I bought a good pair of wool socks about seven years ago. Less that a week later I declared the a-sock-alypse and threw away all my cotton socks and bought wool or wool blend socks to replace them. Thin wool socks are better than cotton in the summer, too.
Owned the chore for 3 years and never , never even thought about rolling down the neoprene, FANTASTIC tip , I now have a quick and easy slip on waterproof steel toe bedroom slipper , lol , for a quick run outside in the late night in the northeast. Awesome 👏
Also if you're working in mild temperatures where once you start working you'll break a good sweat but as you stop moving you catch a chill wear wool because even when wool is soaking wet it still retains about 80% of its insulative value or better if its good quality wool
Or wear thicker socks, or several layers of thin socks. I often find that certain footwear doesn’t do well with an extra insole as it alters the fit so they become uncomfortable in places they weren’t prior to putting in an extra insole.
My feet are cold with my new Muck Boots and meant to be warm to -40. My old Muck boots kept my feet warm and they were only comfy rated to -30 but the sole came away as so many reviewers have said happens.
Hi appreciate you posting these videos. I wear my muck boots on everyday at work. My only complaint is my chore boots are very tight round ankle and way to make the loser ?
Are there any muck boots that fit foot snug like a regular boot?I have old foot/ankle injuries & my current rubber boots just move around too much on my foot I want a tight fit around ankle
Guide bird hunts and have always loved Muck boots but last 2 pairs the soles came off and I had to glue them back on ! I am not paying $170 -$200 for bad quality!
Thanks for the question! We'd recommend the Muck Arctic Sport or Pro options. Socks pay a huge roll in regulating the temperature of your foot as well. Wool is the best option for socks - stay away from cotton.
My normal size is 9.5 so the Muck Boot Company recommended getting size 10, which I did. Nice boots but a bit loose. Should I get a size 10 insole to get a bit more cushion?
Hello appreciate you posting these videos. I wear my muck boots on everyday at work. My only complaint is my calfs are chasing at the very top of the boot. Making very uncomfortable. Any suggestions? And also do you recommend wool socks in the summertime. I always assume wool socks are only for winter? I appreciate your time in advance
I wear Redhead wool socks year round in South Carolina heat. I don't own a pair of Muck boots yet, but I don't have any issues with wool socks being hot.
Thanks for the question and sorry for the late reply. We recommend the exact size, unless you are in-between sizes - then size up. You want the Muck boots to fit like a sock, snug and secure. Let us know if you have any additional questions!
What about a sandblaster working in a box that gets up to 110F? Rubber boots are the only thing the glass will not destroy in a week but my feet are wet for 8 hours everyday. Wouldn't wool make me even hotter?
what if it's 40 degrees outside and I am standing (slowly walking upstream) in moving water up to my ankles. I take my boot off and my socks are totally wet. Is it sweat or does my boot have a small leak?
If both of your feet are wet, there's a good chance it's just sweat. To double check, try submerging the booth in a bucket of water after it's completely dried out. It it gets wet inside obviously the booth has a leak. Regardless, you should always wear wool socks! Never cotton!
Muck Boots are really comfortable, but not waterproof, water-resistant Maybe. Just returned a pair of Chores. The seams in the souls were glued so poorly that they would soak up water like a sponge, and then release water into the inner part of the boot. Then a couple days later you put on the boots thinking they're dry, take a couple steps hear squish squish, then the inside of the boot would be completely drenched again, after sitting on the windowsill and drying for 4 days.
That was my experience, too. The seams broke within a couple of months. The store replaced them with a pair that have so far lasted a little longer. Hopefully the original were just a defective outlier and not the norm.
Brands who don't do half size shouldn't be allowed on the market. It's a sign they don't care about customers & they have a cheek to charge u for a insole. Tell them fk off where the sun dont shine
Muck boots are trash now days. They used to be the best. Quality went down hill big time. Boots won’t even last me a year now. I’m a landscaper in WA state (rain) used to last me years. Last 2 pairs , not even a full year each. Switched to BOGGS and 10 times better in all categories
I think the breathability aspect of muck boots is a joke They don't breathe they're neoprene and rubber The only place they breathe is out the cop your feet sweating them and they will make the boots stink cold weather even the insulated one your feet will freeze I've had several pairs of muck boots over the years both insulated and uninsulated.
I own a pair of mucks winter boots and when I took it fishing in 30 degrees weather my toes would still get cold even with two socks on and they where winter thick socks too. Smfh boots aren't worth it. Artic Mucks boots are false advertisements.
What a crappy fix for boots that don't fit properly... Add a insole.. Add better socks... If I buy a boot, especially a $210 boot, I want them to fit GREAT... guess I can get moleskin...lol...please tell me my $210 boots will fit perfectly...... Apex pro 11
"that rubber part doesn't breath as much" I respect your boots. I do not respect you BS Thick rubber does not "breath" at ALL. Why you lie big man? Why you so casually lie about science fact?
Thanks for the tips you hack.
Dang man,thanks for knowledge!!

