- Sue Cook and Nick Ross present. Cases include a serious assault on Bill Gallagher in London, an armed robbery in Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire and the murder of Sharon Harper in Grantham, Lincolnshire.
Youngsters usually get bad press, but I bet the family of Bill are glad he was around and helped him. Well done young man
*YEP!* Brave also. PS: Did Bill ever properly pull through after this and was his attacker ever caught?
Bill's reconstruction was, aside from obviously disgusting, really heartwarming, seeing how his friends rallied around to help his stall survive & participate in the recon. Such genuine & caring people.
The little lad that helped him deserves a special mention. His immediate action most likely made a life saving difference. Well done young man. I hope you've gone on to great things.
I wish I could find some info online regarding Bill's recovery, but there doesnt seem to be anything :(
Those attempted child abductions are scary. Can't imagine being a parent and going through that.
Thank you so much for uploading these!
Good, brave boy. Unfortunately there's a death record for Bill from 1995. Whether he didn't wake up from this, or whether it was something else, I don't know
REDCARD 74 YOU ARE A GOD THANKS SO MUCH KEEP THEM COMING MATE
Kid is quite good in the first reconstruction
Sierra Cosworth was an amazing motor. I recall the Gavers using them on some local forces, and seeing them burning up the motorway on several occasions. Also saw the Senator 24V a few times...
It feels like a Cosworth is mentioned every episode! I'd never even heard of the model until I started watching CW...
Proper motor to use as a getaway car
Then they made the escort rs cosworth which was even more powerful and better looking
@@robdean704 much better looking and a lot smaller. don't think it was as fast.
@@rahawa774 you either didn't live in the UK around that era. As the ford serria cosworth and Ford excort cosworth was nearly every young boy's dream car at the time. And they raced them for year's. Still do in classic races
That kid was pretty brave
The bogus health visitors case seems to be the first 'feature' case without a full reconstruction they started doing alot more of these in future episodes presumably to fit in more cases.
Just noticed tonight's upload, so get my bag made up for work tomorrow then get the supper ready & settle down to watch.
What you got for supper?
@@kevphillips02Spam fritters, chips and mushy peas, most likely.
"Look out, they've got a gun!" Classic crimewatch :)
You ever hear a weird noise in your house when you’re watching crimewatch..madness!!!
0121 DO 1 I used to sleep with the light on after watching crimewatch
I make sure the doors are all locked!
Classic! Yep always make sure the door is triple locked!
All the time. Expecially in the dead of night that sounds like someone climbing through the window which would be some achievement as i live on the 16th floor?
@@CARLIN4737 🤣 Nice comment! Cheered me up all day. 🤣
Remember the amateur footage of the Cosworth escaping, back then I was considering buying one, and had been looking for one at the right price. Four months later I had one.
Great cars!
Looked a rapid getaway
The guy who attacked the old man was he ever caught?
Yes. The beast of Bermondsey Michael Roberts.
@@simonmitchell60 Really?
Yes and he received a whole life term which was reduced on appeal by the Lord Chief Justice Lord Judge. You have to
Wonder if some of these judges are also depraved.
Thanks as always Redcard74, I was wondering (well, more worrying) that I wasn't gonna get my nightly fix of crimewatch this evening, but I was just being impatient, sorry 😀, keep up the great work, buddy, good evening to all you dedicated crimewatchers, hot cup of tea, anyone?.....🍵🍵
Nick Ross: at 8:05pm Eddie Edwards made a cup of tea, but there was another cup at the table. Who was that for? Did you see anyone? Was that cup of tea for...YOU?? Police desperately want to trace anyone who may have had a cup of tea that day.
@@rs-qt1qg OMG, classic stuff, I could just imagine him dusting the other cup, for DNA and fingerprints as well......🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@eddieedwards5668 lol 😁
@@rs-qt1qg ha , ha , ha :-D
You know you need a makeover when all the videofits start looking like you. :/
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
30:25 Rodney Trotter with a mullet
Thanks redcard74.
Would anyone be stupid enough to hand over a child at the door?
Pygiana that daft bint looked a bit thick tbh
The case with the armed robbery in Nottinghamshire where the note with directions was left in the getaway car. Wouldn't a good place to start the investigation be to maybe follow the directions in reverse.
Indeed Sherlock.
@Clio Flano Elementary, my dear Watson
Bill Mellish! Appeared in Crimewatch File re the South Bank Robbery (1989) and still just as business-like.
Thanks RedCard74! 😁
Another Sierra cosworth been used-for the gataway
they're worth around 60 grand now
My dad had a Sierra 4x4 which is one down from a cosworth and that went like poo off a stick so God knows what the acceleration was like in a cosworth
@@kdwskdws Same colour as mine, Saffs are reaching 20K, 3 doors 40-45K, RS500's 100K.
Thank you.

