After walking in Spirit Filled relationship (Pentecostal) with God over 25 years, I've come to understand just how real and Living of a Being God is, and try as I might, I just can't get God to show up anytime I want Him to, no matter how sincere and dedicated in worship and prayer I am ... God can be just ... silent ... no physical thought, feeling or sense that He's there ... He does this a lot more then I can deal with sometimes. I just so want to feel His closeness 24/7/365. Unfortunately, we can't MAKE God be there even when we feel we desperately need Him! God has an independent personality - He just happens to be a Living real God. I sense God does this for two reasons, 1. to exercise our faith which is so incredibly important, and, 2. to keep us looking forward to eternity when we will be with Him always and forever. The Bible does say the Holy Spirit is our "down payment" (2 Cor 1:22, 5:5, Eph 1:13-14) indicating it's only partial until we get to eternity. I'm so looking forward to God's indescribable beautiful presence 100% always!
