Perhaps you mean: the Western world. A quick google search will show you that Taiwan is not recognized as a sovereign nation by the UN, only as a territory (of China). As far as I know, UN is the only organization that may potentially represent "the world" at the moment.

Sun Yat Sen would be very proud of Tsai Ing Wen and William Lai. He would be amazed at the democracy that they have sustained, their. courage, and the follow-up of his vision. Currently, Taiwan is a leading democracy in Asia, by every standard of progressive societies they lead. Taiwan is on the right side of history, leading in equity and justice and global human interest. The CCP remains in the 1800’s locked into an immoral, brutal, imperialist cognitive paralysis.

President Lai Ching-te's first national day speech, in my view can be translate as a martial arts Jiu jitsu strategy or policy.
Jiu jitsu core philology is to manipulate opponents or adversaries force against themself, rather confronting adversaries with one's own force, in President Lai's speech he used ROC 113 y/o continuance narrative over PRC 75 y/o existence.
It's a little tweak from his predecessor's narrative.

Yes absolutely agree with him but I've noticed that Xi has backed off a little bit and maybe not talking so much tough talk. He's probably put a lot of pressure on himself because there are economic repercussions with regards to the people that they are trying to do business with and then there's internal problems. I think a lot of the people in China are feeling the pressure of the economic downturn as a result of his rhetoric. I think it'll just kind of all work out, it'll remain a point of contention and a concern for everyone in every country in the world because it's a global community now. If China starts to act like a leading country rather than an expansionist regime then the future is theirs. If they don't care about the opinions of their neighbors and the other people in the world then I don't really think it's a reflection of the people's choice, it's just Xi.