Yes, with hosts Rylan Clark and Katie Price. Special features could include: ‘Name that Nonce’ and ‘Blag of the Month’. Big cash prizes too!
It's been back on for years in the mornings. It's very different though because crime is very different these days.
The two mothers are not the sharpest knives in the box.
shoddy policing for the jewelery robbery, i mean they were caught red handed and still got away easily...
Thanks Redcard
Cheers again!
Another fab retro night Thanks great q too.
The theme song though!! 🥁🥁🎺🥰

51p for petrol and 56p for diesel back then

Immac not so good back in them days 😅
@@AACE73Sue and Jacqui still shave theirs.
Good Lord. She would have handed her child over to a stranger. That's terrifying.
Unbelievable that she said that how dumb can one be
@Kawasaki man
Believing yet *_another_* corporation about its claim of being an "authority" over complete strangers is a far commoner occurrence.
The name of one such corporation?
METROPOLITAN POLICE CONSTABULARY PLC.
Why would anyone be so dumb as to take [their] claim as legitimate - even after your very sovereignty was stolen from you within six weeks after your birth?
Dumbness is surely measured in degrees?
Did that boy in the Bill Gallagher case play Daniel Handley in his case or is it a different kid?
That’s him I’m sure
Sharon harpers killer is still a mystery to this day.
A surprisingly high percentage of these crimes on Crimewatch are unsolved. Maybe these uploads might help to solve them.
@@ajs41 It's strange isn't it? It appears you *can* get away with murder (quite often).
Interstat not nowadays. Back then forensics and investigative techniques weren’t as advanced as they are today, no smartphones, not as much CCTV also helped criminals a lot.
Looking at these reconstructions it’s surprising how much criminals got away with back then.
Once again, crimewatch proves that the police are useless during an armed robbery
@@SazzyNoodles that's crazy x
Evening all
Does anyone know if Bill recovered
Googled and can't find any info at all on the case.
@@PrecipitationAndCorderoy yeah I can't either. Odd :(
Anyone know what happened to Bill Gallagher? Nothing online about him.
it was just a warning piece at the time to keep frankie fraser safe

@redcard74 could you upload October 1994 episode plz
Robert Hunter I’m guessing that will be up tonight.
did the police trace the man seen by two men talking to sharon harper?????i.e if he was'nt eliminated from the inquiry????????
on 13:32 the Registration plate H640WYP, was used again in June 1995
A vehicle used solo by criminals.
It was also featured in a later episode, in 1999 I think
3.0 Senator and Sapphire Cosworth. Great memories of these magnificent cars.
The 90s when kids clothes were 10 sizes to large

Around Gloucester ishire? That's Fred West territory , surprised they don't give him a mention but that was police intel at the time
I looked up about Sharon Harper’s murder looks like nobody has been caught her daughter Sarah Louise spoke about it in 2015 it’s really sad she never got to know her Mum as she as only five months old when it happened. Sharon’s Dad died of a heart attack without knowing who killed his loving daughter hope the family that remain find answers soon Xx
Still absolutely no news either and haven’t had contact with the police since 2015. I’ve lost all hope. Grandad was the closest I had to a father figure but he passed away if Stomach Cancer. I wouldn’t be surprised if I don’t die without knowing what happened tbf
The Sharon Harper case is a strange one but after watching the reconstruction many times something just does not add up. I'm not going to put my theory on here but I hope the police checked this person out at the time.
@@ianl1544 What's your thoughts on it
Was she having an affair and wanted to stop seeing him. But he couldn,t accept it . Possessive phyco etc.
@michealhand1001 that's what it seemed like but only a reconstruction. Did he believe he was her daughter's father? Seemed so intense that it concerned other people?

Sorry for your loss.
Sharon had another fella, probably the jealous dad of the baby.
100%
She could have also had an unwanted admirer who had a real thing for her but maybe couldn't take no for an answer?
There's plenty of creeps like that around....
For all we know he might’ve been someone who was stalking Sharon he wouldn’t leave her alone it’s sad that she lost her life
38:53 the caller probably local and scared.
He was well spoken... Never would get away with saying that now.
He was a big posh sod with plums in his mouth
Well spoken, though … innit?
17:05 me when it’s almost 11am but I really want a McMuffin
36:06 kings arms in Grantham had a murders outside crazy.
Bill Mellish has been on before - I think on the 1989 David Paterson shooting.
Those cosworths were every armed robbers dream motor and my they were rapid
Yeah but they were quite rare. A standard Sierra was more common
I didn't have a cosworth but I did have a white Sierra! God I loved that car! My very first car with electric windows & central locking!! I'd actually love to own it again 😭
@@AACE73I’m a full Janspeed man, myself.
Was the jewelers robbery ever solved?
After so long looking for the long haired man, makes me think it was a red herring. Maybe the killer is closer to home.
A long-haired red herring? Wtf?
Can any crimewatchers help me out with a name or episode a Scottish woman living down south dropped off video tapes to her friend and left to play darts and that’s when she was last seen bit of a loaner may have been the same episode as an older female doctor placing dating ads not sure on that though
im sure ive seen that one, the guy who killed her was in the reconstruction
March 1986, Avril Dunn’s murder in Luton, Bedfordshire. Danuta Kaczmarska’s murder in Birmingham was featured in the February 1986 episode.
*Retyped comment because for some reason I thought Danuta’s murder was in Bristol, not Birmingham.
Avril Dunn. Her killer, Duncan Jackson, was actually in the CWUK recon! He was one of her pub friends/dart players. 🤬 They caught him years later.
Violence against old people . Watch your back in jail !
Proof of all claims made in this video are required.
Ok you put a lot of eps up lets see if u can get patrick warren and david spencer
“A man was wearing a mask over his head,” Such an unusual place to wear one, eh?
Fair play that robbery
i hate to see a well-planned robbery, but you had to say it was.
the man seen by two men talking to sharon harper surely had to be the same man?????????????
We’re those two policemen in the jewellery raid a bit … er … slow?
Missing your up loads redcard 74

Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
