Everyone expects pastors(some, not the theives on TV) to live on ZERO dollars. What do you think it takes to run a church and the upkeep and the rent on the church and the insurance on the church; just to name a few things. Who buys the toilet paper for the bathrooms? Do you bring in a 4 or 8 pack of toilet paper for them? No? Do you expect your pastor and his family to live out of their car? Not eat? Not have any health issues? You want them to come to church wrapped in a towel? Whatever your needs are, your pastor and family have the same and more. You want A/C during summer and heat in the winter? Pay his electric bill then. You go to the bathroom and flush? Pay his water bill. You sing out of prayer books? Those weren’t free. The paper and printing cost for those cute little announcements and updates you get as you walk in, NOT FREE.. The gas in his car as he goes to visit sick church members, not free.. And if they visit the hospital, possibly parking fee. Cleaning and maintenance of the church, not free. The Lord ONLY ASKS for 10%. He uses that to test YOUR FAITH in HIM! All those false preachers and false teachers will be held accountable. If you want to give your tithes to someone,… then Give to Mr Princes ministry.
Derek Prince said his ministry grew to an operating budget of over one million a year, but there are few who would complain about his wealth because of what his faithful teaching gave the church.
I don't understand people not wanting to give. It's a great blessing to give! All those who study the Bible should be completely aware of this. If not, I believe Robert Morris's teaching entitled The Blessed Life is the best teaching on tithing and giving that I have heard in my 71 years. He straightens out everything wrong that we were taught about the subject, and that aligns our hearts with God's Word. God's Word goes out from his mouth to accomplish that for which it was sent.

But be sure you know what your pastor has for a retirement plan. If they have so much they are buying rental properties, you're in the wrong church. He takes Haggai 2:8-9 COMPLETELY out of context. Yes all money obviously belongs to God, but God in these passages is talking directly about the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem. Acts 20 is talking about Paul who knows he is going to be arrested. Conveniently Mr Prince here skips over 20:21 which says that Paul has taught publicly of repentance and faith in Jesus, and says in 20:26-27 that he has done no wrong in telling his friends the gospel and pointing them to Christ. These passages have literally NOTHING to do with giving money to your church, or more likely when he was with us, to buy one of Mr. Princes books.
My pastor said God told him to ask for $40,000 a year to help with the church maintenance such as carpet, AC units, repairs for the parking lot, PA system and now to replace lightning and the dimmers Question. Isn't that what the tithe is supposed to be used for? Also, the last time they raised money, they got like $96,000. Well above the $40,000. So just last Sunday he is asking for more money for the lighting and dimmers. What happened to the excess $56,000, and why is he asking for more when the time before they had an excess in giving? Where did that excess go? Also, that very same night, they had a kids' night out for an out of school celebratuon with bounce houses and food. How are you going to spend money on something like that and then ask for money? Any opinions on this?
I’d ask to see financial records. $56,000 is a lot over requested amount but also ask yourself, what does the pastor ( and his wife/family) need for their living expenses. How many children? How many cars? House payment? Car insurance? Car repairs, gas in the vehicles…Food?clothes? Health care, medicine? Every thing you need to live on; so do they. I give offerings to the church I attend until I’m okay it’s not a false church, But my tithes go to Derek Prince ministry because I know he is true ❤

I don't give to churches any more if I do go I give a minimal amount, there is no way I could be that silly as a steward anymore.

Sounds like a business, not a church of God. If they never discuss holiness, it is definitely a business.
