Dude! You nailed it. Get a farm truck (with a plow attachment), rider mower, chainsaw, and you're rocking the rural life. A brush mower is handy too. Make sure your septic and water supply are good. I got away from the dugout and invested in a quality cistern. An ATV or snowmobile are nice toys to have. Farm cats are a must in some areas (don't get too attached, they tend to get murdered by coyotes). Yes, I too have taken out a window with my mower. Gotta watch how you mow around the house. And make sure you check for planned development in your area before you buy. A fresh lease next door can devalue your property.
Thanks for the video! I’ve watched pretty much all of them and your so real and informative. Can’t wait to move out there! We will be calling you when we’re ready!
Great video, we just had to cancel a deal on a nice acreage because the septic inspection showed the tank was all broken and the system was 50 yrs old, loads of DIY work with no permits. Was too high of a can of worms for us to bite off. So sooo thankful we did inspections
Fired nurse in bc, with a soon to be mandated and fired massage therapist husband. Looking to leave totalitarian and overpriced Kelowna for an average somewhere within an hour and half from Edmonton (our only family in Alberta). I've been watching your ideas for some time, and stumbled upon this one today. I love your balance of professionalism and realism. The swear words in this video made me an official fan. We too are looking at Penoka county, which is where I think you said you live. Do you just cover panoka and red deer counties? I know as a nurse I'll have zero issues getting a job, but is there work for massage therapists in that area do you know?
Hi Kyle, First of all great videos, are all informative. I would like to know more about retirement life in Red Deer AB, you may consider making a video just for retired people who are planning to retire and looking for a good place to retire.
Great video! Thanks for posting. What is the approximate cost for the three inspections that you have recommended for buying an acreage. We are looking at purchasing in the Spring/Summer and figuring out what the budget costs will be for acreage vs city purchasing.
We bought an acreage near Rocky, (from bc) first day we realized we had no internet or cell service and I work from home. Tried Starlink and it did not work due to trees. Lived there for 5 months then had to sell. :( This is a great video, I wish we would have seen it earlier.
I'm in Ontario at the moment. Was wondering what you think is a "fair" or typical asking price for say 100 acres of good quality agricultural land in your area as of March, 2023? Assume no pre-existing structures.
Thanks for the info. I have been living in Calgary for 25 years, I am turning 60 in the Summer and planning to eventually live off the grid, have some chickens & hens, a garden on an acre or two with a small log cabin, shed with windows or tiny house. My son is a handyman who could help me get started with that. Any suggestions for unrestricted land or an acre or 2 by a farm land. I do not mind cows or horses around, in fact, I love animals and hearing a rooster in the morning in Mexico, where I lived for 3 years (my kids are half Mexican), but properties in touristic areas are as expensive as here, and others are controlled by the narco trafico (mafia) and unsecure. Can you give me some advice for someone who has a Honda Accent 1998, no property to her name, not that much money and no inheritance or relatives in Alberta, who is a Christian who does not want to be part of the upcoming global digital currency or the controlling system of the beast, not depending on the government?
If we buy a property with a condemed house, can we rebuild to the same dimensions without building permits or how would thst work? Can we live off grid in red deer county
Looking to build in Rockview or Foothills county around Calgary. Can i purchase the land and take, lets say, 4 years to build doing it slowly myself? My biggest question, how lenient are the councils when it comes to subdividing? are they very cliquey and protecting self interests rather than being fair more often than not? Happy i kicked my WOW addiction also haha!
Each county is different ! Some are more lenient then others ! They mostly have the same rules but can have slight variations . I would actually just give the county a call and ask them all your questions ! WOW is a mother Efer lol!
Hi bro, I have a client wanting to buy land He wants to build 2-3 houses, Parking for 4 cars And potential commerical work done there, Is 2.5 acres and up enough for this? Please let me know
Any questions comment below or give me a shout!

Starlink has changed internet for rural areas although, it is expensive $147/mo for me but its the same as the internet I had in the city
It’s the best for acreage Internet
Great info . Thank you so much .
Your welcome !
At the beginning of this video I wanted you to be our realtor, at the end of video now, I want us to be best friends lol. 😅😅

You would need permits!

Those are the most strict county's in my understanding, wheatland is very loose, but it's flatland definitely not the same terrain

He seems to say “obviously” WAY to much, and most of the time, it’s not actually obvious.
Well obviously 😂
