From time to time I check the internet, youtube, streaming music services, anything I can think of to find out what happened to this amazing band... And nothing. I've been a music fanatic, former DJ (college radio and 80's alt rock club DJ) and all around music junkie since my high school days in the 70's with Zepplin, Rush, AC/DC, Black Sabbath and the list goes on... I love Priestess and hope against hope that they reunite, reform or whatever they want to call it, to put out their amazing brand of rock music again. Mikey Heppner, if you ever read this, please give us more Priestess!!! The rock gods, fans and I will all thank you!
Some members ended up creating other bands that also unfortunately disappeared. The most recent information i found was from Mikey Heppner two years ago in a Christmas special music video..which indicates that he may still pursue a musical career again ;)
Update* For those who wonder where are they: Mikey (the vocalist) had some bands after Priestess (Uncle Bad Touch and Beat Cops mostly) and now he's a father who still makes some music. Both Dan (the bearded guitarist) and Vince (the drummer) works with soundtracks, and Vince Nudo played with Kurt Ville some years ago, Mike Dyball (the bassist) played in a garage band called WetMetal but I think they disbanded.
From a band I've mostly known for a hard rock vibe, this is a very nice homage to old school Thrash metal (with a hint of Death metal for good measure)
Turn the scissors with open blades All the darkness will burn Recalling pictures of olden days All these feelings return If you're breathing you've been afraid In the shadows remain I'll be stalking you night and day Till you share all my pain Now we step into the fire Beware you will pay Ladykiller I swear you will pay Ladykiller Bait the killer and lie in wait Till the morning unfolds Now he's feeding on my mistakes And the trail has run cold All the violence that fills the world Leaving nothing for shame This is when so much pain will call out Such things I have learned Hear my vow and fear my vengeance Beware you will pay Ladykiller I swear you will pay Ladykiller
First song I heard from them was I am the night, color me black on NFS Carbon. Thought is was dope and since then I got a few songs from Hello Master. Talk to Her and Lay Down are dope tracks.
They have definitely changed a lot since their first album. I think they're really pushing for their won unique sound, trying to distinguish themselves from other bands which is really good. That is how you make a band memorable and long lasting
Oh, that was awesome. I like this sudden welling up of bands like this, The Sword, Holy Grail. Not really sure what to call them other then heavy metal, but I think there is a new genre coming around here.
The song is about Jack the Ripper. i think the animal furs in the video are to give it a more primal feel, and the Picasso sculpture at the end is just so twistedly awesome.
Bueniiisismo! Que buena banda!...y eso que recien empiesan! Gran disco:"Prior To The Fire"! Y el viedeo es moustroso!El Picaso al final,ja!Continua de "I am the night!Es una saga!jajajjajja Fuck yea! Amazing! Very good band! Great album: "Prior To The Fire"! And the viedeo is great! There is a living Picaso.Continuation of "I am the night! It's a saga! Jajajjajja Fuck yea!
This song rule , no wait , This album rules!!!!! When I saw these guys live in London, they were fantastic, I only have one question.... What's with the strange clothing guys???
@OHG1997 Easy. They're from Montreal. If a radio station is given the choice, they'll always play the commercial crap they get shoved down their throats. BTW, they have a track on Guitar Hero III (Lay Down I think) so they are in fact in millions of homes!
Pretty weird video, love the song. Mikey Heppner is a great singer, he has a really impressive range, and a really unique sound. But check out the Norwegian hardrock band El Caco, Mikey actually sounds alot like the lead singer in that band, Øyvind Osa, especially in this song.
I know that your comment is from a year ago but just putting this here in case anybody else has issues. If you are using firefox an add-on called proxtube will solve your woes. You can keep it off and then whenever you get a video that is blocked in your country, switch it on, refresh and you'll be good to go.
@tnafan It's just like that period where everyone thought that every band with more then 6 members or bands who dressed up in makeup and costumes (Mushroomhead, Mudvayne) was automatically a Slipknot cover. Associating yourself with Slipknot has proven wildly unpopular lately
I wonder why I can't then? What gives? It says not available in my country!? It's done that for other Canadian artists to me...Bedouin Soundclash, The Tragically Hip..you know..artists that are mostly known here in Canada, not world wide? Maybe its a youtube glitch?
WTF? can't watch Talk to her from them...It says the video isn't available in my country...Fucking hell those guys are from the same town i'm living in!
The people demand more Priestess! Words cannot describe how under rated these lads were!
So true
Music industry politics is a damn shame
One of the greatest bands to just disappear from the face of the earth. I NEED more Priestess!!!

These guys are one of the best Canadian bands from the last 20 years!
Still loving this song in 2021
I swear that this is the best band to come out in 20 years! Spread the word, Priestess kicks ass!
Mastodon deserves a good band to tour with. Tour again.
Wow, another amazing song by Priestess ! The singer has a gorgeous voice.
I really like this band ... This band needs more rep. Been listening ever since this song came out.

How very Mastodon of them. I love it.
THEY FREAKING GET BETTER AND BETTER ! Wow... I like this song song so much...
Turn the scissors with open blades
All the darkness will burn
Recalling pictures of olden days
All these feelings return
If you're breathing you've been afraid
In the shadows remain
I'll be stalking you night and day
Till you share all my pain
Now we step into the fire
Beware you will pay
Ladykiller
I swear you will pay
Ladykiller
Bait the killer and lie in wait
Till the morning unfolds
Now he's feeding on my mistakes
And the trail has run cold
All the violence that fills the world
Leaving nothing for shame
This is when so much pain will call out
Such things I have learned
Hear my vow and fear my vengeance
Beware you will pay
Ladykiller
I swear you will pay
Ladykiller
Great band & even better song!!

@swoopTK421 How will they get heard of if their music is restricted?
I swear the first 50 000 views were from me love this song :P
the music video kinda reminds me of the movie May
Está muy buena la canción, independiente de la voz (bastante ecualizada), es un excelente stoner metal : P
Belongs in the next Heavy Metal Movie.
