Partitioning is splitting up the charges of charged moves which allow easier mobility of charged attacks. An example would be if Remy wanted to dash and shoot his projectile, he can't do it holding back for 2 seconds and then dashing since his charge will vanish. Partitioning allows a 2 second charge to be split as long as the charges are kept in a certain span of time, that's for another video, this video is to teach muscle memory to partitioning.
No one told me that partitioning requires you to not get charge ahead of time or it doesn't work. Years upon years I couldn't do it and couldn't figure out why. Most writeups on charge partitioning completely omit this fact. Thanks.
well well well if it isn't the faust player
Didn't expect to see you here
we meet again, faust guy
Oh well hello
This is the shit that keeps me from playing charge characters lol.
A lot of charge characters don't need this in particular and they're not very hard to master. Partitioning works pretty well with Urien tho so that's a must
It’s an unusual rhythm. It doesn’t feel intuitive.
Great work, it all makes sense now. I've been in the lab with urien for half an hour and it's all starting to click. I didn't even truly understand it until the other day and then I needed clear inputs so this saved me a ton of time. Thanks man
No problem I hope this actually helped. Thought the inputs would be better than showing my hands.
I swear I’m gonna need like an in person tutor cuz I can’t get the charge commands correctly on a consistent basis but imma do it for Remy lol
I wish you the best of luck, Remy is awesome!
thanks for the tutorial, it helped me step up my Q game
god have mercy
The hard part is when you have muscle memory of you pressing forward/up + punch/kick, it already has that timing down, so now you have to press it a few miliseconds later
I've put off learning this long enough. Thanks.
Were you able to do it before and aftewards?
I still haven't gone and bothered learning it haha. Been playing poverty fighters from the 90's. I'll try and give it some time today. If I can do Makoto insta stun I should be able to learn this right?
+Toomnyusernae oh definitely good luck
I don't suppose you know how to perform that Ken kara uppercut where he lands two jab dps in a row? Maybe it's because I'm a pad player that I can't seem to do it?
This is more like a charge buffer tutorial than anything, but still good
You don't look this comment but bro I love you too much thanks now I can play Remy very easy
Urien is so difficult with charge partitioning like dayum
for how old 3rd strike is there isnt a lot of solid videos on how stuff works.
Is this supposed to be a tutorial...? I still have no idea what I'm supposed to do.
I'm learning charge partitioning for the first time too. As far as I can tell, you start charging (DON'T overcharge by charging as much as it needs for the charge move to activate, or else it doesn't work) interrupt your charge early with something like a normal or a dash, and finish charging to do the move faster than you would be able to normally. For example, lets say a move takes 2 seconds to charge. You can hold down back for 1 second, dash, then hold down back for another second to complete the full charge. This would allow you to dash around while also charging. Also, I'm thinking this would make it possible to combo attacks into charge moves that wouldn't normally be possible.

@@OccuredJakub12 thanks dude
Nice video! Thanks!!!
Solid video man gotta put this into practice!
Can you do it now?
Yes! I gotta work on dash-charging though.
can we see this on a pro controller
I still don’t get it
I just hold down back basically the whole match, except for the quick forward or up motion. Even when jumping.
Was this really to show how to charge? Or am I missing something? 😂

What's got u stumped about this video?
@@SlickRick4EVER no I get it now. I thought it was literally teaching how to do regular charge moves lol.
@@Zx14rrrrrrrrrrr - Well, let me help you a bit:
- Charge Buffering is when you charge, then execute forward then immediately press back and the attack button so that while the fireball (or "sonic boom") has finished, you immediately press ->,
:0
This is not partitioning, this is charge *buffering*
Dude, there were parts in this video that was partitioning.
