Fr, the child became rich in her body but did not act rich at all. Imagine if she just listened to her mom and exercised, or even threw away the shit food. She was low.
Beauty Water makes the body's skin, muscle and tissue soft like clay in order to mold it to whatever you want. Allowing you to cut off those unwanted parts, or to smooth your waist into your desired shape. However, they don't explain what the Beauty Water is made of in the entire short. My suspicion is that it may be made from youthful blood like the tales of old.
It makes sense since the blonde 'doc' doesn't seem to be interested in Yae Ji's offer to get her more bodies, plus the flesh from her parents is what gave her that corpse-like appearance. I don't think the water itself uses the flesh of beautiful people, but instead the procedure itself requires it for the patient to become beautiful. Also explains why the 'doc' only ever asked for money. Probably pays off morticians to give her the dead bodies of beautiful people for her to use in the procedures.
@@KnucklesxReala911 The origin of BeautyWater is explained in episodes 260-263 from Tales of the Unusual. It never states what exactly BeautyWater is made of though, just that it was made by a plastic surgeon who had used his knowledge of skin care and recent skills with wax (because he had been trying to give ghosts/corpses plastic surgery) to create it.
Honestly, she would’ve had a better glow up if she just got out of the entertainment industry and just started living a healthy lifestyle. Simple as that.
@@howdydobuckeroo1204 Yeah. I know she may not have looked the cutest as a child, but that doesn’t mean she can’t become beautiful as an adult, and I mean that in the most LITERAL sense of the word. Puberty can make you drop dead gorgeous sometimes. If Yaeji just lost some weight, she’d probably have a decent amount of pretty to her. I have nothing against fat people, but THAT amount of fat in her body isn’t just “ugly”, it’s gross and unhealthy.
I think I've heard of this in an asian horror story before. "Ugly girl desperate to become beautiful uses supernatural means (often potions) to be beautiful. It ends up with her having to do something relating to flesh or murder to keep herself beautiful".
I remember reading this story in an online manhwa once, I'm surprised and happy it was made into an animation. This animation is way more disturbing than the original manhwa and I like it. Like in the manhwa, the parents were the real victim of the story. I feel bad for the main character due to being fat myself, but her selfishness caused her parents to suffer and caused deaths.
If the girl had convinced him to be his partner and help him abduct women, she could have survived, becoming rich under his protection and remained pretty. The guy obviously knew her pain and would understand what it felt like being in her shoes. With this he could have possibly accepted the offer, benefiting both him and the girl, making his secret easier to pull-off. Because for me the ending was just weird, I mean, the girl became his thigh? Really?
Agreed. To be honest, I doubt that Beauty Water regresses the effects of the procedure. I think it modifies your appearance, but it doesn’t “go back” to the way you looked before. Honestly if that was me, I would’ve only used the water once, then just join a gym and keep that flesh in shape. Then you’re all set.
Not really. A lot of weight loss is just about learning how to maintain that weight loss. The girl in this story didn't learn how to do that. And she's likely under so much stress and eating rich foods and drinks fhat it is impossible for her to learn
@@rosesweetcharlotte So it's like how weight loss surgery/gastric bypass patients need to prove they can and will diet before getting the procedure, otherwise they gain all the weight back later, or worse end up heavier plus the complications of the surgery. Truly there is no quick fix.

I have to disagree with you, on the fact she does know how to do the procedure. With the sample there was a video showing how the beauty water worked. She was also able to fix herself after she killed the blonde lady, she only needed more flesh to mold onto herself after the accident she had since the beauty water was at the blonde lady's place. The thing is, I think after she had her first full transformation, if she had done what her Mother suggested and worked out instead of depending on the beauty water to do a quick fix, she would have been fine. Her greatest mistake was falling asleep in the bath, since she was in the beauty water far to long that's why she ended up the way she did and her parents had to give their own flesh to save her. That event probably led her into that mental state of thinking that her body was falling apart again because it had before.
Yep, in the manhwa it's made clear that the beauty water basically makes your skin turn sort of "clay-ish", basically you can mold it like you would do with clay. In the manhwa she also straight up melts in the water and the mom accidentally stumbles upon her. The mom actually almost "killed" her (read: put her out of her misery) by throwing her remains into a lake (if I remember correctly) before the dad stopped her.

She could've easily explained to her parents that she needed the money for cosmetic and plastic surgery, and she went to get those procedures done which is why she looks so different.
