Mylon and Broken Heart was my favorite band growing up. The first song I ever remember hearing was Free Man in 83. I learned how to play drums and guitar listening to their music. I was blessed of the LORD to be close to Mylon over the last 10 years. He was like a 2nd father to me. I miss him greatly. Great interview.
Thank you for watching the Broken Heart episode, Loren! My co-host, Rex, and I are grateful! Free Man is such a great song... The band had many greats! How wonderful that you were blessed to have been close with Mylon during the last decade. As time presses onward here, so many more of our loved ones in Christ have been ushered into The Lord's kingdom... The Good Shepherd has delivered His children safely home. As this continues with our loved ones in Christ, I find myself yearning all the more for God's peaceful and blissful shores. There's going to be a great family reunion one glorious Day! "To Him who sits on the throne, and to The Lamb, belong all blessing, honor, glory and power forever!" -Revelation 5:13 Happy Resurrection Day, 3/31/24, Loren! -Kent
My real beginning to coming to Christ was in a small church called Upatoi Baptist. My pastor was none other than Ben Hewitt. His love for christ was so apparent, and I wanted to feel God as close as he did. It was his teaching that changed my life forever. Thank you, Ben. (I know you probably won't see this, but thank you)
Greetings, Jerry! Thank you for watching and commenting; my co-host, Rex, and I are grateful! It was certainly our privilege to be able to fellowship with Ben and Kenny of Broken Heart. I simply wanted you to know that I shared your message with Ben as of this message. Wishing you The Lord's continued blessings! -Kent
Thank you for watching and commenting, Ramon. We are appreciative! Indeed, it was a blessing to be able to fellowship and hear from Ben and Kenny! Blessings in The Lord! -Kent
Thank you for watching and commenting; we are genuinely appreciative! I've seen the band twice and they were great... I sure do miss 'em! Wishing you The Lord's continued blessings! -Kent
Great interview/discussion guys! You all knock it out of the park! I used to have some of the Mylon cassettes years ago. Even though I am not much of a fan, I enjoy watching these episode of classic bands and hearing their story. They released a lot of encouraging songs! Sometimes we see the ministry or entertainment side of these bands regarding the albums, concerts and the overall presentation. We don't see the behind the scenes of loading in/loading out, living in cramped apartments and buses, long hours on the road and driving each other nuts on occasion and other sacrifices they made to get the message of the good news to the people. These wonderful bands do all this to minister to us with each album and song, live with a show and from time to time on an one on one level. As a side note, I always thought that Trains Up in the Sky was about the rapture. I remember seeing the video and if my memory is correct Mylon and I think the band was pointing up and then there was an empty stage as of the rapture happened. Kind of like a train or entourage of people going to heaven. I didn't know it was about lightning.
Thank you for watching and commenting, Michael! We are grateful for you, brother! I always enjoy your channel as well and appreciate your informative reviews. It truly was an honor to be able to speak with Ben and Kenny... Just great, wonderful, real people. I know this interview was a little longer, but the time just flew past as we were fellowshipping. I sure do miss this band: one of the "big four" Christian rock bands of the 80s, including Petra, D & K and Whiteheart. I learned a lot about the band through Ben and Kenny, and I appreciate the band's genuine heart for ministry. This interview has encouraged me to do and be better with regard for shining the light of Christ. Wishing you The Lord's continued blessings, Michael! -Kent
Awesome interview guys!! Ben I remember all those days and it brings a smile to my face!! I still remember our first trip to see Airborne and you recording the demo tape. The Lord has used you in an awesome way. Keep on doing his work brother. I’m proud of you and miss spending time with you.
I so enjoyed this interview! I was blessed to get to see Mylon and Broken Heart like 8 times from ‘85 to ‘91! I also got to hear Mylon preach in person about 3 times and got to talk to him a couple of minutes. I sure miss Mylon! I appreciate his ministry to me over all of the years! RIH Mylon!
