The light bar on 106? LOVE IT!!! I love how the light spins in circles instead of just flashing like a freaking Christmas tree. which obviously means i don't really like 13s setup.
Steve//// The story goes that the founder of the CFD was a sea captain who was used to red and green lights on the boats. and wanted to carry it over to the fire apparatus.
@@mec253 not the founder of the CFD, but one of it's commissioners had been in the Merchant Marine. Ships use the green to denote what I believe is the port side. It's been that way ever since
Can someone answer a burning question I have... Why do some departments (CFD, FDNY, etc) not follow logical numbering on the vehicles? In this one house they have three different number on three trucks. Why wouldn't it just be, Station 18, Engine 18, Ladder 18, Ambo/Rescue/Medic 18?
@@CH-fk5tk I assumed that but why? Is there a reason? Do they reuse numbers when they replace them or is every new truck assigned the next number in the order?
@@B-... They should just go to the number placards that slot into their holders like some of the California apparatus. Apparatus moves stations you just take that placard out and replace it with the updated number.
@@ThamesCentreVids First they rolled two engines so you can't have the same number on both engines so they need to be different. In my small town department, we have Engine 1, Engine 2 and Engine 4, Ladder 17, Ambulance 1 and Ambulance 2. The Engine 3 designation was retired for some reason and the chief named our new ladder 17 to avoid confusion when we go mutual aid. Our old ladder was Ladder 1 and it could get confusing since every department that had a ladder in our area had a ladder 1. As to why the numbers are so separate, I'm not exactly sure. I could guess that they have been moved from house to house or perhaps it was the order in which they were purchased and then assigned? The 56 truck, for example, would always be the 56 truck and no renumbered because it was reassigned to a different house for whatever reason.

Nice, in this moment I wear my CFD Jacket👍 Greetings from Germany✌️

Awesome catch!
The ambulance at the end it had such sick lights
It sucks.
Would someone please tell me why CFD has green lights on their trucks. Thank you.
It’s just a different variation of the ELS systems used frequently today

It’s based on the # of those vehicles within the city. Not based on the station #

REAL Fire trucks don’t use crappy QE., and have only RED and or RED AND WHITE lights.
Real fire ticks use a combination of EQ + Q with air horn and have RED AND BLUE lights
Silly people make silly statements about the lights and sirens on firetrucks.
@@UrMom-6942 Why would you have both an eQ and regular Q? that makes no sense. The eQ sucks compared to the real thing