Honestly, after trying it once, what she should have done is to simply exercise and keep her skinny physique naturally. But she had to use the short-cut again. Of course, the whole point of the story is that she would rather use short-cuts instead of losing weight through diet and exercise.
Whoa I didn't know the beauty water webtoon has the anime version of it! so cool! I remember this series was a hot topic for a very long time even after the author created many series after, the readers just couldn't stop talking about beauty water
I know CGI in anime is controversial, but I honestly don't mind CGI in genres where the story is the focus and the action/animation is secondary. Reminds me of Inuyashiki. Terrible CGI but a very entertaining story.
My problem with CGI in anime is two fold: 1) Obviously, if the CGI is bad I won’t like it. 2) When the anime uses 2D and 3D both. Like Baki. Kengan used 3D the vast majority of the time unlike Baki which used mostly 2D except for some 3D. The 3D in Kengan was more fluid and well choreographed. And it was detailed unlike Baki’s 3D.
@@BruceWayne-fj9bm Yeah, when they use both, it becomes jarring, but from an advertising pov, it allows you to do a bait and switch lol. Show people the good stuff and then just cgi everywhere to cut corners.
All of these drama wouldn't happen if she was smart enough to not to be desperate enough to try the obviously suspicious beauty water, and instead she just switch her lifestyle and try her best to be healthy.
Spoilers Ahead: The origin of beauty water: It was created by a successful plastic surgeon whom was haunted by a ghost that wanted to be pretty. Through the use of wax doll skills and his experience with plastic surgery, he managed to make the corpse pretty and greatly slow down decomposition. The ghost became pretty and told her friends in the graveyard whom also began haunting the doctor. He got fed up with it and burned their corpses. All the hauntings took a toll on his physical state and his surgeries were getting cancelled. So he created beauty water with a mixture of wax and the flesh of corpses to get back into the limelight of the beauty industry. It makes the user’s body malleable like clay. In the original story, Yaeji had taken some sculpting classes in college and did her own initial makeover. If you’re curious about the entire original story, Beauty Water is part of an anthology horror manhwa series called Tales of the Unusual. You can find it on Webtoons. It’s quite different than this movie and I think it’s even darker. Yaeji’s story pt 1 begins chapter 69 Beauty Water origin story begins on chapter 260 Yaeji’s story pt 2 begins on chapter 280
Well that was upsetting and horrifying. Interestingly it’s no coincidence this is Korean-based as beauty standards and plastic surgery addiction have become an epidemic in South Korea. Like the story about the pretty guy who married the beautiful girl and the baby turned out ugly because the mother was heavily “modified”. Maybe North Korea best Korea isn’t just a meme after all.
That fake story ruined that models life, she had no plastic surgery, she just modelled for the advertisement. It's actually kind of sad, because as you see, that fake story persists
This was my all time favorite Webtoon!!! Tales of the Unusual. This was my top 3 fav stories. One thing they don't talk about is that the quality of skin matters. She uses her parent's skin because it sticks to her longer than random skin (and it's readily available). Great story, love the Beauty Water series
Ah, this reminds me of this horror movie… Looks like the main How To Beat Channel covered it, haha. School Tales. A girl who drinks a potion becomes beautiful, but she has to eat flesh/raw meat every night or something among those lines.
Okay, legit though. Her eyes are fucking amazing! Forget the pretty anime girl. She just needs to lose a bit of weight if she's insecure of her looks. Beyond that, she's great, and those eyes are amazing
To stay fresh there's all you have to do is watch what your eating take care of your health and your skin and use healthy products it may not stay for long but it'll stay fresh
I remember when this webtoon shown up. Almost 2-3 month people commented and made jokes in some others’ webtoon about beauty water. Because the story has plot twist and no one can’t predict it
When she knew she was gaining weight she should’ve gold digger so bad so she could be rich af and when it runs out she can love a comfortable life and she can get more water
This anime looks really interesting. The only thing I kept thinking about was the part where pretty people tend to have better health and mental health. If only that was true. I'd consider myself a pretty person but I have so many mental health issues it's annoying
@@Scarleto None of which this girl has, so why bring those irrelevant things up? And even then, no matter who you are, you will lose weight in a caloric deficit. No amount of medical issues or medication will allow you break the laws of thermodynamics.
This anime just proves that you should just love how you look and don’t listen to anyone who tells you that you aren’t pretty enough (also the animation on this is amazing)
The original WEBTOON ending was even worse. Yaeji was stuck to his knee instead of his thigh, and when she said something that the guy didn't like, he'd smash her face against a table or other hard surface.
