprived of human touch for 4 years. Tell me it is all right. I've been rescuing cats for over ten years now. After 11 hours of work every day, I go and feed strays, I do TNR, foster, adopt out, I provide veterinary help. You can always do more.

Thank you for getting these two sweet girls out of the deplorable conditions they endured for years and getting them to safety. You gave Chloe the loving care she needed at the end of her life and allowed her to cross the rainbow bridge with peace, comfort and dignity. Roxy now has the chance of a lifetime with the loving home and family she has deserved all along. I am proud to be a monthly donor because of all the work HFP does for the betterment of needy animals who need a helping hand. Again, thank you for caring and rescuing these precious souls.💕🐾🐾

I've seen dogs grieve for a long time. One time, almost a year. It's so sad. I'm glad Roxy made it and hopefully get a loving home. She deserves that at a minimum. God bless her and you for saving them. Chloe will be watching from above, I know.
Little Chloe didn't pass alone and scared, she finally let go when she knew she was safe and loved, and so was Roxy.... Shattered my heart and I'm crying at her loss..... It's simply not fair.... I went through this with a gravely ill, elderly rectory yard cat here in New Orleans. She was just too far gone, by the time we rescued her. But she was cared for and passed in a safe, clean warm environment..love surrounded.....Chloe also knew kindness and care at the end. If she had been a pet, she might have received treatment for her heart issues soon enough to have helped her. We can never know. Sadly, sometimes it simply...turns out this way. But no good gesture is ever lost. You always do wonderful work....

I'm grateful u rescued them, but sad at the death of the German shepherd. She was old and very sweet, and the other dog is grieving.

So sad she passed away, But what tremendous love & kindness they were given as she passed away & the love & compassion Chloe's receiving now. In her last moments Chloe knew love & compassion, much better ending then in the streets leaving Roxy totally alone. I hope Roxy finds a loving home soon and maybe another friend to help ease the loss of Chloe. Sadly like you said this is the reality of rescuing. Not every one has a happy ending. Thank you for all you do I KNOW this is not easy for any of you. Big thanks to Carolina for being there for Chloe ( Roxy too) in her final years and making sure she had a safe place to pass over❤

Lastly, I implore those whoever sees a wandering animal, especially without any human accompaniment, to PLEASE IMMEDIATELY SEEK FOR HELP! Please do not take years before calling an animal rescuer, requesting for help. Perhaps, if Chloe & Roxy were rescued 4 yrs earlier, it's more than likely possible that Chloe may still be alive today. Because every day that pass, Chloe's illness gets worse; as such, her chance of survival rate decreases & her rate of demise will increase, which is sadly what exactly happened to beautiful girl, Chloe.🙏🐶😢🐕😭

They finally felt love before Chloe went to Heaven. I had a dog that had heart failure, All day she knew she was dying. My wife finally realized it was more than her not feeling ok so we took her to the vet. Bella had blue gums and I didn't even know it. The vet had to put her to sleep because her heart was just barely beating, more like quivering. I comforted her on the gurney laying my head on her head as I heard her take her last breath. That was eight years ago and I remember the sound like it was ten minutes ago.

How terrible that no one tried to get them rescued in all that time. Four years is a long time to be living like that. Thank goodness they had each other.
Life in the streets is very tough on any living being. The elements can do harm to the body besides the daily unpredictable danger. Poor Roxy and Chloe were rescued at last! Then for Chloe to die peacefully of her illness leaving Roxy on her own, it was such a sad goodbye. Hope Roxy's heart will mend with time and she'll be spending her days in comfy beds and loving arms. Thank you, HFP.
This was just to sad for me, I wish both had survived and got adopted together. I'm happy Chloe got to be comforted in her final days.
