As much as I love/respect everything about, Austin Reaves, I feel like when I watch some of his assists, they look/feel a little bit inflated imo. 3 of his registered “assists,” I saw on this film were of him throwing it to LeBron and Dalton above the 3 point line and then they take two dribbles to get to the basket and score. Those sequences feel like independent/separate plays that don’t need to credit the passer with an assist since the basket required two dribbles. If it was only one dribble and score I think it’s more appropriate to credit Austin/whomever passes it last with an assist; but two dribbles to me makes it a new play separate from the passer. Does anybody see where I’m coming from on this? 🤔 💭 Also, Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you all! 🎄 ❤️