@@jasonwu3941 Maybe it's both, in a way. Don't take shortcuts to look beautiful, but you don't need to be so focused on how you look. Sure there are things that you should care about in terms of looks, such as personal hygiene, happiness, and health, but you don't need to look like an Instagram model to be beautiful.
You know, this really says something about the entertainment industry. I feel bad for the girl before the beauty water procedure. The industry just encouraged her unhealthy relationship with food by making her gorge herself. They constantly insulted her and looked down upon her, which made her emotional eating habits worse. I understand what it's like to feel undesirable. Beauty standards are one of the most powerful weapons against women. However, it was hard to feel for her when she began treating her parents so terribly. It must've been hard, and I'm sure she felt desperate to feel wanted, but that doesn't excuse the horrible person she became.
Yae Ji would have been better off, if she gave the potion and address to that supermodel. Yae Ji's problem isn't that she's not attractive, but that she's very gullible. All that lighting in front of all that food and it wouldn't have ringed alarm bells in her head?
While it will fix your weight, it won't help most other things. No amount of calories will fix your busted face, make you taller, change your bone structure...

Wait how could he have been the red haired lady the whole time when they were in the same room together near the beginning?
I think he killed her, stole her face, and then impersonated her
Yeah, it's implied that Ji-Hun (Prettyboy) poses as her for the social media after her disappearance.
I was NOT expecting that ending, that makes me uncomfortable in a way I can’t even describe
Funny part this anime would have just ended with some "GOD DAMN EXERCISE"
Honestly, after trying it once, what she should have done is to simply exercise and keep her skinny physique naturally. But she had to use the short-cut again. Of course, the whole point of the story is that she would rather use short-cuts instead of losing weight through diet and exercise.
This was probably the most creepiest anime I’ve ever heard of
Bruh the animation of this anime looks like a cutscene of a Xbox 360 Game
Yeahhh the CG animation of some of these newer series are profoundly ugly. Ironic.
The main thing is focus on making it look good and taking advantage of the medium.
My problem with CGI in anime is two fold:
1) Obviously, if the CGI is bad I won’t like it.
Spoilers Ahead:
The origin of beauty water:
It was created by a successful plastic surgeon whom was haunted by a ghost that wanted to be pretty.
Yaeji’s story pt 1 begins chapter 69
Beauty Water origin story begins on chapter 260
Yaeji’s story pt 2 begins on chapter 280
Well that was upsetting and horrifying. Interestingly it’s no coincidence this is Korean-based as beauty standards and plastic surgery addiction have become an epidemic in South Korea. Like the story about the pretty guy who married the beautiful girl and the baby turned out ugly because the mother was heavily “modified”.
Maybe North Korea best Korea isn’t just a meme after all.
Actually that's a fake story, it was a promotional ad for a plastic surgeon
“Beauty standards are too high in South Korea, maybe fascism is better actually” isn’t a take I ever expected to see
That fake story ruined that models life, she had no plastic surgery, she just modelled for the advertisement. It's actually kind of sad, because as you see, that fake story persists
She actually threatened to sue the clinic, as it destroyed her career-
Honestly the least realistic part is that $5000 can get you that much at a department store
I think after the first full dose of beauty water I would've hit the gym
I think there was an episode of GeGeGe No Kitaro that had a yokai offer girls beauty in exchange for eating people's souls or the like too.
13:51 that’s actually true with Beauty Water you could change your face at anytime
Because the story has plot twist and no one can’t predict it
I remember reading the webcomic version of this. Didn't know it got animated. Cool
I remember reading the original. It's good to see it getting an animate adaptation 😃
It's a fan favorite, ngl. Everybody is making puns about it, even after the series ended.
When she knew she was gaining weight she should’ve gold digger so bad so she could be rich af and when it runs out she can love a comfortable life and she can get more water
This would be interesting in an action game. It would severely lower an enemy's attack and defence.
This anime looks really interesting. The only thing I kept thinking about was the part where pretty people tend to have better health and mental health. If only that was true. I'd consider myself a pretty person but I have so many mental health issues it's annoying
*YES*
My favorite webtoons (episode) is finally getting the recognition it deserves!!!! 👏 ❤️.
