Arizona is an amazing state! In this video, we’re providing 10 Crazy Facts about Arizona, but we’re barely scratching the surface. Arizona National Parks, and National Monuments are famous around the world. The Giant Saguaro Cactus is simply amazing. But it’s also the other small facts that make you say, “I didn’t know that,” that are fun too. Arizona sunshine is famous, or rather infamous. Most of the state experiences a blistering summer. We love Arizona and we hope you love this video. Arizona is a state of remarkable contrasts and breathtaking beauty, offering everything from the iconic red rock landscapes of Sedona to the awe-inspiring grandeur of the Grand Canyon. Its diverse geography includes vast deserts, lush forests, and towering mountain ranges, each providing a unique backdrop for outdoor adventures like hiking, rock climbing, and exploring hidden canyons. Arizona’s rich cultural heritage, with its blend of Native American, Hispanic, and Western influences, adds depth to its vibrant cities like Phoenix and Tucson, where art, history, and cuisine thrive. Whether you're drawn to the serenity of its desert sunsets, the thrill of exploring ancient ruins, or the vibrant energy of its cities, Arizona stands out as a state that captivates the imagination and offers something for every traveler.
    Corrections:
    1. Saguaro grow all over the southern part of the state, both North and South of Phoenix, and even in California. In the video, I make it sound as if they only grow in the Park.
    2. It’s SNOW BOWL, not Snow Ball. I’m not sure why I didn’t catch that mistake during the edit.

Northern Arizona is home to the world's largest ponderosa pine forest which stretches nearly West to East, of its borders. That's more impressive than silly Santa Claus town. AZ is a great state, you can ski in the morning and kayak down the Verde River, in the warm desert, the same day.

How about there being a civil war battle in Arizona? Most people aren't aware that AZ split in two and the southern half joined the confederacy during the civil war. There was a small skirmish at Picacho Pass (about 30 miles north of Tucson) a few days before the war ended.
Arizona also lost what is now Las Vegas due to their secession after the war ended (as punishment and to give water- the Colorado River- to Nevada which did not secede.) Tucson was the capital of Confederate Arizona.

I am a native Arizonan, a born and raised desert dweller. I do complain about the summer heat a lot because I do not like our summer heat. However, weather wise, I still think we win. We don't have to worry about hurricanes or tornadoes. Sure. we get our monsoon season, but, compared to hurricanes and tornadoes, our monsoon season is actually pretty nice. I haven't yet met a true Arizonan who doesn't appreciate a good monsoon storm. Most places I hear of don't like hearing that they have rain in the forecast - but us Arizonan's, we look forward to it. Of course, I am speaking of the lower deserts. I can't speak for those who live along the Mogollon Rim, or how they feel about their snow in the winter. I love my state. I can't see living anywhere else.

The Sonoran Desert is beautiful as far as deserts go but I HATE it here 6 months out of year. You can't experience anything outdoors during half the year because its over 100 degrees and June, July are 110-120 degrees. Its a nightmare.
Nov-Feb are the only months that are enjoyable and you can actually get out and not die of heat stroke in the first 10 min. Oh and Sedona is full of spiritistic hippy weirdos that think the rocks talk to them

Thanks for watching and thanks for commenting! Like I said in the video, I love Arizona. It's awesome! The heat, however, would get to me as well. Do a lot of people in Arizona travel to mountainous regions with cooler weather during summer months just to get out of the heat? I'm asking because it's something I think I'd do! lol I live in the Tennessee Valley and a lot us do that around here in the summer. We head for the mountain creeks or lakes and cool evening breezes. But even in this region there are about two months out of the year that you just can't escape it. But it doesn't compare with your region at all when it comes to heat. It's funny when people say, "but it's a dry heat." 105 is hot regardless!

@@hannahsenior5124 tell that to the Safeway that burned to the ground a few years ago. The transition from Monsoon to Fall is the killer, a giant swath of north valley, including my home was damaged heavily by two freak hail/wind/rain events Oct 2010 that I have not seen occur anywhere else on video. There was almost no air to breath, we were inside of the part of a thunderstorm that is usually 20,000 feet high, it was about 200 feet high, I still hate thinking about what I saw out my window.
Allstate declared a disaster support structure for it, every roof fir tens of miles replaced. It was actually a blessing for me financially as I really needed a new roof.

So glad you enjoyed visiting our state. I grew up here and have been here since 1962. Needless to say, it has grown unbelievably since then. And yes, I went to Arcadia High School where Stephen Spielberg went to school as well as Linda Carter, Wonder Woman. 😁

I grew up in Globe AZ, Christmas is very close bye, as a mining enterprise, consisisting of a large strip mine in the 1960's & 1970's it appeared as a giant pyramid. FYI
ps: the ELKS LODGE in Globe is the tallest 3 storie masory building in the world.

I'll bet your dad knows my mom, everyone in Winslow practically does she's just really friendly and likes everyone. She just turned 84 and worked for the Santa Fe railroad for 20 years and retired then worked at walmart and retired from there to. Ask your dad if he knows Nixie.
