    Great Idea, just my constructive criticism though. looks like its backwards to me, Now you may be a lefty? but i would possibly improve it by swapping ends so the saw was run by my right hand and the log holder by my left or even a foot pedal would be better? from the same side of the rollers instead of reaching across the log and putting yourself in a precarious situation with a running saw in my left hand? Also, I think the overall height of the machine will eventually get to you, possibly shorten it i know why you did it but these Are just my observations, I still commend you on a job well done and great forward thinking. Merry Christmas

    • @khtractors
      @khtractors  3 года назад +1

      The saw mount would need to be more complicated for it to work on the other end in order for the motor to clear and for the saw bar to have free range of travel. I’ll have to find a switch of some kind. The height works good, I can pass under it easy if needed and it gives room for the blocks to pile up. I can also back my dump trailer under the end if I wanted to. It will take a few modifications along the way to make it more efficient. Thanks for watching!

    Pretty cool setup Ben. Just wondering, what if the last “foot” of your feed (b4 saw blade) the log fed into a “V” shape with a roller on each side. This could possibly hod the log in place and eliminate the bar you pull down to hold the log, freeing up a hand, or allowing you to use your right hand on the saw, using a foot pedal to control log movement? Just a thought. Yes, would definitely drop to a splitter table as well. Just my thoughts. Hope you didn’t get hurt when you fell. Cheers.

      I’ve got to figure out some improvements for sawing the last 3 blocks off the log. That’s when I have trouble especially with bigger ones.
