Hope the sun came out and burned off the fog! We had rain, rain, rain all day. After all that work on the fort to give them a shelter from the wind and rain, they are still coming to the door for Mommy to fix it. I was at work all day and was wondering how they were managing. My husband got home about 3:45 and he started texting that they were at the back door pecking and crying. I had to run home about 4:15 to put them in their run because I had to work late today, and they were standing against the door just which has shelter from the eave of the house. I took their afternoon snack plates up the hill and called them and, thankfully, they followed me right into the run. They seemed grateful to be there. Silly flock! Shockingly, my little codependent babies managed to get themselves to bed without Mommy. If Buddy wasn't so bossy with Daddy when Mommy is gone, they could have been rescued earlier. Mer does lay beautiful eggs. She seems like a very sweet girl, too. Summer lays pretty dark brown eggs, too. But, she is so mean to her sister. She is so sweet with people--just mean to poor Ollie. She is very friendly and not flighty and good with the kids in the family. Hopefully, the new chickens we get in spring will give Ollie some relief and some new friends. I don't think Summer will give up her head hen spot to anybody, though. But, at least she can spread her meanness out and not direct it all toward Ollie. That is probably why Ollie got in that tree the other day! I love watching your girls--it is just what I need to settle down in the evenings and unwind! Take care, friend!

The girls are saying thank you for a beautiful day. I’m going to get some alfalfa for my girls tomorrow.
