thanks Ted,It's nice to know the the albino alligator is doing well and has a much nicer home since the remodel.I shure hope I can get back up there sometime . I've never been to the San Francisco Aquarium I would like to check that out too
I was there 4 or 5 years ago. What happened to the many smaller (big for homes still) aquariums of fish? I never saw any large Tinfoil Barbs,Datnioides or their famous aquarium full of central American Cichlids. Plus all the other colorful or oddball fish. I just saw mega sized tanks. Did I miss a floor or something?
@@TedsFishroom I did if that where the rockfish tank was. But,I might have missed a whole section. Nobody around to ask either..no AOS people. Had the map...didn't see it on it also.
@@GreenCanvasInteriorscape Just found the ID last week. Thanks. Said to be an easy but slow grow. Nobody has it for sale. Now Green,if you can find a source..👍
@@GreenCanvasInteriorscape Thanks, that was me,but Michael the moderator banned me. He wants to impress Diane. I have my own views..some things she pushes are not required I think. He couldn't handle that.
Kind of underwhelming, the lack of live plants in the first few tanks were disconcerting, so many choices to enhance those surroundings for those fish, and the anableps tank had no place for them to get out of the water which is what they do ...
Many of the Cichlids come from areas where the PH does not allow for many plant forms. Some are rocky areas and some wood. They are doing "biotype" aquariums. Note that most all of these Cichlid tanks are sandy bottoms with either rock or wood depending on their native environment. Unfortunately the Malagasy and many others are on the extinction list. facebook.com/groups/AmericanCichlidAssociation/ images.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search;_ylt=AwrWpyZSjzxeUF0A2AAnnIlQ;_ylu=X3oDMTByNWU4cGh1BGNvbG8DZ3ExBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw--?p=Cichlid+biotypes&fr=yhs-mozilla-100&hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-100

I spent a lot of time at the Steinhart during my days as a College Student. Thank you for sharing.
I love the Steinhart.. haven't been there since they reopened. Excellent reason (among many) to go to San Francisco.