So glad it helped! Appreciate the comment!
I've got an old pair I use as farm shoes I basically cut the top neoprene part off about high top sneaker height they work great lol
Ha! Got me sold! All i wanted to know was how to keep my feet dry in my Walmart boots. Now I know where I am going for boots, I soles, and wool socks
Love wool socks!
For bad smell , PodoPhylus antimicrobial Insoles are the best. My brother used them. No more odor.

I love wool. It’s amazing. Is the neoprene similar to Gore-Tex wick lining?

I’m thinking this man owns stock in wool. lol. Good video

I wear wool socks year round. They're more comfortable and keep your feet cooler in tbe summer. Just wear the correct weight wool for the temperature!
I love wool.
Got that right!
Great tips. I never realized the benefits of wool socks! You might think wool would be hot, sweaty socks if you were the layman- like myself.
Nope! It's the best sock available if you're active!
Merano wool socks by darn tough!!!! I wear two pair even in the summer. Like walking on a cloud
You guys should check out some silk socks too, put wool over the silk and it’s insanely warm.
Any tips for not pulling my sock off when the muck boot comes off...? Cheers guys
Wear merino socks summer and winter,,,wear them in south ga in 100 degree with light merino,,no sweat….
On #3 does Merino wool the same

What size insert to you buy? So I'm a 12.5 and have size 13 to I buy a 13 insert or a 12?
I thought wool socks would be too warm for the summer. Now i wear them year round
Guide bird hunts and have always loved Muck boots but last 2 pairs the soles came off and I had to glue them back on ! I am not paying $170 -$200 for bad quality!
I LOVE my muck boots, but always have difficulty getting them off. Please help.
Where can i find a men's mid-calf, wide width, size 10 rain boot good for rain and flooding?
An extra insole will not snug up the heel and keep it from slipping.
Can you do a water test with them?
Any suggestion for a guy who does it all between ice fishing to mountain sledding? Temp ranges from 0C to -45C in Canada.

my wife bought me a pair of XpressCool Muck boots and all I want to know will they stop a rattle snake bite ?
I wear rain boots for 8 hours a day and my heel start hurting my last 4 hours what can I do to help my heel.
Yea yea

My muck chores work great on a Great Lakes cargo ship
Mine too
That's great!
Does the chore cool fold down too? Thanks.
Yes it does Slow_Poke!
Turn the into music down to a more comfortable 120db from the current 210db. Thanks in advance
Thanks Bill! Still working out the kinks with the music. I appreciate the advice
@@frclothingsupply3561 great content and delivery. Your RUclips channel will be successful
Seems like the insoles are hard to get ahold of. Last I checked, Muck themselves didn't stock any.

What’s that insole called?
"Ìnsole" 😮
Are they slippery on wet concrete?
Nope, work at a wash plant on wet concrete all day. Never had an issue.

A simple solution would be to make half sizes!
They probably want to keep tooling and inventory cost low
Agreed!

@@copperspartan1643 I invested in a $5 tube of 504 glue from the hardware store, worked really well.
@@mjsmjs7905 I was considering that. I'll try it if this pair fails.

I’ve been in a flood with mucks and kept my feet dry even once the water was about the boot
No matter what
My feet always are wet
And they are brand new
Tried watching your video multiple times and it will not play. I guess RUclips doesn't want me watching it... oh well, onto the next
Great video, very informative. However, the intro and ending music is way too loud.

Yea what do you do to be able to shovel in these cuz they hurt the bottom of your feet like a mthr fkr
wool is probably gonna poke your feet a lot.
Nah, quality wool socks are super comfortable. I would never go back to cotton or synthetic.

neoprene does not breathe.
A better solution would be to buy a better boot that fits correctly.