She does know that they just showed what she looked like if she lost weight and worked
No, it did change her eyes and boje structure too. And she also got new clothes.
omg I remember reading this as a story before it got animated this is so cool
damn I didn't know they are different type of beauty thx for that
Omfg i remember reading the original comic of this before years ago, can't believe it finally got an adaptation
What was it called?
Have a nice, non-flesh eating, psychotic, crazy day!
Instead of drinking a secret potion how about she throw away the junk food. There problem solved. Lol
Oh yeah so smart
Well it's not that simple but okay
@@grenadaball7655 If you're lucky and don't have an underlying medical problem, or require medication, that effects weight loss.
@@Scarleto None of which this girl has, so why bring those irrelevant things up?
And even then, no matter who you are, you will lose weight in a caloric deficit. No amount of medical issues or medication will allow you break the laws of thermodynamics.
Yes!
This anime just proves that you should just love how you look and don’t listen to anyone who tells you that you aren’t pretty enough (also the animation on this is amazing)
Shows that there are no shortcuts to getting to your ideal standards for beauty
If I was the parent, I would say no and tell her it's not worth it.
I was waiting* for this one!
I remember reading this on webtoons Tales of the Unusual
The original WEBTOON ending was even worse. Yaeji was stuck to his knee instead of his thigh, and when she said something that the guy didn't like, he'd smash her face against a table or other hard surface.
I feel bad for the parents they did so much for a person who doesn’t care about them
your videos are good ive watched them all and everytime i see a new video i watch it keep up the good work very enjoyable
moral of the story stop caring how you look you pretty as u are
No it is not to take shortcuts
@@jasonwu3941 Maybe it's both, in a way. Don't take shortcuts to look beautiful, but you don't need to be so focused on how you look. Sure there are things that you should care about in terms of looks, such as personal hygiene, happiness, and health, but you don't need to look like an Instagram model to be beautiful.
Beauty water horried me on Web toon, especially the one where this guy Beauty waters a girl onto his knee 💀
how to beat: just go for a jog😂
Wow this man really became Leatherface in a anime. 🤣
Damn. I have been reading beauty water for quite a while and I didn't know there is a 3d animation of it
You know, this really says something about the entertainment industry.
It's good to be ugly, u get front row seats to seeing the true person in front of u
Yae Ji would have been better off, if she gave the potion and address to that supermodel. Yae Ji's problem isn't that she's not attractive, but that she's very gullible. All that lighting in front of all that food and it wouldn't have ringed alarm bells in her head?
Lesson ladies and gentlemen: Calories in calories out
While it will fix your weight, it won't help most other things. No amount of calories will fix your busted face, make you taller, change your bone structure...
@@Venjamin Still, you cant try to have work done without getting leaner and actually seeing how you look. Check out mpmd. If you're fat/obese, you already make yourself look busted even if you're a model underneath
That isn't always easy. Plus, she would have looked much nicer if she had dressed better
@@rosesweetcharlotte I dont care if it isnt easy. Take care of your health and practice moderation: Calories in, calories out. It takes willpower, but the benefits and being healthier are worth it
Wow. That was utterly horrifying
Well this was already pretty weird but somehow the ending was even weirder.
This has emotionally traumatized me
Wow I have been reading Lookism for a while but I don’t know how I didn’t realize it was pretty privilege..
Same
I guess she ultimately got a leg up on the competition!
If I was yae Ji I would
1.not accept the beauty water
2.give the product back
3.go on a healthy diet
4.go to the gym every day
5.not going to get a boyfriend just so I can show am a girl boss
6.put on contract lens and a mask so hot boy(aka girl in disguise) doesn't know who I am
7.learn self defense
8. BE GREATFUL FOR MY PARENTS LOVING ME AND TAKING CARE OF ME
Im..gonna guess pretty boy married his leg then.. 😭😭
It was a comic. The same as this anime. I need to remember what was it
As i recall it was a manga about different horror stories (like there was 100+ horror stories and this was one of them)
It's a webtoon called Tales of the Unusual.
this is some weird shit we got ourselves into
another banger bro even my cat is watching ^^
remember guys, gym is your best friend
Gyms don't fix ugly. lmao
@@Venjamin well at least you can be healthy
Shtt I didn't know beauty water has anime adaptation. Thank you for this! Gonna watch later the actual anime.
For some reason the pretty boy gives me glasses guy energy
Couldn't she just lived a normal life after the first beauty water procedure? I mean is not like her body has a permanent scar or damage like in plastic surgery, after the first operation I would have just live a normal life after that and banned beauty water from my life because the danger it can bring
