The Fender sounds better to my ears but I’d still rather have the Suhr for playability and less noise, it’s a bit of a trade off but really the Suhr still does sound darn good but just more compressed, probably because of the noise reduction circuit.
The fender sounds more like a classic strat. I own a AVRI 57 strat, the weak spot in this line are the pickups. They just don't have the tonal range that high end pickups have. That being said, if you get an American vintage reissue and replace the pickups with klein/lollar/fralin pickups - your can get close to custom shop level for half the price.
Not a fair comparison. This is not Fender's best offering for guitar and pickups. This is probably Suhr's best and their flagship ML Standards. You should have a Fender Custom Shop Strat Relic'd with hand wound pickups for a fair comparison.
This isn’t a great comparison. This is a suhr with ML that are overwound for a thicker sound. The v60 should be used for comparison since they’re suhr’s vintage pickups.

First of all, great playing. You are very solid and precise, and I'm going to study your riffs! For the guitars, to me, the Fender had the mojo.
fender is more vintage, suhr is modern sounding imho
I like fender. Suhr is compressed and fat almost like a mini humbucker. Fender is more twangy and classic whereas suhr is very modern sounding.
The Fender sounds sharper and more “Fender” up high on the unwound strings. Guessing the Suhr SSC and the differences in pickups account for that.

Both sound amazing but the suhr has more color to the sound and sounds a bit bigger and fuller.
With that being said, I wouldn't mind having either of them. Awesome guitars, awesome player too!
fender's strat sounds more like a fender's classic rock sounds :)
Love fender sound
I love the sound of the Fender for neck pickup tones but the Suhr had a better sounding bridge pickup...rounder and fatter without losing clarity.
Fender has always that usual vintage round sound. The Suhr might have a stainless frets which can be a factor also for it openness and bite.
