To be perfectly honest, I've seen worse ferret drawings. But anyway, I had, and still have, dogs and cats. Dogs and cats really do make for marvelous pets. However, there are many other creatures that do make for great pets too. Though I've never heard of butterflies being great pets, it sounds like it was a very interesting pet and I thank you for sharing this story with us. I felt the ending was a bit unfortunate, however, if it's any consolation, I do not think that the butterfly felt any pain. As I've heard, insects don't feel pain because of their composition and them not having nociceptors. Also, coming from someone who has owned and still own cats, I can say that this is normal behavior for these predatory creatures who hunt smaller animals such as squirrels, rats, mice lizards, insects, etc. and that the cat didn't do what it did out of any kind of spite (but you probably already knew this).

Fun fact I did own a ferret before they became illegal in California
When I was in second grade, my teachers gave us mealworms to look after. We kept them in these little plastic tubes with oatmeal and we gave them baby carrots every week. We kept them as they turned into their pupal form and then to a beetle. At the end of the year, I got to take them all home. (I have autism and was kind of a celebrity in my class, unfair I know) and we put them all in the compost heap in my backyard right before we went on a week-long trip to a coastal town.
Then in 3rd grade, we were given anoles to watch over. (Anoles are like these little gecko-like reptiles that are no longer then the length of your entire hand) Unlike the mealworms, we were all put in groups and each group took care of at least 2 anoles. My group had 2 females in our cage and we would feed them crickets every day. I got to take one of the 2 home and named her Cecily. (Like the herb) I took care of her for 3 years before she died, and I really enjoyed taking care of her.
This story reminded me of my two “School Pets” when I haven’t thought of them in years. Keep it up Brewstew, your videos are the only videos that have made me laugh out loud every time in a long time!