Hey, brother Gary! Thank you for your friendship and for watching and commenting. We are grateful! I was blessed to have seen the band twice... What a great band who truly ministered to others! Blessings! -Kent
Two of my favorite people in the world, Ben and Kenny! Love you both! (Kenny and I are “cousins”). I lost count of how many times my family and I saw Mylon and Broken Heart in concert. Brought them to our area three times. We have a son named after Mylon. We grew so much in the Lord during that time. We owe a lot to the ministry of Mylon and Broken Heart. I think I’ve told Ben this before, but I am in possession of the red electronic drums featured in “Trains Up in the Sky” and other videos, and in many concerts. They no longer work and we never could find anyone to fix the “brain”, but they’re one of my most prized possessions. Blessings!
Thank you for watching and sharing from your family's journey, Jeannie. We are grateful! Very cool that you have those red drums! Wishing you The Lord's continued blessings! -Kent
I LOVE those guys and had several opportunities to work with them in the 80's. It's so great to see them again. Would have been great to have Scott too.
Thank you for watching and commenting; we are grateful! Very cool that you were able to work with the band members in the 80s! Scott was certainly invited, and I wish he could have also participated. Ben and Kenny had open schedules on the date of the invitation... What a privilege it was to fellowship with them! Blessings! -Kent
Mylon and BH "More" and John Mehler's "Bow and Arrow" were the first Christian albums I bought back in the day when I first believed...so of course I enjoyed this show immensely. As always guys, well done.
Thank you for watching, commenting and sharing from your personal journey, Jack. We are grateful! "Free Man" is one of my favorite tracks from "More"! It was certainly our privilege to have Ben and Kenny on as our guests... Wonderful and fun gentlemen! Thank you again for watching, Jack. Blessings in The Lord! -Kent
I saw them at ichthus festival in KY in the late 80s. I'll never forget. As they sang Crack the Sky there was heat lighting behind the stage. I also saw the Big World concert in Louisville KY. Great band. Love their music and heart
Thank you for watching and for sharing from your journey. We are grateful! Must've been cool to see the lighting while the band was jamming "Crack the Sky"! Indeed, Mylon & Broken Heart delivered great music with the greatest message! Blessings! -Kent
@@AREA312RockMetalVodcast curious question, I have a lot of cassette tapes from the 80s. All Christian bands. That music is still my favorite but I just listen to it on Spotify. So all those cassettes are just sitting in a closet. Any thoughts on what I could do with them? And I recently discovered your channel and I'm enjoying the interviews. Ty
@@jambox9919 Hi there! I am glad you discovered the channel and that you are enjoying the interviews! We strive to bring glory to The Lord. Thank you for watching and commenting! Regarding your cassette tapes: You could always list them for sale on Ebay or Amazon. There are also vendors who would probably either purchase them from you or work out a trade - vendors such as Girder Music or Boone's Overstock. You might also contact CGP CD Storehouse on Facebook, who may also be interested. Each of these are Christian CCM/Rock/Metal vendors. Last thought: If you have a Facebook page, you can offer them for sale and others can Paypal or Venmo you... That would cut out the "middle man" such as Ebay or Amazon. I think cassettes are starting to come back to some degree as vendors are starting to make a small run of them again for certain titles. I hope this helps. Blessings! -Kent
Kent and rex, great job once again. I saw Mylon & Broken Heart in concert 2 times. The first time was when they were supporting "Sheep In wolves Clothing" at the Trenton War Memorial. The other time was when the Look Up album came out and that was at the Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Pa. Both shows were amazing. Their music impacted me very much. Kent and Rex, keep up the gerat work you guys are doing. God Bless!!
Thank you for your kind words, Gerald. We are appreciative of your friendship and continued encouragement. May The Lord be glorified! Very cool that you've seen Mylon & Broken Heart twice, and on the Look Up album tour at that! I was blessed to have also seen the band twice: The "Sheep"... tour and on the "Crank It Up" tour.
