I very much get why Americans are "frustrated" but just so you know.... American companies bought the UK's two biggest tractor manufacturers, CASE - David Brown (1972) and AGCO - Massey Ferguson (1994) they both stopped manufacturing tractors in the UK soon after those takeovers. On the plus side, New Holland is the only tractor manufacturer left in the UK now, they opened a factory here in 1964 and I think it still produces tractors. BTW, JCB broke ground on a it's second factory in the San Antonio, TX in June this year, (It opened it's first in 2001 in Savannah, GA)it will be their second biggest manufacturing plant after their HQ in Staffordshire England when it starts production in 2026. The only reason JCB is still in the UK is because it is still privately owned by the founder, Joseph Cyril Bamfords family. cheers

I've just checked NH's website, here's a clip from the history section: "Located just 20 miles from Ford’s large Dagenham plant, where over 1m Fordson tractors had been built in the preceding 31 years, building work on the Basildon plant was completed in 1964 at a cost of £20m - £200m in today’s money. The new building spanned over 1.3 million sq ft and included new road infrastructure to service and support the plant." The answer is it was a new factory for Ford tractors (Fordson name was dropped), Ford bought Sperry New Holland in 1986 and in 1994 they started using the name New Holland..... the history of any manufacturer is always interesting and this is no different... cheers
Hello Warren. Yes I love dogs as well. I had them all my life until 6 months ago. My old dog died. He was 18 a patterdale terrier and part collie a lovely temperament. My landlord said we can't have anymore dog on campus. If I wasn't so old and settled I would have moved to have another dog. It's down to people that have moved in recently. There is still 2 or 3 on site. But when they are gone that's it. I can't even park my tractor at the back of my flat. So it's stud in a field taxed and insuranced. This is all thow people that have moned.
One day in the future, when you decide to call it quits, you should take the time to thumb through the countless invoices from your first job to the last. You're going to wonder how one man could have possibly done all of that. It's going to give an incredible sense of accomplishment!!!

The funny part is that they will save a bunch of money on labor by moving to Mexico, but the equipment cost will not be any cheaper. If that is a regular customer, take a photo of the I.D. plate and start a file on your computer for serial and model numbers for quicker parts ordering.
Warren in your opinion what is the best pre-emission 100-150hp tractor in terms of reliability, ease of repair and cost of repair. I want to know what a experienced and knowledgeable mechanic would buy. Are there any models that stand out in your mind?
The case ih mx120 was imo one of the best tractors made. Had a simple mechanical Cummins engine, was not completely over engineered with electronic garbage all over it and were super reliable. The case ih 7120 were good too.
Is the fuel saving with a variable speed fan worth the expensive could they do it with electric fans, there seems to be a lot of the pulleys going faulty?
All auto parts you can buy to fix your car come from anouther Country. Ford , Chevy and Doge moved their 2nd largest assembly plants to Mexico. The US plants only have 50 or so more employees so they can clame their American .
Seems wrong. Build a tractor out of plastic then add a ton of iron weights to the tractor. And the only parts that don't wear out or break are the iron ones.

I watch a farming outfit in Minnesota, and they have a deere combine that has 360 hour's on it, and it spun a bearing and blew two big holes in the block. Thankfully it's still under warranty, cost deere close to 100,000 to put in a brand new motor, junk. If Trump gets in and they go to Mexico, he'll hit them with a 200% tariff. I don't trust anyone who gets in though, same plan, and their all in on it around the world, not just here. G-d bless.

Couldn't John Deere have used a different method to control the fan speed. Like an electric viscous style clutch maybe? Looks way over engineered to me.
