I wouldn't do that here unless I really had to. The regular Eb fingering has a more powerful sound more appropriate to the context here. The fingering he mentions can be a good one in more extreme technical contexts - or where a more delicate sound is called for.
This just blew my mind! We have to play this for All-District and I'm so pumped I'd love to make All-State again so I'm practicing now even though it's not until October.
