I want the people to understand that God has given us all individual gifts and there was a time when I didn't embrace rap in the gospel but then came to realize that this is also a way to give the Lord praise & worship and can lead many souls to Christ. Spoken word is sort of like rap in some ways and God has blessed me with this ability to write so how could I think that the Lord wouldn't use rap as a tool as well? How very closed minded I had become. As long as Jesus Christ is being glorified and exalted I'm there in it!! He is the promise keeper!
I agree... even if someone doesn’t agree with it or thinks the intentions of the artist are not for the Lord, it can still lead souls to Christ. Especially young people who strictly listen to rap and are completely close-minded to other gospel music.
