    Thank you for your video. It seems it will be a nice introductory course. Let's see. I am already a master graduate, but I just started learning about SAP2000 now. Better late than never, I guess. I have a question, two actually.
    1) You said SAP2000 is not usually used for design, only for analysis. What is the reason for that? Is the software a bad designer?
    2) If not SAP2000, what software are usually used for structural design? Are they used together with SAP2000 or they are used for the structural analysis part as well?

      glad you are learning the software :):
      I have never seen anyone using it for design, I know they use Etabs and Safe for analysis and design. In the US, they use Bentley software.

    Hello there!
    I recently downloaded SAP2000, since I am a Civil Engineering student.
    I still haven't learned detailed design, but I really wanted to learn the software and familiarize myself with it for when I become more experienced and understand more about the domain.
    As an expert, do you recommend learning the software from now, or do you think it is better to wait till I get all the information I need to start ?

      Well, SAP2000 is a very easy software, it’s a quick tool.
      I would say learn when you need the software. However, if you have free time, there is no harm in learning it.
      Have you checked my new video ?! I talked about which software I suggest we should use as civil engineers

    How to check impulsive mode and convective mode base shear in elevated water tank using sap2000

    • @AlgoDar
      @AlgoDar  4 года назад

      To be honest I never modeled a tank in SAP2000, I use it only for shear and moment diagrams.
      Check if someone asked the same question on researchgate or on youtube. Goodluck!
