I love Dreamcatcher. They have an amazing discography, with my favorite song of theirs being Deja Vu. It was cool to see Yoohyeon and Gahyeon dance to FIESTA. I've never felt so bias-wrecked by SuA before. Wow.
The masked girl isn't there to fill in Handong's place, it's so sad to see all these formations with a hole in them. What makes it even more sad is that this hole is like a hole in our hearts, reminding us that Handong is absent. D:

As an idol for three years, but still being classed as "trainee" is patronising as it is. What makes it worse is she is being judged by people who are no better than her in music, but only more popular because they're with a big agency. And although I know it's unlikely for Dreamcatcher to win this comeback, given how they were rigged before, and now with IZ*ONE in the mix and BTS with a comeback also, even if they win, the shows will just rig it again for sure, imagine if Dreamcatcher did win this? How do you think Handong would feel? Three years with the group, but not part of the first win. Can't celebrate with the group. Can't share the glory because she wasn't a part of this comeback. Can't win when she was there, but win when she was absent, if she looked at it negatively, she would probably think she's holding the group back. It's just plain sad. Honestly, I'd say this was probably the single worst mistake Happyface has ever made. I can't see any good coming out of this, everything so far is bad, and things could only get worse.

They all knew that it was possible that they would get their first win without Dongie. They knew that it was a possibility that she could be gone for up to two years. These are possible things when one takes part in those sorts of programs. I imagine it didn't feel that great to the members of Nu'est either - debuted for over 5 years, no first win and yet went on P101 to gain exposure for their group, one of them was picked for Wanna One - Wanna One got a first place, Minhyuk didn't have his members with him, same when Nu'est W got a first win - Minhyuk wasn't there to celebrate with them either. So it's *sucky* but it's not the end of the world. Handong herself knew these things and kept in contact for as long as possible, so unless you work for HFE in a fairly high position to make those kinds of decisions it doesn't matter what we say as fans. We don't have to like it but we have to accept it. And really unless someone at HFE is clairvoyant, there's no way to have predicted the covid-19 outbreak, so again, sucky but shit happens. As far as a *mistake* - Cube letting both Beast and Hyuna and Dawn go? *That* is a mistake to kick out one of your main money making artists (Hyuna) and one of your main money making groups (Beast) AND losing two incredibly talented producers in the form of Junhyung and Dawn. Sending Dongie to China to promote Dreamcatcher in her native language to people who haven't heard of them before and then gets stuck there due to circumstances beyond anyone's control can be considered a misstep at most.

As much as people think Happyface didn't see the aftermath of it coming, I honestly think they did due to how sudden it was, and they salvaged the situation before it was even a misstep. Letting YG waste their time and cash without the promised reimbursement is a *very* risky business move for even one person. Also... how are they going to rectify Handong being in China... when covid-19 is going about... they can't exactly bring her back instantly and there's a good chance she's be stuck in quarantine until it can be proved that she doesn't have it plus the fact that the more people she has contact with is an increased risk of contracting it so travel right now is dicey at best. Also again - unless you work for HFE in a fairly high capacity, you can say whatever, but it's not going to make a difference. We can say what we want as an audience but at the end of the day, it's HFE that makes the decisions about the schedules and we have to accept those decisions. If we don't agree the only way to dissent is to not buy their products - aka not buy albums, etc. Any bad feelings or hunches or insights that might have occurred beforehand again do not make a difference unless you work for HFE. So really, just spare some good thoughts for Dongie and her family and for those who are infected and their families. That's the most we can do at the moment. Coulda shoulda wouldas don't help in the present.
