    Sir as we didn't assign 1 as quantized level so we did the correction of I from 4to 3 but my question is how is that correction done

    If we calculate Xq at highest amplitude we get Xq=1, but you have drawn that as 0.5

      Because there is no higt value than .5 in 2 bit to take 1 you have increase the level of quantization.

      It is not complsory to choose 00 at -1, but you can assign for digitization

      i.e:- we give the value 00 on -1.is we can give that value to +1 on the place of -1

    How to reduced distortion in quantization process?

      By increasing number of bits per sample, means by reducing steps size.
