I was just five when the first season aired. I always ran and hid when the theme started! I vividly recall the color episodes, but I am really digging these b&w ones. Thank you so much for uploading these.
Mitchell Ryan (Burke Devlin) was later replaced by Anthony George as a result of his then chronic alcoholism. Ryan is still alive at age 87, and one of his last TV appearances was as Blanche's verbally abusive boy friend on The Golden Girls.
Renee G According to IMDb, Joan Bennett made a flat $333 per episode in 1966, but she had been a major film star for decades. You can bet that the other "no name" people made considerably less than that and remember, the average regular actor in the series appeared in maybe 2 to 3 episodes per week. No appearance = no pay. Reading between the lines, Joan Bennett made maybe a thousand a week to $1200 per week (educated guess) in 1966 Not bad money back then and it was steady work. Too bad the others probably didn't do nearly that well. $100 to $200 per episode maybe (????) The "non-speaking" extras made literally a few dollars per episode. Certainly under $50 an episode probably a lot less than that.
The black and white videotape look is very nostalgic. I wish they hadn't gone to taping in color later on. I LOVED this show in black and white!
+scdevon Thanks for the spoiler NOT :(

thank you so much for all your uploads, big fan of dark shadows and that you have the actual takes is amazing..
Last appearance, I think, of George Mitchell. He went on to sober up and do some solid parts in movies and TV; good for him!
Goes to show how women love a decisive man who takes action and lead like Burke does
K PUA ... yicch, not this woman!
It's so funny how they danced back then. That was my parent's generation!
Renee G My generation too. But believe me, we weren't quite as cheesy as these guys :-) I love watching it though--too funny :-)
Renee G Carolyn looked very cute showing off her dancing skills at 14:30.
scdevon ... Carolyn could blow her nose or wear plaid, and still look cute!
Renee G I think it's cute- dancing today is far too suggestive at times
Renee G She is very cute and innocent!
Loving The Blue Whale!

+atlantic 11561 Have we forgotten about "Dharma and Greg"? Also, he played Wil RIker's father in one episode of "ST:TNG".
Anyone can help me on the pop track playing on the blue whale?. And a big thanks for the upload of DS it's great!
Steve Bergman hi thanks very much for your information!
19:54
20:33
She's more than "Just some blonde". I hope her appearance held up.
+retrogeorge1 She still looks great!
Yes she does.
whats up with these opening promos ?
Liz could be Bella Lugosi's sister
Even if i should Ship Joe & Carolyn.. I Would LOVE to see MORE Chemistry Scenes of Burke and Carolyn like in this Episode.
+Steve Bergman but they still had on screen chemistry
Who is the girl dancing in the background, the blond?
Just some blonde.
They had to work on July 4th ,1966
tapeduk Yes, and did anybody notice one of the actors mentioned fireworks a couple episodes before this one? I find that interesting.
tapeduk They didn't make much money back then, either.
scdevon ... does anybody in these forums know how much they made?

Vicky reminds me of Mia Farrow!
Not at all.
Think I'll look for a DS forum to join--I started w/ ep. 1 and am up to 16. What's the most active forum, anybody want to give me a good steer?
