Actually! Truffles remain expensive because they're difficult to mass produce. The recent proliferation of easily accessible truffle-based foods uses truffle oil which barely contains truffle if at all. Rather, they figured out the molecule (2,4-dithiapentane) that gives white truffles their signature flavor/smell and use that.
If Brennan’s take on Crunch bars is like that, I can’t imagine how he’d react to Aero bars, which have pockets of just air in them, you don’t even get the rice.
I actually like the texture of Aero bars. Not so much the price, though.
when my godkid has bad period pains my one job is to find and supply mint aero.

False, American products labeled as “chocolate” need at least 10% cacao. You can argue a higher percentage is better, but you’d be wrong because the quality of a candy comes down to the experience it provides. In many cases I might prefer hersheys over a European chocolate for the mouthfeel, versatility, price, taste, etc, you might prefer a Cadbury or a Milka but we all have preferences.

My major problem with Brennan's take is that the chocolate bars usually have their weight listed on them, and the Crunch bar usually has a comparable weight to its solid bar competition and thus while rice replaces some of the chocolate, it also adds to the texture of the bar which makes up for the minute chocolate displacement by the rice. With the weights being comparable, it means that the air of the rice only lifts up, but doesn't replace the chocolate.
Except it actually makes the chocolate worse.
Similar weight because AIR(rice) has weight. Like air is heavy! I agree it's a very minimal amount of chocolate replaced by "air" though. Now potato chip bags...THATS air!
I love these glimpses into Brennan and Rekha's professional friendship. This, their interactions on the Game Changers Ratfish, more moments of these two just interacting in the world and feeding off the others energy.

I’m actually pretty sure that Grant is in a show with Oscar - coming out likely sometime next year based on how long these things normally take - because the lore keeping posted a Tictok with them together in the dome a while back.

I was singing along in perfect harmony when he was going off about air. The slight crunch doesn't set it apart in a way that makes it something worth getting excited about. Those candy executives know their business, and it is hollow.

when it comes to baking essences, the only one you will EVER need is vanilla essence. for EVERY SINGLE OTHER FRUIT: use spices! Apples, cinnamon. Oranges, cloves. and so on.

@GamerJV gonna be honest, had to look it up (anarcado??) Because growing up in PR in the 80s, I guess cashews were not heavily traded. A lot of specific nuts are just called that, nuez.

While I am 100% with Rekha on Crunch bars, I have to defend Bennan on his puffed rice vs. popcorn stance. It isn't hypocritical at all because the popcorn isn't displacing any chocolate from a chocolate bar.
There is no such thing as cholocalate in the US, you are displacing the thing you have instead of chocolate.

What is your definition of chocolate? In the us, chocolate products are required to have at least 10% cacao. You can argue that “real” chocolate has more but it’s a poor argument because “real” chocolate is a bitter medicine if we want to be pedantic

I have data on crunch bars. All the way back in middle school when we used to sell chocolate for our band functions, it was the "worlds finest" brand. Variety of flavors, one was the crunch equivalent. That puffed rice bar sold out every. Single. Year. First one gone. I don't deny that they're selling you air, but people love it.

i went straight to pigs and dogs. brennan set us up to go that way and then acted like we're weird for thinking that.
I thought Diana and Greta would be similar the golden girls. Diana would have a more free spirited person who likes to have fun. The other Greta is the more studious and has to deal with the antics of Diana. Always having to come up with plans to get them out of the crazy and wacky adventures. At least that’s what I think a Diana and and Greta are to me as besties.

Oh God, Kit Kat are so DRY. Like, the worst wafers. Swedish Kexchoklad is so much better, and it's not even that great. Just has way better texture (and better chocolate, which is weird because it's also not great, especially compared to Finnish or Swiss, I say this as a Swede).
