Only chungha and soyeon are actually famous in Korea and internationally . Somi comes close but her huge haitus really hurt her fame .
Honestly, I think Somi had more popularity than Chungha (based on the views of mv, youtube video and her ig).. and I think of coz sixteen, pd101 and her big label also contribute a bit for that popularity and bigger fandom.. but I think Chungha is popular and more favored because of her talents, good songs, great performance and top dance skills 🔥🔥
Yes, agree. Somi was super popular after PD 101, i remember she had multiple tv programs and endorsements but after she left JYP and went for a long hiatus did affect her fame. Meanwhile Chungha, she made a name for herself w/o signing to a powerful agency, her songs not only gave her fame, she made a lot of money from them through digital streaming and other factors that her fame brought to her. Soyeon on the other hand, this woman helped herself and her group to fame.

Just because Sohye is not an Idol, doesn’t mean she is not successful. She starred in the movie beside Kim Hee-Ae (The World Of Married) which got her critically acclaimed and nomination for best new actress at Baeksang (or Blue Dragon) awards
She also signed up to be lead for KBS new drama so she got making bank as she is under her own company.

There are cases where some trainee who left before the contract expired, they had to pay a big sum of debt they owe from the company. While some they don't have to pay a single cent of the debt when they leave the company (is depends on different company contract & rules). While some company contract even if you left the company after the contract ends you still have to pay the debt. So is rly depends on different companies.

Soyeon being on the 20th did really well on Unpretty and debuting with (G)i-dle... Out of all the contestants here, I think she is one of the top earners by getting royalties from (G)idle songs plus as a member. Chungha is doing really extremely well as a Solo artist but it might be so tiring being Solo. Somi may not be doing so well as a Solo singer but she's got tons of variety show, hosting and commercials that she's got a lot of options not just as a singer. The other girls have varying sucesses but may not be as comparably popular or on demand as the 3 I mentioned. I'm sure each one of them has a lot of struggles and success stories we simply have no way of knowing but I hope they find happiness at what they are currently doing.

Momoland Taeha might be eliminated earlier in the show but I think I consider her as the most successful one, despite of the controversy with her agency. She might not be an active member of Momoland anymore but the feat that she got during her career was extraordinary. Special mention her song "BBoom BBoom" which got huge global recognition. She is included in the most viewed MV out of all produce 101 trainees with almost 500 million views. She is also the first produce 101 trainee who got her first music show win last 2018. I'm so sad that it happened so fast and her agency wasted her career and talent. If only they took care of Taeha more, I think she will get more attention and recognition.
Now, she has her own RUclips channel, I hope guys you support her in her passion.

If Kim sohye continued to be an idol she would be insane because she's such a quick learner. You can easily see her improvements in pd alone

I think Jeon Somi and Kim Sejeong who finished in 1st and 2nd place respectively, didn't get much milestone out of it. Like the other seasons' winners and runner ups are a lot more popular and successful than them, it's quite interesting tbh. Also the fact that Chungha (who wasn't a hot news back in produce days) and Soyeon (who didn't even make it to the cutline) are the most successful out of them...
I blame their companies tbh.
If well managed they both could have got so much bigger way quicker. Somi left JYP and took too long to debut. A lot of the hype was lost. I also feel like her debut was not that great. Not that the song was bad but it didnt appeal to the general public in korea. Sejeong did so well considering how trash Jellyfish is. Imo if they were both in a comapny that was smart and marketed them from the jump they would have been big and could have easily both get a great solo career. Sad.

i needed to add HINAPIA has disbanded as of september 2020. their company OSR entertainment had covid-related financial issues that led to their disbandment (basically the company went broke and could no longer do anything). :( i hope the girls of hinapia find a stable company to debut in or pursue their career or just enjoy their life without the industry. at least the group disbanded and it wasn't bc of company mistreatment or anything...its still very saddening.
